Political Comments - to be continued...

Lets have some honest comments. Are Mexicans and black people voting against the interest of the American white people, using the federal government to get free government stuff?

Tinker:

The deliberate over a period of time assembled Democratic collection of block voters, with Black people voting Democratic, around 90 percent. And Mexican people voters voting over 70 percent democratic. Coupled with the white people democrats vote, something like 40 percent. Give the democratic party a divisive political advantage around the big states in America now, and into the near future.

All this talk about getting along with the political opponents of the other party, and not using practices racism is of course according to the voting facts. Nothing but a bull talking game from the Liberal News Media Democratic television show, to control the 40 percent of white people voting with the block vote of Black/Mexican people. Excuse for the 40 percent to keep up their double crossing behavior. So until the American people wise up about the political reality going on in America politics today. This political American charade of hypocrites will continue.

THANK THESE REPUBLICANS FOR OBAMACARE

October 30, 2013
We have Obamacare for one reason and one reason only: For a brief, ghoulish period in recent history, Democrats controlled the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives.

We don't have Obamacare because the public was clamoring for it. We have it because Republicans lost elections.

First, Republicans lost their majorities in the House and the Senate in 2006, thanks to George W. Bush's highly effective "Keep the Base at Home on Election Day" campaign, which consisted of pushing amnesty for illegal aliens.

Then in 2008, Republicans had the bright idea to run crazy-eyed crypt-keeper John McCain for president.

McCain supported: amnesty (until he needed our votes), retroactive Social Security benefits for illegal aliens, free speech-crushing campaign-finance laws, crackpot global warming legislation, criminal trials for terrorists and stem-cell research on human embryos.

He opposed: the Bush tax cuts, a marriage amendment to the Constitution, waterboarding terrorists and drilling in Alaska. Oh, also, he called the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth "dishonest and dishonorable." (As suggested by the subtitle, all this is covered in Never Trust a Liberal Over Three-Especially a Republican)

As a consequence, Democrats won the presidency, as well as huge majorities in Congress. The last time Democrats had controlled the presidency, the House and the Senate was 16 years earlier, back in 1993. Remember what they did back then? The very first thing? (No, Clinton masturbating on an intern came later.) That's right: They tried to pass Hillarycare. Read More »

Dandy Don's LSU Sports Report

Good morning, Tiger Fans, it’s Game Week!

Despite having a bye week, LSU moved up one spot in the AP and USA Today Coaches polls, coming in at No. 10 and No. 11 respectively, while remaining at No. 13 in the BCS poll. The top-5 in the BCS are now Alabama, Florida State, Oregon, Ohio State, and Stanford. SEC teams in the top-25 include Alabama (1), Missouri (8), Auburn (9), LSU (13) and Texas A&M (15). You can check out the complete rankings here.

Before going any further, I'd like to thank all of you who emailed me regarding Part 1 of the Q&A session I posted with college and pro football analyst Mike Detillier yesterday morning. Today I've posted Part 2 of the interview, and in it I ask Mike a lot more about the huge upcoming game in Tuscaloosa against Alabama this Saturday, including what it will take for a Tiger victory. I've also included another link to Part 1 for those of you who missed it yesterday.

Part 1 of 2 - Q&A With Mike Detillier on LSU Early Departures, the Huge Contest in Tuscaloosa, and Much More
Part 2 of 2 - Q&A With Mike Detillier on LSU Early Departures, the Huge Contest in Tuscaloosa, and Much More

As I stated last week, the more I research this upcoming game, the more I feel like it will be an outstanding contest, and the more I like LSU’s changes of pulling off the huge upset. I say, “huge upset,” but really an LSU win shouldn’t be too shocking when you consider how well these two teams match up and the fact that LSU has been more successful against Alabama in the last nine years than any other team. Since 2005, Coach Miles’ first year, LSU has beaten Alabama five times, including three times in Tuscaloosa. In the last six years, Les Miles is 3-3 against Nick Saban in the regular season, and all six games have been extremely competitive. I look for this one to be another great game.

