Are you next to be wiretapped as I wonder if Nick Saban is really 'the devil' as I'm walking to go eat some shrimp at Ruth's Chris New Orleans-Style BBQ Shrimp

Tinker:

President Obama never answer the question that the reporter asked at the white house Rose Garden 5/16/2013.

first  Question, Whether the White House had any prior knowledge of Tea Party and other organizations being given extra scrutiny in their applications for tax-exempt status before the White House counsel’s office was informed about the review last month.

Answer "I can assure you that I certainly did not know anything about the I.G. report before the I.G. report had been leaked ... through the press," said Obama. "Typically, the I.G. reports are not supposed to be widely distributed or shared. They tend to be, you know, a process that everybody's trying to protect the integrity of. But, what I'm absolutely certain of is that the actions that were described in that I.G. report are unacceptable."

He never answered the question folks: The reporter never ask him about the I.G. report, something is very wrong Ladies and Gentleman?

Because he looks like that he is hiding the truth:

President Barack Obama could very well be the first thug from Chicago who is trying to govern America with intimidation so it
truly does seem like that the American people need a special prosecutor investigating these selfsame white house scandals?

Obama evades question on White House knowledge of IRS targeting

President Barack Obama dismissed calls for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the IRS scandal, and evaded a question asking if White House officials knew of the IRS targeting of conservative political groups.

“I can assure that I certainly did not know anything about the [inspector general] report before the IG report had been leaked through the press,” he told reporters during a Thursday lunchtime press conference held in the White House Rose Garden.

Obama’s evasion will likely spur public suspicions that White House officials knew about, or even supported, the IRS targeting.

When asked about a special prosecutor, Obama said he would work with investigations begun by Congress and the Department of Justice.

“Between those investigations, I think we will be able to figure out exactly what happened … and we’re going to be able to implement steps to fix it, and that is the main priority we have,” he said.

“I have complete confidence” in Attorney General Eric Holder, he said in response to a question about the simultaneous scandal over the department’s investigation of phone calls by reporters working for The Associated Press news agency.

Special prosecutors are appointed by the attorney general, not by Congress
.
A special prosecutor would be a political nightmare for the White House, because the prosecutor would have the ability to investigate many people and offices to see if they knew — or even aided — the IRS actions.

Jake Tapper: Obama Is 'Squashing Freedom Of The Press' (VIDEO)

The Huffington Post  |  By Posted: 05/16/2013 2:04 pm EDT

CNN's Jake Tapper took aim at President Obama's policies towards the media on Thursday.

Obama addressed the scandal surrounding the Justice Department's secret probe into the Associated Press during his press conference with the prime minister of Turkey. Journalists and press watchdogs have been outraged by both the breadth and the covert nature of the probe. The Justice Department has justified the investigation as part of its crackdown on national security leaks that wind up in the media.

Obama said he respected the role of a free press and voiced support for a new media shield bill, but added that he made "no apologies" for going after leaks:

"When we express concerns about leaks at a time when I have 60,000 troops in Afghanistan and intelligence officers around the world who are in risky situations in outposts that are sometimes as dangerous as the outpost in Benghazi, part of my job is protecting what they do, while still accommodating for the need for the public to be informed."
Speaking just after the press conference wrapped up, Tapper said this was not a worthy response.

"That's what every president says. Every president, whether it's Nixon with the Pentagon Papers or George W. Bush with the NSA wiretapping story, every president exerts, 'I'm doing this to keep you safe.' A lot of people in the public, they say that's enough, and they believe it, but the truth of the matter is that it's not enough of an answer in and of itself. That's why there is Congressional oversight of the executive branch. It's not enough just to say we're doing it to keep you safe, because the moment the American people cede that territory, then presidents can do whatever they want."
When Wolf Blitzer noted that Attorney General Eric Holder had said that the leak that the AP reported was a very dangerous one, Tapper interrupted, saying, "That's what they always say." He then added, "This administration has used the Espionage Act more times to go after whistleblowers ... more than every other administration combined. So this is a very aggressive administration when it comes to squashing freedom of the press."

Congressman: Justice Dept. Wiretapped the House of Representative's Cloak Room

6:14 AM, May 16, 2013 • By DANIEL HALPER

Send to Kindle
California congressman Devin Nunes made the claim yesterday that the Justice Department wiretapped telephones in the House of Representative's Cloak Room, an exclusive part of the Capitol where members are able to privately interact with one another. Nunes made the claim on Hugh Hewitt's radio show.

"I don’t trust the Department of Justice on this," said Hewitt, referring to the subpoenas the Justice Department to obtain the Associated Press's phone records. "Do you, Congressman Nunes?"

"No, I absolutely do not, especially after this wiretapping incident, essentially, of the House of Representative. I don’t think people are focusing on the right thing when they talk about going after the AP reporters. The big problem that I see is that they actually tapped right where I’m sitting right now, the Cloak Room," Nunes respond.

