Do Not Abandon Dr. Seuss
by Ettie Kryksman
Whether you are child or moose,
Do not abandon Dr. Seuss.
Do not despair of having fun,
Do not abandon anyone.
Be sure-footed, not foot-loose,
Do not jump on that caboose!
One day you will find a use,
For your old and tattered Dr. Seuss.
Once upon a time of fun,
Once there was no need to shun,
A good man, woman, moose or mouse,
(Unless they were a lousy louse,
Trying to invade your house!)
There is no lousy nor good excuse,
To abandon Dr. Seuss.
There is no good time or season,
To abandon rhyme or reason!
Do not abandon Gerald McGrew,
Hold on tight to Thing 1 and Thing 2.
In a pinch,
You might need a Grinch,
(But beware of Thing 3 or 4,
Should they come knocking at your door!)
Be more acute,
And less obtuse.
Do not abandon Dr. Seuss,
Do not jump on that caboose!
