What you say that we get a grip on where we are going.

The movie Terminator was a far fetch future fantasy that had computer machines taking over humankind in a battle for supremacy of this world. Well! Now I really don't feel like shrugging that outlook off so easily.

Wow! Please ladies and gentlemen lets give ruling the world a rest, and simply try to live in peace around each other for a change?

After all death is for a very long time.

And of course the drugs that the American people are taking is staggering. I mean everywhere I look I see the young and old people taking a drugs that seem to help them feel better. Good grief! Just how far is taking drudge going?

Holy smokes! The politicians running the American people government is stealing everything that is not nailed down. The entertainment business is getting so vulgar that I have a hard time finding something else to look at on television.

The prices of consumer good is climbing out of my reach to afford it. And the Doctors and Hospitals is putting the sick people into bankruptcy.

Now if all of that is not bad enough. I am ether going to go up in smoke from a madman's nuclear bomb, or get chased up my sidewalk by a mindless robot machine that looks like a animal.

It's a great life guys, and have a nice day looking at the daily news.

Greenwald Gets CNN to Delete Snowden Tweet: ‘Even for You, This Is Remarkably Reckless’

by Matt Wilstein | 11:37 am, December 17th, 2013 65

All it took was one tweet from Glenn Greenwald. At least that’s the way it seemed Tuesday morning after the journalist shamed CNN into deleting a tweet that claimed Edward Snowden had offered to “spy” on the United States for the Brazilian government.
First, CNN sent out the tweet below:

Moments later, Greenwald castigated the company for sending out the “remarkably reckless and false” information:

LSU trying to boost bowl ticket sales

Hawkeyes almost sold out for Outback; LSU halfway there

By Ross Dellenger

rdellenger@theadvocate.com
December 17, 2013

Iowa is outpacing LSU in early ticket sales for the Outback Bowl.

LSU has sold 6,000 of its allotted 12,000 tickets, said Brian Broussard, director of ticket operations at LSU. Iowa has sold more than 10,000 of its 11,500 allotment, said Pam Finke, Iowa’s director of ticket operations.

No. 14 LSU (9-3, 5-3 Southeastern Conference) meets Iowa (8-4, 5-3 Big Ten) in the game Jan. 1 in Tampa, Fla.

Finke expected that the Hawkeyes would be within 1,000 tickets of selling out their allotment by Tuesday. Iowa had sold about 10,250 by Monday afternoon. The school will request more tickets if the demand is high enough, she said.

Broussard admitted that LSU’s ticket sales have been slower than expected, especially for a site named Monday as the host for the 2017 College Football Playoff championship game.

“We’re trying to keep interest in it,” Broussard said. “It’s a great location. We went down on the site visit. It’s probably one of our better … I mean, it was 80 degrees. Everything is centrally located. We’re trying to make everyone aware.”

LSU is using a few promotions to do so.

The LSU athletic department and the Tiger Athletic Foundation is covering ticket costs for students who attended at least three regular-season home games and registered by Sunday. Tickets are $80 each. Broussard said about 300 students took advantage of the free tickets over the weekend.

The university is also distributing a prize each day until Dec. 26 to a fan who bought tickets. Fans can order from LSU’s allotment by visiting lsutix.net or calling the ticket office at (800) 960-8587 or (225) 578-2184 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Most of LSU’s remaining unsold ticket allotment are for the north end zone of Raymond James Stadium, Broussard said. That end zone is famous for the massive pirate ship that overlooks the section of seats.

The school was given only 1,500 tickets along the sidelines of the stadium. Those tickets have been sold.

LSU coach Les Miles weighed in on the slow sales Monday after LSU’s first bowl practice. Asked what he’d tell fans who have not yet bought tickets, Miles said, “They’re going to miss a heck of a game. It’s going to be a wonderful, competitive contest. I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t want to go.”

LSU is responsible for any unsold tickets, a normal bowl practice. LSU last year sold 10,500 of its allotted 16,000 Chick-fil-A Bowl tickets. A Southeastern Conference insurance policy reimbursed LSU for the cost of about 4,000 tickets, but the school still had to pay for $176,300 in unsold tickets.

Exactly Bill Snider: Push aside the middle class for the richer guys. That will sell a lot more Outback Bowl football tickets. Because the more money you spend is what really counts to LSU AD, and LSU football program, right?

I really don't recognize the LSU football program any more. Because all they look like to me now is a bunch of bull talking hypocrites.

