Good morning, Tiger Fans. The hype is really starting to build for what will be the premier football game played this weekend as the No. 4 undefeated LSU Tigers take on the No. 10 Florida Gators at 2:30 Saturday. The LSU-Florida series has produced a lot of great games, and I have a feeling this weekend’s contest will be another. If you’re like me, you probably don't need any help getting fired up about the game, but in case you do, check out this hype video.
One of my most memorable LSU-Florida games was in 1997. It was the biggest game in Baton Rouge in over a decade. LSU had lost nine straight to Florida, and few expected LSU to win this time around against the reigning national champion No. 1 team in the nation. LSU was 4-1, but had just lost Cecil Collins to a career-ending injury the week before at Vanderbilt. The energy in Tiger Stadium that night was as electric as I can ever remember, and it remained that way the entire contest. After three quarters of play, the game was tied 14-14, but a 31-yard interception return by Cedric Donaldson and an 11-yard run by Herb Tyler early in the fourth quarter was more than the Gators could overcome. Final score LSU 28 Florida 21. You can relive the highlights of this classic game by checking out this video.
Last night I listened to the Les Miles Radio Talk Show and the coach was notably excited about this week’s game. In his opening statements, Coach Miles called the Auburn game a great dress rehearsal for Saturday’s big SEC road game and said his team learned a lot from the experience. He then complimented the Towson team and said that no matter how many times he told his players that Towson was a good team they didn't really buy it. Read more...

Poll: Who can stop Alabama?
October, 4, 2012
By
Edward Aschoff | ESPN.com
With two marquee matchups in the SEC this weekend, the question has to be asked: Can any of these teams stop mighty Alabama?
From the way the top-ranked Crimson Tide has looked through its first five games of the seasons, many think it'll be tough for any team not named Alabama to stop this squad. But no team is truly unbeatable and Alabama has its weakness, even if they are very small.
Still, someone from this weekend has to stand a chance, right?
With No. 4 LSU taking on 10-ranked Florida and No. 5 Georgia battling No. 6 South Carolina, the winners have to get a little more respect when it comes to taking on the Tide.
Will it be LSU? The Tigers haven't looked the part in their last two outings, but stopping the Gators in the swamp would go a long way to rejuvenate this team. If LSU can put together its most complete game of the season, the Tigers should top Florida and regain some of that lost luster. That means getting more production from quarterback Zach Mettenberger and his receivers. LSU then takes on South Carolina at home and Texas A&M on the road before hosting Alabama after a bye week. I don't see how Bama can finish the season ranked in the top 5 based off their schedule.....Cupcake buffet.

We
are only now getting a better view of Nick Sabans 2012 Alabama football
teams ability. So far they indeed look like the cream of the crop. The
very best football team on offense, defense and special teams. A
balanced strong deep college football team. Only a better football team
can beat them. Who is that. I don't see them yet? If they are still
undefeated after this remaining schedule the Crimson tide will win a
back to back BCS College National Championship.:

- are you Penn State fan ? Rutgers? UConn? Notre Dame? Pick an all-star
team from those 4 and you can't beat Bama.
If Bama plays an "average" game, there are very few (if any) teams that can compete with them. Low ppg allowed (great defense), low turnovers, solid kicking game, efficient offense, outstanding coaching. To win a game against Bama, they will have to make several mistakes. Few teams can match up with them, much less beat them without getting a lot of help through turn...more

We
have that now with the AP and UPI.....They don't vote anymore they just
allow ESPN to tell us who they think is the best team and go with it.

When
it's the Popular Opinion handpick my favorite team poll system then no
one will ever be able to top Alabama as proven with several so called
National Titles when teams whipped Alabama but somehow Alabama got a
split with them even if the other team went Undefeated.
Alabama is all hype as they always have been. Now if you rephrased the Question can any or several teams whip Alabama then the answer would be several.