Last night I put together the following chart comparing a few key LSU and Alabama stats. What they show is pretty much what I expected to see. That is, Alabama leads in almost every defensive category (although they do not lead in sacks per game), while LSU leads in most offensive categories (although the trail very slightly in points per game and rushing yards per game.) One stat that shows a key LSU advantage is 3rd down conversions where LSU is second in the nation with a 58% success rate. Continuing that kind of success on third down against Alabama, and keeping LSU's defense off the field as much as possible, is key to LSU having success in Tuscaloosa.
LSU-Alabama Stat Chart 2013
Of course I'll have much more on the game throughout the week including unit-by-unit comparisons and other keys to victory, so be sure to stay tuned.
A few tid-bits in closing:

• Last week was very competitive in our Louisiana High School Football Pickem contest as three users tied for first place - CoachMJ, joeollar, and L Ward Jr. All three users correctly picked 121 of 142 games. With his strong showing, L Ward remains in first place in the overall standings. The deadline for picking this week’s games is Thursday at 5 p.m. If you haven’t yet signed up to play, I encourage you to do so. It's a great way to test your knowledge of Louisiana high school football and it's free to participate. Each week we’ll name a winner, and at the end of the year we’ll give props to the overall winner.

• I’ve decided to include the following rather long but extremely optimistic Reader Comment from longtime DandyDon.com reader and supporter, Charlie Duncan, for your enjoyment. I like the way Charlie thinks!

Reader comments: Hey Scott, LSU can still win the SEC this year. If LSU wins next Saturday, then Georgia beats Auburn the next week, then LSU beats Texas A&M and Arkansas, and finally Auburn beats Alabama.

At that point, LSU is in The SEC Title Game. All they have to is take care either Missouri or South Carolina and it's on to the Sugar Bowl and a win there and LSU ends up with an SEC Title, a BCS Bowl victory and a likely Top 5 ranking to give them momentum for a Top 3 finish in recruiting. You all may have the straight jacket ready for me.

However, I must remind you that a similar scenario occurred in 2001. LSU had just lost to Ole Miss 35-24 to go to 4-3 and people were actually calling for Nick Saban's head. LSU beat Alabama the next week 35-21 in Tuscaloosa, while Ole Miss lost in multiple overtimes to Arkansas 58-56 in Oxford that same weekend. Two weeks later Alabama beat Auburn at Jordan-Hare 31-7. On the Friday after Thanksgiving, LSU outlasted Arkansas 41-38 to set up a winner take all game with Auburn the first week in December at Tiger Stadium. LSU won 27-14 and shocked the football world by beating Tennessee 31-20 to capture the SEC Title. The Vols thought they were headed to Pasadena to play in the National Championship Game against Miami.

LSU went to win the Sugar Bowl 47-34 over Illinois to finish 10-3 and ranked 7th in the country.

That was the beginning of what is now called the Golden Age of LSU football. It also established the Saban Mystique.

It can happen again, folks!! There are similarities to 2001-LSU has just lost to Ole Miss this year also. LSU's next sec opponent is Alabama and it is in Tuscaloosa. LSU closed the 2001 season with 6 straight wins. If LSU runs the table, they will close the 2013 season with 6 straight wins.

The 2001 season ended with a Sugar Bowl victory, and if LSU runs the table, they will close the 2013 season with a Sugar Bowl win.

When this all proves true, I will buy my powerball tickets and enjoy the rest of my life...LOL. Ok, it is far-fetched, but have fun and believe people!! Scott, save this in case I am proved to be correct.

BCS: Alabama still in prime position

November, 3, 2013
By Chris Low | ESPN.com

Alabama might have been off last week, but the Crimson Tide remained in prime position in the latest BCS standings.

For the third straight week, Alabama checked in at No. 1, although Florida State replaced Oregon in the No. 2 spot after a 41-14 win over No. 7 Miami.

The best news for the Crimson Tide is that they really don't need any help. In other words, if they keep winning, they're going to be in the VIZIO BCS National Championship Game with a chance to win their third straight national title.

SportsNation: College Football Top 25

SportsNationFSU jumped over Oregon into the BCS No. 2 spot. Do you agree? What about the rest of the Top 25? Rank 'Em »
Of course, winning out will be anything but a breeze, especially with heated rival LSU, ranked No. 13, coming to town this week. There's still a trip to Auburn to close the regular season, and then potentially the SEC championship game.

