The NSA Fight - Even god gave humanity a free will so we could be able too use the on and off switch

Tinker:

It is hard for me to remember when I first started thinking about God in a serious way. I seem to first recall paying attention to god from going to the neighborhood catholic church in the company of my parents who was always sitting besides me then.

I was very very young, around three, or four, and I was looking into the faces and eyes of the people around me there. Because I was trying to see just how serious other people were thinking about God.

After all someone went ahead and built this neighborhood church made out of brick and beautiful wood, didn't they. So I was trying to read the emotions of the people around me in church.

The images of Jesus and Mary was in the stone statue, painting, and lights, glass, all in a combination of symbols resting on the floor, and walls. Reflecting the streaks of sunlight that was creating shadows above the wooden church pews, row after row. The people were whispering into the invisible air leading me to look for the mystery that was the spirit of god.

I kept looking for god, and I ask my brother sitting next to me, "where is god."

My brother, "You see that round thing in the middle of the alter,"

Me, "That gold round thing,"

Brother, " Yes, that is the body of Christ. When it is time for communion everyone is going to eat the body of Christ, and we can go home."

I suddenly got the impression that I was asking the wrong person. Wow! What is going on here, because I'm not eating the body of anyone?

So I stood up and sat on the other side next to my mother whom I trusted would not do that sort of thing just in case my brother was right.

Well a lot of years has come and gone since then when I was a child. The mystery about the spirit of our lord is very much a prayerful quest that I am still traveling on. If I can really have a real moment with our lord god that will change my life forever.

Because if that moment ever becomes my reality everything else in and around our world will be like time is really standing still. Nothing else will matter much after that, God himself taking enough time to spend with you and me.

Imagine that reality

No my reality is here with you in our today's American society. Where the two major political parties with the help of the America news media has the political system that we the American people use to elect our government leaders so badly fixed that it is going to just about take a miracle to change it. So the American people can finally have a choice to vote for a person with a honest character and good ability.

A man or women that has the intangible wisdom to make the best decisions for the country we love.

No we have been deceived over a long period of time, generachion after generachion. That we have instead also inherited the Ivy league blue bloods intended dirty rotten people now in the American seat of political power who have the American people just the way they want us. Making our American political voting process nothing more then a rip off baby.

That only the news media emotional addicting
television show is what really matters these days. Controlling the madding crowd just like always, because what worked then is also still working now.

That the bull talk is truly getting very dangerous for all of us, that the American citizen who are not in the inside of the rich and powerful blue bloods political click, is fresh out of luck. that they have theirs ladies and gentlemen and we the American people are getting the shaft.

That they don't care about you at all.

That this American government corruption is our true American social reality today, come one come all.

That our lord god had nothing whatsoever to do with it.

Reza Aslan To Fox News: Yes I 'Happen To Be A Muslim,' But Wrote 'Zealot' Because I Am An Expert

Posted: 07/27/2013 10:46 pm EDT  |  Updated: 07/28/2013 12:39 am EDT

"You're a Muslim, so why did you write a book about the founder of Christianity?" Fox News' Lauren Green demanded of religious scholar Reza Aslan, author of "Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth," on Friday.

Aslan responded, "Well, to be clear, I am a scholar of religions with four degrees, including one in the New Testament, and fluency in biblical Greek, who has been studying the origins of Christianity for two decades, who also just happens to be a Muslim."

The answer did not seem to satisfy Green, so Aslan added, "Because it's my job as an academic. I am a professor of religion, including the New Testament. That's what I do for a living, actually."

Earlier this month, Aslan told HuffPost Live host Ahmed Shihab-Eldin, “I’ve been obsessed with Jesus for a very, very long time" and his fascination inspired his latest book.

Lobbyist Gets Real: Washington Is 'The Most Complex And Intricate Web Of BS In The World' (VIDEO)

Posted: 07/27/2013 9:07 am EDT  |  Updated: 07/27/2013 9:32 am EDT

WASHINGTON -- Sam Geduldig, a lobbyist with Clark, Lytle, Geduldig & Cranford, which represents corporate and Wall Street clients, was invited to discuss whether big business is a threat to the free market. He turned the tables on fellow panelists -- members of the media and think tanks -- arguing that the people around the table were the ones who are a threat to the free market. Washington, he said, forces companies to pay a variety of stakeholders under an implicit threat of legislative or regulatory punishment, rather than the conventional assumption that corporate interests are actively buying up influence.

"How many of us sitting on the table here would take a pay cut in Des Moines? All of us," Geduldig said. "My clients hire guys like me to help them navigate the most complex and intricate web of b.s. in the world."

Geduldig, whose firm made news in 2011 for pitching Occupy Wall Street opposition research to a bank trade group client, brought an unusually candid critique:

I don't like the question either, and I think we ought to be asking ourselves, how are we helping? What are we doing to help? 'Cause all of us sit around here, and I'm the only one that has to register who I work for, what they pay me, and what bills I'm working on.But I can tell you, we spend a lot of time in conference rooms just like this, guys like Tony [Fratto] sit there. He's getting paid by the same client I am, and we talk about how we're going to work with think tanks and conservative or liberal editorial boards, so we can go to the Hill and distribute their editorials to win the day. So, when I see, you know, us kind of sitting up here like in an ivory tower, pretending like we're going to fix the free-market system, I just shake my head, 'cause I think my clients hire guys like me to help them and navigate the most complex and intricate web of b.s. in the world. And I can make their lives more efficient, 'cause I can get on the phone with you in a heartbeat. And I can call guys like Tony. We can advise them to advertise in certain publications or not. And who are we to judge? I guess that's the only thing I would say. How dare we sit up here and judge them when all they're trying to do is live up to the promise to their shareholders to create profits and jobs and sell products, and we're just getting in their way.

