Our TV Network reporters are becoming a problem

Tinker:

The outrageous behavior of the TV News media, President Obama, and the Tweedledee and Tweedledum political institutionalize insiders in Washington DC is getting the American people fighting spirit up on their hind legs lately big time.

I think that the American people are about to sweep the politicians now working in Washington DC out in record numbers, like never before. The turn around of the American people's feelings towards their political leaders inside Washington DC is going to be one for the records book, I kid you not.

Stunning Leaked Voicemail: This is Exactly What Bribery Sounds Like

One Congresswoman slipped up and left behind evidence of a terrifyingly corrupt system.

This message was left for a lobbyist.  That’s right, Norton literally called a lobbyist with the sole intention of squeezing out some money.

After this voicemail hit the web, Norton released a statement saying that requesting campaign contributions was completely “above board and ‘standard.’” According to current laws, scarily enough, she’s right. However, there’s a reason that this voicemail received major press. In any other country in the world, Norton’s actions would be labeled as blatant solicitation of a bribe, (or maybe baksheesh over in Asia) but in the Washington DC, she was just playing the standard game. Taking money from the interests they regulate is how our representatives stay afloat in a system dominated by big money. It’s also how the wealthy special interests are able to keep our politicians on a tight leash.  Want to cut the cord? Check out the plan at www.represent.us.

Billy Graham: If America Ever Needed God’s Intervention, It’s Now

Aug. 4, 2013 8:09am

Renowned evangelist minister Billy Graham said America is in need of a true spiritual awakening.

“If ever there was a time this country needed the intervention of God, it is now,” Graham wrote in a letter published on his Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website. “We can and should pray for America as a whole, but remember that when God sets out to change a nation, He begins by changing people. It starts with individuals.”

Graham, who will turn 95 in November, said his advanced age has slowed him down, “but there are still many things I can do, and one of them is pray.”

“I’ve been praying fervently that we might have a fresh spiritual awakening in America,” he wrote.

Graham is completing a new “My Hope America” project that will debut in November featuring testimonies of people who have had their lives transformed by faith.

“Please pray that God will work in the completion of this program and that He will use it in a mighty way. … Most of all, we ask for your prayers and participation so that the hope of the Gospel can touch not only people across the nation, but people you personally know and care about,” Graham wrote. “The Bible says, ‘Let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely’ (Revelation 22:17). Join me in asking God to give people that thirst.”

Terror threat prompts high-level meeting at White House

By Jonathan Easley - 08/04/13 08:39 AM ET

The White House said top administration officials gathered late Saturday over a terror threat that provoked the State Department to close more than 20 diplomatic posts and issue a worldwide travel alert.

National Security Adviser Susan Rice chaired a meeting with 12 administration officials including the secretaries of State, Defense and Homeland Security and the directors of the FBI, CIA and NSA, according to a White House statement.

Rice and Lisa Monaco, the assistant to the president for homeland security and counterterrorism, then briefed President Obama on the latest developments. On Friday, a White House official said that Obama had instructed his national security team to take every appropriate step to protect Americans after warnings from foreign officials, movement in the al Qaeda ranks, and new intelligence reports suggested a specific terrorist threat to U.S. and Western targets.

“The President is being updated on a potential threat occurring in or emanating from the Arabian Peninsula,” the official said. “The President has directed his National Security Team to take all appropriate steps to protect the American people and will continue to be updated on a regular basis.”

Early Sunday, CNN reported that U.S. military forces, mainly combat-equipped Marines, were on heightened alert in southern Spain and Italy and in the Red Sea.

Graham: Al Qaeda 'on steroids' since Benghazi attack

By Jonathan Easley - 08/04/13 10:31 AM ET

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday called the latest terror threat “scary,” and said that an emboldened al Qaeda has been “on steroids” since the last year's deadly strike on the U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya.

“I had a briefing with the vice president and it is scary,” Graham said. “Al Qaeda is on the rise in this part of the world.” “They attacked our consulate, they killed an ambassador, a year has passed, and nobody has paid a price,” he added. “After Benghazi, these al Qaeda types are really on steroids thinking we’re weaker and they’re stronger.”

Top administration officials huddled at the White House late Saturday over a terror threat that provoked the State Department to close more than 20 diplomatic posts and issue a worldwide travel alert.

According to multiple media reports, U.S. officials say they’ve obtained new intelligence suggesting that al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula is in the final stages of planning attacks against a handful of U.S. and Western targets across the Middle East and Northern Africa.