Hewitt was surprised. "Wait a minute, this is news to me," he said.

"The Cloak Room in the House of Representatives," Nunes repeated.

Hewitt again expressed surprise. "I have no idea what you’re talking about," said the radio host. Hear and read more...http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/congressman-justice-dept-wiretapped-house-representatives-cloak-room_724606.html

Napoleon I of France

Napoléon Bonaparte (15 August 17695 May 1821) was a French military general who rose to prominence in the French Revolution, becoming the ruler of France as First Consul of the French Republic (11 November 1799 - 18 May 1804), and then Emperor of the French and King of Italy under the name Napoleon I (18 May 1804 - 6 April 1814, and again briefly from 20 March - 22 June 1815).

Napoleon Quotes:

To do all that one is able to do, is to be a man; to do all that one would like to do, would be to be a god.

What is a throne? — a bit of wood gilded and covered in velvet. I am the state...

  • I may have had many projects, but I never was free to carry out any of them. It did me little good to be holding the helm; no matter how strong my hands, the sudden and numerous waves were stronger still, and I was wise enough to yield to them rather than resist them obstinately and make the ship founder. Thus I never was truly my own master but was always ruled by circumstances.

  • He who fears being conquered is certain of defeat.
    • p. 146
The greater the man, the less is he opinionative, he depends upon events and circumstances.

Is Alabama really a dynasty??  (Posted on 5/14/13 at 2:39 pm)

Alot of media folk seem to think 3 championships is a dynasty, and I've seen the term "mini-dynasty" attached to USC '03-'05 and Miami '00-'02 over the years. But the question on this thread is....is Alabama a dynasty?

IMO, there are only 3 modern dynasties:

FSU (from '87-2000)
Miami (from '83-'94)
Nebraska (from '92-'01)

I think Alabama's run is great and all, but I don't think its got the longevity (yet) to match the above dynasties...I do think Alabama is on the right track to be mixed in with the above teams though. FSU played in 5 title games, winning 2, and stayed in the top 4 for 14 consecutive years!!!! Miami won 4 National Championships, and played in 6. They literally changed the game with speed and swagger. Nebraska won three National Championships, and played in 5 Title games. All three teams dominated their conferences for a lengthy time span and had multiple Heisman winners.

I also think its hard to call USC '02-'08 a dynasty, especially with the taint Reggie Bush left...I think they were a "mini-dynasty" on the verge of being a real one, but the Bush taint set in, and they were also left out of title shots as well in '07 and '08

The further you go back in history, the less credibility you have as well IMO. Sorry, but dynasties back then just are not the same as football today...in that sense, Alabama has done a lot more than something like Notre Dame '41-'49, or the Army Black Knights "dynasty". The level of competition has jumped, and the talent is so much greater, its a different game now.

So what do yall think?

Coach calls Nick Saban 'the devil'

Updated: May 15, 2013, 8:54 PM ET
ESPN.com news services

A Florida assistant has become the latest SEC coach to compare Nick Saban to the devil.

SEC blog

SEC ESPN.com's Chris Low and Edward Aschoff write about all things SEC football in the conference blog.
More:
• Blog network: College Football Nation

Tim Davis, the Gators' offensive line coach, made the remarks about Saban while comparing him to Florida coach Will Muschamp during a booster club meeting Tuesday.

Davis and Muschamp both worked as assistants under Saban with the NFL's Miami Dolphins. In an attempt to compliment Muschamp, Davis likened the Gators' offensive approach to that of Saban, who has led Alabama to consecutive BCS championships.

"I've always wanted to work with Will [Muschamp]," Davis said. "Will's got a plan. Will coached under the devil himself for seven years. I only did three. He did seven. And his DNA is not any different than Nick."

Davis' comments came less than four months after Vanderbilt coach James Franklin referred to Saban as "Nicky Satan" during a high school sports banquet. Franklin later apologized for his comment, claiming it was meant strictly as a joke.

Davis also addressed Saban's personality, claiming Muschamp is a warmer character.

"[Muschamp]'s like the other guy, but he's got a personality," Davis said. "He'll smile at you. He'll talk to you. You understand? That's what he's all about. That's Will. I'm proud to work for him."

Muschamp brought in Davis prior to last season to help implement a run-oriented offensive attack at Florida, which went 11-2 and played in the Sugar Bowl.

NOLA.com presents

New Orleans Saints

Akiem Hicks starting out as defensive end in New Orleans Saints' new 3-4 defense

Among the more noteworthy nuggets from Wednesday night was the fact that Akiem Hicks is starting out at defensive end in the New Orleans Saints' new 3-4 defense. Originally, the Saints had tentatively planned to start Hicks at nose tackle, then cross-train him at end. But they probably shifted gears after drafting nose tackle John Jenkins.

