Trump's Squeeze Play to End the War in Europe: The Plot Behind Russia, Russia, Russia

Thomas Williams: President Trump has been trying to broker a peace deal between Putin and Zelensky. Ever since Trump was elected president.
Why don't his political party members back him up on just about everything he's trying to do to make that a possibility? And stop the killing. Bringing Putin into a Diesel deal, selling a lot of diesel to the world. So the price of diesel would go down. Seems to be a breaking point between his own party members and Trump.
Why would they not support him doing that? A deal that brings about negotiations and peace to that region? Donald Trump's Republican members seem to be quick to break away from Donald Trump's efforts to fix issues when the press and the Democrats seem to be together against Trump. Does the press run the country instead of the elected president? What's wrong with this country's population that it cannot help their president succeed?