“The goal is to drive us out of the Middle East…they want to drive the West out of the Mideast and take over these Muslim countries and create an al Qaeda-type religious entity in the place of what exists today,” Graham said. “So this is an effort to terrorize us, to drive us out of the Mideast, and if we ever take the bait and try to come and home and create fortress America, there will be another 9/11.”

The South Carolina Republican said the Obama administration has handled this latest round of threats properly after having “dropped the ball” on Benghazi.

“I appreciate what the administration is doing, they’re taking the right approach to this,” he said. “Benghazi was a complete failure – the threat was real, the reporting was real and we basically dropped the ball. We’ve learned from Benghazi, thank God, and the administration’s doing this right.”

The security precautions by the Obama administration underscore the impact of the Benghazi strike, which fell on the 11-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens.

The last time State Department officials issued such forceful warnings of a terrorist strike was prior to that assault. Republicans have accused the Obama administration of being unprepared for the Benghazi attack.

Marilyn Monroe called Jackie Kennedy at the White House and confessed she was having an affair with her husband, to which the First Lady responded 'that's great... I'll move out and you'll have all the problems,' according to an explosive new book.

In 'These Few Precious Days: The Final Year of Jack with Jackie,' author Christopher Andersen claims Jackie 'knew everything' about Jack's cheating and turned a blind eye, but his relationship with Marilyn 'seemed to bother her the most.'

And she was right to fear the bombshell actress, because Marilyn's sights were firmly set on becoming the President's second wife.
x Affair: A new book claims Marilyn Monroe, pictured with JFK, called Jackie Kennedy and confessed she was sleeping with the President

Marilyn, who long grappled with psychiatric and emotional problems as well as drugs and alcohol, was convinced JFK was about to leave Jackie for her, her friend Jeanne Carmen reportedly revealed.

'Can't you just see me,' she asked Carmen, 'as first lady?'

According to excerpts of the book, published by The New York Post today, Peter Lawford claimed Marilyn called Jackie and told her she was sleeping with Jack, and that he'd allegedly promised to leave his family for her.

'Marilyn, you'll marry Jack, that's great,' Jackie responded, according to the account. 'And you'll move into the White House and you'll assume the responsibilities of first lady, and I'll move out and you'll have all the problems.'
s Revelations: The revelations are contained in the explosive book 'These Few Precious Days,' pictured

Andersen writes JFK's Air Force aide, General Godfrey McHugh, revealed early on that 'Jackie knew about his women' and her friend Ralph Martin agreed. 'You know, in the end Jackie knew everything. Every girl. She knew her rating, her accomplishments . . .'

However, she didn't take his cheating lightly.

Jack's close friend, George Smathers, said Jackie was 'damn mad' about his fooling around, but she was willing to look the other way as long as he was careful and didn't humiliate her.

Jackie reportedly feared her own sexual inadequacies were pushing Jack into the arms of other women.

Jackie knew: The book claims that Jackie, pictured left with JFK and daughter Caroline in 1960, knew about his affairs, but his relationship with Marilyn Monroe, right, concerned her most

But she complained of the President's love-making to her long-time confidant Dr. Frank Finnerty, claiming 'he just goes too fast and falls asleep.'

Aside from the ladies, Andersen offers a fascinating insight into JFK's dependence on drugs.

His physician Max Jacobson, known as Dr Feelgood, administered high-dosage amphetamine shots laced with steroids to the president on a regular basis, the book claims, and even the first lady.

Dr. Max's four-times-weekly injections worried other physicians who believed they might react with the dozen or so other drugs Jack was taking for his other health woes.

Gore Vidal reportedly said he was 'horrified' to learn Dr Feelgood was treating the President and, according to the book, told Jackie to 'Watch out' because 'Max drove several people mad.'

Rush Limbaugh’s Devastating Definition of ‘Liberalism’ (Plus: He Is Celebrating a HUGE Career Milestone)

Aug. 2, 2013 9:30pm

Rush Limbaughs Devastating Definition of Liberalism file

Conservative talk show radio host Rush Limbaugh on Friday broke down “liberalism” in a detailed-yet-simplistic way for his listeners.

Limbaugh argued that “in a free country, people will not choose liberalism.”

“If they want to eat salt, they’ll eat it. If they want to eat trans fats, they’ll eat it. If they want to eat beef, they’ll eat it,” he explained. “The only way liberals can get you to live the way they want you to is to deny you freedom to do what you want to do. And they’re not happy with you living and thinking in ways other than the way they live and think. You must conform.”

The undisputed king of talk radio also claimed that “liberals cannot survive in an unrigged contest in the arena of ideas.” That’s because, according to Limbaugh, “they are not about ideas.”

