Krewe of Carrollton Parade
---------
Tinker, As we walked along together young and old living out our lives we must have realized back then and now that we would go through what everyone else goes through. Losing the very people we love to sickness, accident, or events that we simply don't have any control over.
That those memories do seem like only yesterday. When my father in his 70th, chaperoned my Wife and me in our 20th, and her little sister in her preteen years. To a neighborhood Carnival Parade on Carrollton Avenue and Canal St. New Orleans, La. somewhere around 1972-77.
How I loved all three of those people more then I can put into words and remains something that just happens to us when we except our lot in life that we live in real time. Becoming the experiences of the very thing in life that help mature us.
Well, only the sister and I remain still alive today from the people who were walking along together holding hands on that clear cold day going to the Carrollton Carnival Parade in New Orleans all those many years ago.
