Christmas is celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ:

Think of the great comfort Jesus Christ brought to the very harsh life of the people who were being pushed around by the cruel taskmaster back then. That Jesus Christ brought forgiveness to the people, that God was a merciful and kind God.

Before Jesus, that was not so.

That magical attitude of Jesus Christ who taught the people that the Lord God loved them even after they fell into sin. To simply repent, and come home to him. That they are forgiven because they were created from God's love, and into God's love they can return.