“Liberals are not about choice; they are about imposition. The way they live, the way they believe, must be imposed on people, otherwise they won’t do it on their own,” he added. “It’s taken them 50, 60 years to get to this point of conditioning people, of taking hold of the education system, the university, academia system, the media. It’s taken a long time to condition people not to stand up for themselves, not to exercise freedom, not to speak outside the acceptable norms. What is political correctness but speech censorship, is all it is.”

Listen below via the Daily Rushbo:

In unrelated news, Limbaugh also celebrated an incredible 25 years broadcasting on the EIB network on Friday.

“[I]t’s about 24 and a half years longer than the Drive-By Media forecast that it would last. And 25 years and nine months longer than the Democrat Party predicted or hoped that it would last,” he reflected on his radio show.

Feel free to congratulate Rush on his incredible career…so far!

Dandy Don's LSU Sports Report

Good morning, Tiger Fans. The 2013 LSU football team’s preseason starts today as Coach Miles will welcome the team to camp and address the media before getting started with practice tomorrow morning.

With the 2013 season quickly approaching, today I’ll briefly touch on five areas of the LSU offense that should be better this year.

1. Senior quarterback Zach Mettenberger – As I’ve mentioned before, it’s now or never for Mettenberger as he has one final chance to prove that he is capable of not only leading the Tigers to a championship, but that he has what it takes to play quarterback at the next level. Few question Mettenberger’s tools, but he needs to become more consistent and make better decisions. With a year of SEC play under his belt and the new direction of Coach Cameron, I think we’ll see an improvement from the signal caller, and the following items will only help.

2. Stacked offensive line – It will be interesting to see in the coming weeks if Jerald Hawkins is actually ready to assume that right tackle spot. I’ve heard rumblings that Hawkins is ready to be an everyday player, and if so I think we’re in for a dominant season from the boys in the trenches. Hawkins at right tackle would allow for Vadal Alexander (last year’s starter at the position) to potentially move to the open left guard position. Some believe Alexander is best suited for guard at his size, and it would be nice to have a big guard with feet like Alexander’s. Junior La’El Collins will assume the left tackle position and I expect a huge season from him as he moves to his natural position protecting the blind side of the quarterback. Trai Turner returns at right guard and should be an All-SEC performer. Elliot Porter and true freshman Ethan Pocic will continue to battle for the center position, where I expect Porter to hold off the talented freshman, if Porter can stay healthy. Throw in veteran Josh Williford who can play just about every position on the line if needed, and you have yourself a very intriguing group.

3. Balanced receiver group – Last year’s leading receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry are returning, but it’s a couple of new faces that have me excited about this group being much improved this season. Beckham and Landry have already proven that they are more than capable receivers, but I feel like the lack of depth at the position forced them to do some things they weren’t necessarily the most effective at. Take for instance the play of Beckham in his freshman season compared to his sophomore season. I believe that having Rueben Randle lined up on the outside allowed for Beckham to use his quickness most effectively in the slot. Last season Beckham was asked to be the main guy and struggled at times, which I think also hindered the production of Landry. Both are better suited to play inside, but LSU lacked that big presence at receiver. The addition of JUCO transfer Quantavious Leslie, redshirt freshman Travin Dural, and true freshman John Diarse could be the big bodies the Tiger passing game has been missing since the departure of Randle. Throw in the potential threat of incoming freshman Desean Smith at tight end, and I think we’ll see a deeper and better LSU receiving corp.

4. The return of a healthy Alfred Blue – With the Jeremy Hill situation still unresolved, I think it’s worth noting that Alfred Blue was who the Tiger staff felt deserved to be the number one back going into last season, and that was with considerably more depth than heading into this season. Blue was on a tear too, as he was the SEC’s second leading rusher before going down early in the season with a knee injury. If he stays healthy this year, expect big things from the senior from Hahnville who has shown tremendous vision and the toughness to finish plays. And if Hill does in fact return to the team, the tandem of Blue and Hill could be one of the strongest in the country.

5. Cam Cameron – Most of you are well aware of the fanfare that resulted from the hiring of Les Mile’s good friend and the former NFL veteran offensive coordinator. There are huge expectations on Coach Cameron this season, but you have to think someone who has the kind of NFL experience that Cameron does can handle it. I think the biggest thing the fan base is hoping for from Cameron is to finally open up the Tigers’ predictable and sometimes frustrating play calling. LSU has never lacked the offensive playmakers in Les Miles’ time at LSU, but since the 2008 season LSU has been too vanilla on offense for many Tiger Fans’ likings. I look for Cameron to shake things up in the vertical passing game and to better utilize the Tigers’ athletic backs and tight ends.