Even though Alabama was No. 1 in both of the human polls used in the BCS standings, the Tide did drop to No. 2 in the computer rankings. Florida State moved up to No. 1 in the computer rankings.

Alabama could potentially face three more teams in the top 15 of the BCS standings, which would only bolster the Tide's standing as the No. 1 team if they can win all three.

Missouri and Auburn both jumped into the top 10. Mizzou, coming off a 31-3 rout of Tennessee, shot up to No. 8, while Auburn moved to No. 9 after a 35-17 win at Arkansas.

Five of the top six teams in this week's BCS standings are unbeaten, so the odds remain long that a one-loss SEC team could make it into the BCS National Championship Game this season.

Defense is the tool that Nick Saban uses to stop the other team from scoring too many points. Although the today's college football game TV show has been designed to entertaining the TV public with more and more touchdown. Saban truism is still holding true, because he has the BCS crystal balls to prove it, so you tell me. Defense defense defense.

GUILBEAU: Miles still hanging at No. 2 in SEC coaches rankings

11/4/2013 9:20:56 AM

By GLENN GUILBEAU
Tiger Rag Featured Columnist

BATON ROUGE – With six more wins, Alabama coach Nick Saban will become the first coach in college football history to win three straight national championships. It would also be his fourth in five years – 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013 – at Alabama and his fifth in his last eight seasons as a college coach as he won the 2003 national title at LSU before leaving for two seasons with the Miami Dolphins following the 2004 season.

Not even Bear Bryant won this many titles in such a short period of time.

The first real challenge to Saban’s spin of rings since the 49-42 win at Texas A&M on Sept. 14 will be LSU on Nov. 9. The Tigers are struggling of late and will enter the Alabama game with two losses for the first time since 2008, but Coach Les Miles has had more success against Saban than anyone else since Saban came back to college in 2007.

Bama’s second challenge will be the vastly improved Auburn in Auburn on Nov. 30. And who knows? Maybe Missouri can knock off the Tide in the SEC Championship Game. Quarterback James Franklin will be well recovered from his shoulder injury by then. In fact, he is recovering quickly and may have a few post-injury games under his belt by then.

Saban and Miles are 1 and 2 in the latest SEC coaching rankings. Here’s a look at 1 through 14 entering the stretch run of the 2013 season.

1. NICK SABAN, ALABAMA – Not only is Saban the best in the nation and sure to be remembered as one of the best of all time, he's also starting to get lucky. Of his four national titles, last season's was by far his most fortunate. Wins over LSU and Georgia easily could have gone the other way. LSU was a first down away from winning on offense and one less blown coverage away from holding the lead on defense. Georgia was a timeout or a short gain away.

For the second straight year in 2012, Saban lost a home game late in the season – Texas A&M in 2012, LSU in 2011 – and still somehow got to the national championship game.

Saban also continues to inexplicably draw the breeziest East schedules from the SEC office as if he was the Bear in the old days telling the bowls what team he would like to play. No one performs all the duties of coaching – game day coaching, game week coaching, open week coaching, off-season coaching, recruiting and directing and growing personnel – better.

2. LES MILES, LSU – Imagine, if you will, Saban choosing Drew Brees instead of Daunte Culpepper when he was the Miami Dolphins coach before the 2006 season. He might still be there with a Super Bowl title, and Miles would have at least two national championships instead of one. Chances are, Alabama has no national championships in the last four years if Saban never goes to the Capstone.

Alabama had no national championships between 1993 and 2006 before Saban and none between 1980 and 1991 as well. So LSU would have won it all over Oklahoma State in the 2011 season. And Miles may have won another one last year as a win over a Saban-less Alabama would have put the Tigers in the SEC title game – also known as the BCS semifinal. Remember, Miles was 2-0 against Alabama pre-Saban and is 3-4 against Saban overall.

The harsh reality is Saban leads Miles 4-1 in national championships and 4-3 in head-to-head match-ups. Miles, though, remains the only real challenge to Saban as Urban Meyer got sick and cried "family" on his way out of Florida. In reality, he knew he couldn’t beat Saban, and with what he left Will Muschamp, he also knew he might not be able to beat many others.

