Pete Finney is a treasure, an institution, and all other accolades that you can add. It is ashame that the Times Picayune let this man go. He is Times Picayune sports and was there before the nerdy, wimpy bean counters there made the decision to jettison him.

Peter Finney is a very skilled writer of any subject. His experience from writing a life time of sports in Louisiana is of course invaluable to the public looking for information about sports in Louisiana. When I hire people to do a good job for my business I look for the intangibles of that person to thoroughly know what he is doing. Pete Finney is one of them rare people who has that kind of writing ability. I can not for the life of me understand how the Time Picayune let him go from that newspaper. And job skills aside, he is also really an exceptional human being.