National Review Online

The NSA Fight

The Michigan congressman determined to stop the NSA’s abuses wins a battle against House GOP leaders.

Rep. Justin Amash (R., Mich.)

On Friday, July 19, on the House floor, Majority Leader Eric Cantor pulled Representative Justin Amash aside, ushering him into a meeting with whip Kevin McCarthy and three of Amash’s congressional allies.

Cantor pressed Amash to withdraw his amendment to stop the National Security Agency from collecting logs of every American’s phone calls and said he would work to provide a vote on the issue in a future bill.

But several of Cantor’s top aides, who were also present, gave what Amash thought was a more threatening overture: There’s bound to be a procedural technicality we can use to kill the amendment, they said, and we’re going to find it.

The meeting, which has not been previously reported, underscores the efforts of some in House leadership to stop the proposal, which was offered as an amendment to the Department of Defense appropriations bill, from coming to a vote, according to documents reviewed by National Review and to interviews with participants. The amendment had already been through the procedural wringer, with the House parliamentarian’s office giving an initial approval that it was “in order” to change its mind only as outside parties, including GOP leadership, weighed in.
Indeed, prior to an all-important Rules Committee meeting that would decide whether the amendment ever got to see the light of day, the measure was headed for a premature death.
It was Speaker John Boehner who ultimately saved it, giving the amendment the green light after discussing it for the first time with Amash on the House floor on Monday night — minutes before the Rules Committee had been slated to kill it.

Boehner never told Amash why he would give the Michigan Republican, of all people, the privilege of the vote. Amash had helped lead a failed coup attempt against the speaker in January, and Boehner was so deeply opposed to the amendment he took the rare step of voting against it. (By tradition, the speaker doesn’t usually vote.)

But one animated and colorful conversation later, the amendment was en route to the House floor, prompting panic from its opponents on the House Intelligence Committee, who later that night announced an emergency classified briefing with General Keith Alexander, the NSA director, the next day.

Craig Loston leading LSU secondary

  • photo

LSU

Camp start: Aug. 5
Opener: TCU in Dallas on Aug. 31 (ESPN at 9 p.m. EDT)
Fun fact: With 85 victories in eight seasons, Les Miles is the second winningest coach in program history. Charlie McClendon won 137 games with the Tigers from 1962 to '79.

SEC Series

Coming Sunday: Ole Miss

LSU senior Craig Loston was once the nation's top safety prospect out of Eisenhower High School near Houston, where he also enjoyed acting.

"Greased Lightning" and "The Wiz" were two plays in which Loston appeared, but a more appropriate production now would be "The Last of the Mohicans." After having a staggering 12 defensive backs in the last seven NFL drafts, the Tigers are turning to Loston to keep them stout in the secondary for respected coordinator Johnny Chavis.

"Being around guys like Patrick Peterson, Morris Claiborne and Chad Jones, you get a feeling of how it's supposed to be around here," Loston said at SEC media days. "Those guys showed me the way to do it, and I think it's pretty much my turn now. I'm the only older one back there, so I would say it's up to me.

"I'm going to take pride in trying to keep that tradition going."

The Tigers have produced at least one defensive back in each of the past seven drafts, with LaRon Landry (2007), Peterson ('11), Claiborne ('12) and Eric Reid ('13) selected in the first round. Reid was followed this past April by cornerbacks Tyrann Mathieu, who was dismissed by coach Les Miles before last season, and Tharold Simon.

Reid and Simon skipped their senior seasons, leaving the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Loston to head a group whose only other returning starter is sophomore cornerback Jalen Mills. They are expected to be joined in the first-team lineup by junior safety Ronald Martin and sophomore corner Jalen Collins.

"Since I've been here, guys have gone on to the NFL, so this hasn't been anything new," Loston said. "We do a great job of recruiting people to where it's like the people didn't even leave."

LSU has eight starters back offensively from a team that went 10-2 before losing the Chick-fil-A Bowl to Clemson, including quarterback Zach Mettenberger and receivers Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry. Off-the-field troubles may claim the career of top returning rusher Jeremy Hill, but the Tigers still have Kenny Hilliard, who rushed for 464 yards and 5.7 yards a carry last season, and Alfred Blue, who was averaging 112 yards a game a year ago before suffering a season-ending knee injury in week three.

Only four starters return on defense after six juniors left early, and Loston thought about being the seventh after compiling 91 career tackles and returning an interception 100 yards in last year's 37-17 win over Mississippi State.

"I came close, but there were some things I wanted to do that I had not done yet," he said. "I want to graduate, and I'm a class away from graduating [in theater design]. I want to be an All-American, so this season I'm going to work on that.

"I just wasn't ready. I love LSU, and I love this environment."

Another motivation was how last season ended, as the final three opposing quarterbacks -- Bo Wallace of Ole Miss, Tyler Wilson of Arkansas and Tajh Boyd of Clemson -- each threw for more than 300 yards against LSU.

The Tigers open this season against TCU in Dallas and again face an incredibly taxing schedule within the SEC, having to play Georgia and Florida out of the East Division. For Loston and Miles, it's just more of the same.

"We're looking forward to the challenge, to be honest," Miles said. "Our culture is to bring it on. It's what we do. We look forward to lining up against the best in the East and the best in the West. I like us in any game."

Said Loston: "That's one of the great things about LSU football. You can always expect us to be a great team."