Miles was the first coach to beat Saban twice in a row in 2010 and '11 since Steve Spurrier in 2000 and 2001. He is also the only SEC coach to beat Saban three times in only five seasons.

Neither Saban nor Miles has beaten the other more than twice in a row. If that remains true, Miles will beat Saban in Tuscaloosa for the third time this season.

3. MARK RICHT, GEORGIA: He came within inches of a victory over Alabama in the BCS semifinal last year, which means he came within inches of his first national title. He will get it this season. After nearly getting fired in 2010, Richt went 22-6 overall and 14-2 in 2011 and ’12 before running into a string of injuries this season and was 4-3 entering the Florida game over the weekend. He’s still near the top, though.

4. STEVE SPURRIER, SOUTH CAROLINA: After six straight seasons of five or six losses, the former No. 1 coach in the nation continues to prove he can still do it. He put together back-to-back 11-2 seasons entering this season at a place that historically is not a double-digit win program. And he has a chance to win 10 or 11 this season and reach his second SEC title game in four years.

5. KEVIN SUMLIN, TEXAS A&M: He is 30-5 since the beginning of the 2011 season, counting a 13-1 mark at Houston in 2011. Now, we are seeing that Sumlin is not some flash. Despite a myriad of off- and on-field behavioral issues with quarterback Johnny Manziel, Sumlin has kept the team together at 6-2 and 3-2 this season. He also nearly pulled off a major upset over Alabama. The Aggies are headed for another double-digit win season, and there will be more to come if they can keep Sumlin away from the NFL.

6. GUS MALZAHN, AUBURN: A "genius" offensive coordinator who did well last season in his first year as head coach, taking Arkansas State to a 9-3 season. Now, all he’s done in his first year at Auburn is turn a 3-9 and 0-8 outfit into one with a shot at the national championship at 7-1 and 3-1. The Tigers should be 10-1 and 6-1 entering the Iron Bowl.

7. GARY PINKEL, MISSOURI: Mizzou had 15 losing seasons in the 17 seasons before Pinkel. And he put together seven straight winning seasons, including three in double digits, before the Tigers joined the SEC. After a rough opening year in the league last season, Pinkel is showing why he has been the best coach in Missouri history over an extended period of time.

8. HUGH FREEZE, OLE MISS: He turned a 2-10 team into 7-6. Houston Nutt did something similar in his first year, but Freeze looks like a recruiter for the long haul. He can also motivate and win when he has less talent. Case in point: Ole Miss 27, LSU 24 when the Rebels were missing about half their starting defense due to injury.

9. WILL MUSCHAMP, FLORIDA: He went from 7-6 and 3-5 in his first year to 11-2 and 7-1, but he’s headed backwards now at 4-3 and 3-2. With games remaining against South Carolina and Florida State, the Gators could finish barely above .500 again. If that happens, Muschamp will be closer to following in Derek Dooley’s footsteps than Saban’s.

10. DAN MULLEN, MISSISSIPPI STATE: There are hot second-year SEC coaches at Ole Miss and at Texas A&M, but Mullen has put together three straight winning seasons at a place more difficult to do so than Ole Miss or A&M. If he pulls off a 7-4 season this year with the likes of A&M, Alabama and Ole Miss remaining, he should get coach of the year consideration.

11. JAMES FRANKLIN, VANDERBILT: The Commodores could win their last three games against Kentucky, Tennessee and Wake Forest and reach their unprecedented third straight bowl. Of course, two in a row last year was unprecedented.

12. BUTCH JONES, TENNESSEE: A winner for three years at Central Michigan and for the last two of his three years at Cincinnati. That makes him more qualified than the Vols' last two coaches – fly-by-nights Lane Kiffin and Derek Dooley. It is going to take some time on Rocky Top, though. Not a great state for prospects. The Vols could continue to be second division for years regardless of the coach.

13. BRET BIELEMA, ARKANSAS: Bielema put together three straight double-digit seasons at Wisconsin from 2009-11 and four in seven years before deciding to join the big leagues. He needs to put on his big boy pants quick, and in the meantime, shut his mouth.

14.MARK STOOPS, KENTUCKY: A solid defensive coordinator at Florida State and at Arizona, Stoops is learning that he maybe should have waited for a better place to begin his head coaching career.
