Early Signing Day Shakeup | Can Lane Kiffin Keep LSU's Top Recruiting Class?

WAFB Channel 9 · The No. 1 defensive lineman in the nation, Richard Anderson, is signing with the LSU Tigers. 5-star recruit “Big Rich” made it official at Edna Karr National Signing Day ceremony.
Lane Kiffin is the right football coach for LSU since Dick Saban, a truly knowledgeable offensive talent with charisma, makes Kiffin a sports celebrity in real time now running the LSU football program, as Jacky Gleason would say. How sweet it is"!

Good morning, Tiger Fans,

It’s here, folks — the early signing period for college football — and things are already popping! More on that in a bit…

To stay up to date on LSU’s signees throughout this 72-hour window, be sure to visit our super-friendly Commitments/Signees Tracker and refresh it often. We’ll mark each player with a check once their signed letter of intent is confirmed. And if you’re on X/Twitter, give @DandyDonLSU a follow, as we’ll keep you abreast of the action there, as well as in our Extra Points.

Last year’s early signing period didn’t bring many twists and turns, but this one will certainly be different in light of the recent coaching changes. So pour yourself a big cup of Joe, and we’ll bring you up to speed on yesterday’s whirlwind of a day in recruiting, what to watch for today, as well as the latest rumblings on the coaching front.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

You’ll notice three new names on our tracker this morning, as LSU picked up a trio of pledges yesterday, including two former Ole Miss commits. First was TE JC Anderson, a 6-foot-7, 240-pound prospect from Decatur, Ill., who ranks as the No. 11 tight end in the country. He’s said to have a strong relationship with new LSU offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. and tight ends coach Joe Cox, who both followed Lane Kiffin from Oxford to Baton Rouge.

Later in the day, LSU flipped a second recruit away from Ole Miss when interior offensive lineman Ryan Miret (6-4, 300) of Miami, Fla., committed to LSU. He’s not ranked extremely high, but he’s evidently someone the new staff thinks very highly of. Miret had been committed to Ole Miss since June.

The day’s third commitment came from wide receiver Brayden Allen, from my hometown’s Lafayette Christian Academy. Allen decommitted from Oklahoma on Sunday and is staying in the boot!

With those three additions, LSU’s commitment total is now at 15 after four players had a change of plans yesterday. Three-star offensive lineman Jalen Chapman of Warren Easton announced he is reopening his recruitment, and a short time later, three-star wide receiver Kervin Johnson Jr. flipped to Ole Miss. Four-star safety Dylan Porter was next to flip and will now sign with Florida, and four-star wide receiver Kenny Darby has reopened his recruitment. Read more - https://www.dandydon.com/ 12/3/2025
