Thomas Williams Wow, their economy was based on slavery-free labor for money's sake that they adopted to justify a gracious southern way of life. That is so evil its hard to believe.😕 slaves picking cotton photos.

Thomas Williams The Civil War was about the money the southern made living in the south using slaves. So, in fact, that war was over the South's independence to have Slavery.

- Lee J Crews Thomas Williams I think the south was fighting for state rights and a smaller government but unfortunately part of those state's rights included slavery. I think if the south would have won slavery would still be abolished by now but i can only imagine how far behind we would be now. Maybe just now in the civil rights movement.