All the sideline tickets have been sold. LOL That means you can buy them on stubhub. The tickets that were available should have been available on the sidelines, and stubhub and others could still make their profits with the rest.

And who wants to sit in the end zone? They can't even give them away to the students.

LSU expected to land major commitment Tuesday; Mickey freshman of the week

By: Glenn Guilbeau

BATON ROUGE - The LSU football program is expected to land its first top 100 prospect since the summer on Tuesday as Clifton Garrett of Plainfield South High School in Joliet, Ill., is expected to commit to the Tigers.

Garrett, who is 6-foot-2 and 222 pounds, is the No. 3 inside linebacker in the nation and No. 53 overall prospect, according to Rivals.com. LSU's last top 100 commitment was No. 10 wide receiver and No. 76 overall prospect Trey Quinn (6-1, 200) of Barbe High in Lake Charles on Aug. 17.

Garrett is also considering Ole Miss, Tennessee and Florida, among a host of others, but he has been a strong lean to LSU, according to Michael Scarborough of TigerBait.com.

"LSU will get Garrett on Tuesday," Scarborough said.

Should Garrett committ, LSU will have 16 commitments for the 2014 signing class. The Tigers' next class is ranked No. 15 in the Rivals.com team rankings. LSU's last commitment was No. 11 ranked tailback and No. 144 overall prospect Darrel Williams (6-1, 224) of John Ehret High in the New Orleans area on Dec. 10.

Dandy Don's LSU Sports Report

12/17/13 5:55 am CT

Good morning, Tiger Fans,

Elite linebacker Clifton Garrett of Illinois will announce his school of choice today, and is widely expected to choose LSU. With LSU only holding 15 commitments at this time, many fans are having trouble remaining patient considering all the hype about how good this 2014 recruiting class would be. Personally, I remain extremely confident that this class will indeed be very special, and that Garrette's commitment today will be the first in a series of big-time dominos to fall LSU’s way. The five-star inside linebacker is scheduled to make his announcement at 3 p.m. from his school, and I'll be monitoring the situation. As soon as the word is out, I'll tweet it to those of you who follow DandyDonLSU on Twitter, and then I'll post the news here.

To those of you who enjoy following recruiting as I do, I want to direct you to this video series that Jimmy Smith of NOLA.com began yesterday. Last week, Smith spoke with the top prospect in the nation, Louisiana’s own Leonard Fournette, along with legendary running back Marcus Dupree who was also the most highly recruited player of his day. In the segment of the video that was released yesterday, Smith asks Fournette and Dupree about the pressures of recruiting. In tomorrow’s segment they’ll discuss the evolution of the running back position, and Friday they’ll wrap it up with Dupree’s advice for Fournette. I've got to say, Smith and the folks at NOLA.com are doing an excellent job of covering Louisiana recruiting and I commend them for their efforts.

Five-star Illinois linebacker Garrett commits to LSU

By Ross Dellenger

rdellenger@theadvocate.com
December 18, 2013

LSU has its first five-star commitment.

Illinois linebacker Clifton Garrett gave a verbal pledge to the Tigers on Tuesday in front of a full auditorium at Illinois-Plainfield South High School, becoming the 16th LSU commit of 2014 and the most heralded one of them all.

Garrett is ranked as a top 3 player at his position nationally and the No. 1 player in the state of Illinois, according to all three major recruiting sites.

He’s rated five stars (out of five) by 24/7 Sports and Scout.com and four stars by Rivals.com.

No other LSU commit is rated five stars. His commitment is nonbinding. Players sign binding National Letters of Intent on Feb. 5.

Garrett’s pledge boosts LSU in the team rankings at each site.

The Tigers move from No. 15 to No. 12 in Rivals.com, No. 20 to 13th at Scout.com and No. 12 to 11th at 24/7 Sports.

At his announcement, Garrett, standing in front of a podium, grabbed an LSU hat from within the lectern, slipped it on and then unzipped a jacket to reveal a purple LSU shirt.

“Louisiana State, baby,” he immediately said after the announcement and before an interview that was broadcast live online.

“When I went down for the spring game, I loved it,” he said of LSU. “Every moment of it. It was the spring game and there were people everywhere. I loved the whole atmosphere. I want to play in the SEC with the big boys.”

Clifton Garrett, Johnnie Dixon commit

Updated: December 17, 2013, 7:07 PM ET
By Derek Tyson and Tom VanHaaren | ESPN.comTwo of the nation's top 40 recruits committed to national powers within an hour of each other Tuesday as No. 37 Clifton Garrett pledged to LSU and No. 39 Johnnie Dixon said he's heading to Ohio State.

