The SEC has officially announced a new conference rule that prohibits former NFL players from returning to college football and playing for an SEC program 

Not only did the SEC ban former NFL players, but the conference also took a stand against former NBA/WNBA players

What do the Big 10 and SEC have against LSU Head Coach Lane Kiffin trying to build depth in college football? Do they want all the good teams getting tired in the 3rd and 4th Quarter? The courts said that return was OK, so what is the SEC & Big 10 argument against returning to college? Since the Courts say it is legal, won't the players getting rejected by the Big 10/SEC start suing?

Hasn’t the NCAA already had similar rules? They also have rules about at what age the athlete is when he/she enrolls.
NICE TRY LANE 
The playoff committee needs to announce that any team that plays a player who signed with an NFL team will be ineligible for the playoffs.
They should call it the Lane Kiffin rule.
