Our country continues to suffer from evil and hate because of men like Strom Thurmond.
Thomas Williams
Another guy who was a racist, who would not change for whatever reason, is not tolerated by people who don't feel that way. I ask you whether you would avoid the company of someone else because of their skin color? If you do, you are racist, and if you don't, you are not racist. Fortunately for me, I was raised in a Port City demography of many colors and nationalities. Walking out my front door, living in New Orleans, not judging being with someone else because of their skin color in the 1940s, the other parts of Louisiana were not raised like me, and they did feel racism in the heart of their parents, who were living by the Jim Crow laws at that time of their birth in the South. Racist, clean, clear through being raised that way. Starting from the Slave trade, looking for free labor to harvest cotton in the south, treating other people inhumanely for profit, turning into perverted evil owners, disciplined black people by terror and fear, or beating from not obeying orders. Until the 1960s in the same South, the population over time was repulsed by that ugly subnormal way of treating other people, choosing not to walk down the same side of the street with bigots who would not change, and was very sorry to have been associated with. Dirty Basterds doing that crazy sh*t.