Four top 100 prospects commit

A wild recruiting day with four top 100 commitments sets up for a made dash to signing day and will have ramifications for the 2014 college season, writes Jeremy Crabtree. Analysis

• Scouts: Garrett perfect for LSU Insider
• Scouts: Dixon is weapon for OSU Insider
• Scouts: Holley's upside big for PSU Insider
• Scouts: Spurrier gets needed DE Insider

Garrett (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South), the nation's No. 3 inside linebacker, chose LSU over Tennessee, Florida and Ole Miss.

"I just love Baton Rouge," Garrett said Tuesday. "The game-day atmosphere is amazing and the people down there are great. The school itself has great academics, and LSU is in the running to win a national championship every year."

LSU's addition of Garrett is significant; he's the only inside linebacker committed to the Tigers. LSU didn't sign an inside linebacker in its 2013 class, either.

For LSU, this could be the beginning of an incredible holiday season. The Tigers are in the running for several top-30 prospects, including No. 1 Leonard Fournette (New Orleans/St. Augustine), No. 7 Adoree' Jackson (Gardena, Calif./Serra), No. 8 Speedy Noil (New Orleans/Edna Karr), No. 11 Tony Brown (Beaumont, Texas/Ozen) and No. 29 Gerald Willis III (New Orleans/Edna Karr).

Johnnie Dixon
Derek Tyson/ESPN.comReceiver Johnnie Dixon of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., committed to Ohio State on Tuesday.
With Garrett in the fold, the Tigers -- who have the nation's No. 13 class in the ESPN rankings -- have 16 verbal commitments, including 12 ranked in the ESPN 300.

Dixon (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Dwyer), a speedy receiver, gave the Buckeyes their second top-50 recruit in as many days. No. 12 Raekwon McMillan (Hinesville, Ga./Liberty County) chose Ohio State on Monday.

It's no surprise that the Buckeyes coveted Dixon, as he will bring a ton of athleticism to their offense. He also has good size, which will present matchup problems for opposing Big Ten cornerbacks.

"[Ohio State] throws the ball," Dixon said. "They put it in the playmakers' hand, and Coach [Urban] Meyer knows what to do with his receivers."

Dixon is the 19th player overall -- and ninth in the ESPN 300 -- to commit to Ohio State, which is No. 8 in the ESPN class rankings.

Earlier Tuesday, DT Thomas Holley (Brooklyn, N.Y./Lincoln), the nation's No. 87 recruit, committed to Penn State.

Defensive end Dante Sawyer (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett), the nation's No. 91 recruit, added to the busy day by committing to South Carolina.

Miles not expecting mass exodus of juniors

Advocate staff photo by BILL FEIG -- LSU defensive tackle Anthony Johnson (90) sacks Florida Gators quarterback Jeff Driskel (6) during the first half.
By Ross Dellenger

rdellenger@theadvocate.com

Les Miles isn’t preparing for a mass exodus this year.

Miles said Monday he’s spoken with “a couple” of juniors about leaving early for the NFL draft, and the coach feels this year’s crop won’t all leave the Tigers like the 2012 crew.

LSU lost 11 juniors to the draft last season, believed to be the most in college football history.

“I think that our guys are going to be confronted with similar situations and similar decisions,” he said, “and I think that there’s a likelihood that there will be a greater reception towards staying and being a part than leaving (for the NFL).”

The Tigers have a half-dozen impact juniors who may be playing in their final game when No. 14 LSU (9-3, 5-3 Southeastern Conference) meets Iowa (8-4, 5-3 Big Ten) in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1.

Receivers Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. and defensive tackles Ego Ferguson and Anthony Johnson and left tackle La’el Collins are projected as second- to third-round draft selections.

Running back Jeremy Hill, a draft-eligible sophomore, is predicted to go between the second and fourth rounds.

Miles said this year’s team did a “very, very good job” handling the departure of the 11 juniors from last season.

“I think we were six plays away from playing in the final game (SEC title),” he said. “I think that we’re awfully close to being that team.”

Underclassmen have until Jan. 15 to declare for the draft. A record 73 underclassmen declared last year, and 52 were selected in one of the seven rounds.

Just six of LSU’s 11 juniors who left early last season are currently on active NFL rosters. Two of those are not on active rosters because of injuries.
