We had high hopes.

 I had high hopes for Barack Obama, but after I voted for him, I only felt disappointed later.

Barack Obama had his chance to bring this country's population together in a more productive way, reconciling our racial differences better than before, but he went along with the establishment race merchant political machine, making the leaders rich and powerful, and not so much the people. Integrating the wrong way by tearing down the good standards of this country's laws and traditions, and falsely accusing people we don't know. So. Obama failed in my eyes because I was hoping we could get along better by electing the first black American president.