It shouldn't matter too much with Hicks, who figures to play all three defensive line spots as a heavily-used backup. I picture him being used in a similar way that former LSU lineman Ricky Jean-Francois was used with the San Francisco 49ers in recent years (a comparison that Hicks agreed with). Hicks said he expects to play all three spots, which he said he had always done in the past while playing in three-man fronts in college.

Previously, I noted that second-year lineman Tyrunn Walker will also start out at nose tackle. Also on Wednesday night at guard Ben Grubbs' charity softball game, linebacker Martez Wilson specified that he is starting out at the strong-side linebacker spot (over the tight end), where he'll compete for playing time with newly signed Victor Butler. But those outside linebacker spots can also be interchangeable.

The one player I'm still most curious to find out about is veteran Will Smith, who has been a 4-3 end throughout his career. I think Smith will be a good fit as a 3-4 end, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him used as the "joker" outside linebacker at times since that position lines up as an edge rusher on the line of scrimmage so often.

Dandy Don's LSU Sports Report

Good morning, Tiger Fans,

The No. 2 LSU baseball team will return to action tonight when they take on a very capable, 14th ranked Ole Miss team at 6:30 p.m. CT in a game that will be televised by ESPNU. As usual, sophomore left-hander Cody Glenn (5-2, 2.78 ERA, 68.0 IP, 16 BB, 33 SO) will get the start for the Tigers in Game 1, but in a bit of a twist junior right-hander Kurt McCune will get the start in Game 2 so that Aaron Nola can be saved for the Tigers first game in the SEC tournament which gets underway Tuesday.

Here’s info on this week’s game times, TV coverage and pitching match-ups.

Game 1- Thursday (Today) 6:30 pm. CT (ESPNU)
LSU – So. LHP Cody Glenn (5-2, 2.78 ERA, 68.0 IP, 16 BB, 33 SO)
UM – Jr. RHP Mike Mayers (4-4, 2.87 ERA, 75.1 IP, 29 BB, 59 SO)

Game 2 - Friday 7 p.m. CT (Cox Sports Television)
LSU – Jr. RHP Kurt McCune (3-1, 3.38 ERA, 13.1 IP, 4 BB, 8 SO)
UM – So. RHP Sam Smith (3-0, 3.15 ERA, 54.1 IP, 15 BB, 27 SO)

Game 3 - Saturday 12 p.m. CT (CBS Sports Network)
LSU – Jr. RHP Ryan Eades (8-1, 2.29 ERA, 82.2 IP, 23 BB, 69 SO)
UM – Jr. RHP Bobby Wahl (9-0, 1.43 ERA, 88.0 IP, 40 BB, 73 SO)

The LSU-Ole Miss series goes all the way back to 1906 and the Tigers lead it 166-142. LSU has won 10 of its last 14 regular-season series with Ole Miss, including a 2-1 series victory last season in Oxford. The Tigers also defeated the Rebels, 11-2, in an elimination game in last year’s SEC Tournament. The Rebels’ last series victory over the Tigers in Alex Box Stadium came in 1982, when Ole Miss won two of three to close the season.

In football news, a couple of days ago I mentioned that Quantavious Leslie had passed his Algebra class and was cleared to enroll at LSU, and yesterday I learned that his enrollment could come very soon. Leslie will graduate from Hinds Community College tomorrow and could be at LSU next week in time for the start of summer school. Last year LSU had a lot of trouble in the red-zone, and I suspect that Leslie will be a key part of the Tigers' improvement in that aspect of the game. At 6'4", Leslie ought to be a great weapon to utilize in a red-zone fade route.

In other news related to LSU football, according to this article by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, TCU has suspended Devonte Fields for the first two games of the 2013 season, meaning he'll miss the season opener against LSU. Fields (DE, 6'4", 240) is the best player on the TCU team and the best defensive player in the Big 12 conference, and his absence will be a big break for a Tiger offense that will be taking the field for the first time under the direction of Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron.

Now turning to football recruiting... Parkway quarterback Brandon Harris has announced via Twitter that he will commit to his school of choice on July 18th. What's particularly interesting about this is that LSU is currently courting three quarterbacks for 2013 in Harris (6'1", 185, No. 15 on my list of Top LA Football Prospects for 2014), Mason Rudolph (6'4", 210, Rock Hill, SC), and DeShone Kizer (6'5", 207, Toledo, Ohio), and the later two are expected to make their decisions in late June or early July (before Harris). Last week Coach Cam Cameron went to Parkway to meet with Harris and called him the best quarterback he has seen (presumably the best he has evaluated this spring), and later that day Coach Miles extended a scholarship offer to Harris. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out and how many QBs LSU takes in this class. My guess would be two. With Anthony Jennings and Hayden Rettig from the 2013 signing class, and two of the three aforementioned signal callers, LSU could be in great shape at QB for the foreseeable future.

In softball news, the No. 9 national seed Tigers softball team will begin NCAA tournament play tomorrow when they take on Central Connecticut State at 6 p.m. The game will not be televised but can be heard on 104.9 FM. Below is the schedule for the Baton Rouge Regional.