With the season opener against TCU just 27 days away, today we’ll continue our jersey countdown by looking at a former Tiger who wore No. 27 – Jeffery Dale. As I mentioned last year, Dale holds a special place in my memory as he is from my Dad's hometown of Winnfield, LA. (I remember as a young kid going to Winnfield on a Friday so that we could watch Dale and Ricky Chatman play that night, and then get up to go fishing in the morning. Those were the days!) Dale played strong safety at LSU from 1981-1984 and was selected to Second Team All-SEC in 1984. At 6'4", Dale was one of the tallest defensive backs the Tigers have had, but his height didn’t hamper his quickness and agility. Dale played opposite of Liffort Hobley and the two made an outstanding safety combo. One of Dale’s most memorable plays as a Tiger was his 25-yard touchdown interception against Ole Miss in 1984 in a game that LSU went on to win, 32-29. You can relive that play by watching this highlight video in our Media Gallery. Dale’s interception is at the 2:55 mark. (Note: In the video Dale is wearing No. 4. He wore No. 27 as a freshman and sophomore). After his days as a Tiger, Dale was selected in the second Round (55th overall) of the 1985 NFL Draft by San Diego and played for the Chargers from 1985-88. Last I heard, Dale was a director at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

I’ll close by sharing a few articles on former Tigers for you to read with your Sunday morning coffee...

One year removed from the title game a people have already written us off. UGA lost as much as we have and A&M has only been good for one year.

Jeremy Hill to meet with judge

Updated: August 5, 2013, 12:18 AM ET
Associated Press

NEW ORLEANS -- A lawyer for suspended LSU running back Jeremy Hill has arranged a meeting with a judge in Baton Rouge on Monday, when Hill could learn whether he'll remain on probation under terms allowing him to play football.

District Attorney Hillar Moore said Sunday night that state District Judge Bonnie Jackson granted defense lawyer Marci Blaize's request to move a probation review hearing up from Aug. 16.

Hill, who was LSU's top rusher last season, was caught on video punching a man outside a bar last spring. Hill pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery -- a violation of his probation from an earlier misdemeanor.

The purpose of Monday's hearing is for Jackson to review more restrictive terms she attached to Hill's probation -- including a curfew and bar ban -- in May. Jackson also has received a probation revocation motion from prosecutors, and while she has not yet set the date to hear that, it is within the judge's discretion to rule during her review Monday that Hill won't be returning to jail for his late-April probation violation.

If Jackson makes such a ruling, Hill's fate at LSU will be up to coach Les Miles, whose team starts practice Monday.

Blaize said Sunday night that Hill's probation review hearing was moved up to Monday not because of LSU's practice schedule, but because she had a conflict in her schedule on Aug. 16. Blaize said her primary goal is to keep Hill out of jail so he can remain an LSU student and register for class, not so he can make it to football practice.

After LSU players reported for August camp on Sunday, Miles indicated, as he has previously, that he did not expect to take any action on Hill's reinstatement until after it was clear that Hill would remain out of jail. He had hoped to have word by Aug. 16, when a status hearing in the matter had been scheduled. Depending on what Jackson decides on Monday, Miles could decide Hill's fate at LSU earlier.

Miles has otherwise declined to comment on Hill's legal trouble and could not be reached for comment on Sunday night.

Currently, Hill is serving two overlapping two-year probation terms.

Hill's earlier probation stemmed from his January 2012 guilty plea to a misdemeanor stemming from his sexual relationship with a then-14-year-old girl at his high school. He received the second term, along with a second six-month suspended sentence, after his misdemeanor battery plea last month.

After last month's plea, state District Judge Michael Erwin, at the victim's request, ordered Hill and a co-defendant, Robert Bayardo, not to comment publicly about the case.

Prosecutors said the victim, an LSU student, did not ask for jail time. He requested only that Hill and Bayardo share his $750 in medical expenses, not have any contact with him or his family and not comment publicly about the incident on social media or any forum.

The judge accepted those terms.

Bayardo said he did not know Hill and he is not an LSU student. He had no prior criminal record and received one-year of probation.

Jackson's restrictions on Hill's initial probation came in May. Those included a 9 p.m.-6 a.m. curfew and a ban from bars. Erwin ruled that those conditions would apply to his new probationary period, but added he would give Hill the flexibility to stay out later than 9 p.m. when his football schedule demands it, should he be reinstated to the team.

Hill also has been ordered to undergo anger management counseling and perform 50 hours of community service.

Hill rushed for 755 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2012, his freshman season. Hill got increased playing time after season-opening starter Alfred Blue went out with a season-ending knee injury in LSU's third game. Blue has returned this season, as has junior running back Kenny Hilliard.
