Tinker Town: "What we want and what we can have is becoming a greater and greater struggle with what I don't want to except in my daily life. I wanted the very best for my favorite college football team, but must now live with the reality of real life the way it is. Alabama made the plays necessary against the LSU defense to score the winning touchdown in the last minutes of a very hard fought college football game, to pull out the crimson tide victory. That is our LSU fighting tiger football teams reality. Alabama 2012-2013 SCHEDULE 11/3/12 at LSU Baton Rouge,La. W, 21-17.
My advice now to my family and friends is to do the very best with what we have for the rest of the 2012-2013 LSU college football season. After all, we were having a offal lot of fun before the Alabama game, so why give up feeling good again because we lost the rest of the way."

There were also a significant number of college prospects on the Tigers’ side of the field as LSU held a recruiting festival of sorts.
Among the prospects visiting LSU over the weekend and taking in Saturday night’s game on the field was the nation’s No. 1 wide receiver — Ricky Seals-Jones of Sealy High in Sealy, Texas. Seals-Jones (6-foot-5, 230) is strongly considering LSU and Texas A&M after previously decommitting from Texas. Baylor and Oregon are also recruiting.
Also at the game was Greg Gilmore of Southview High in Hope Mills, N.C. Gilmore (6-foot-4, 275) is the No. 11-ranked defensive end in the country by Rivals.com. Florida and Oklahoma are recruiting Gilmore along with LSU. University High's Tim Williams was also in attendance. Williams is being recruited by LSU, Alabama and Miami. Read more...http://www.

Tough Lost To Handle

Like most football coaches, LSU's Les Miles has a 24-hour rule.
A team can celebrate a victory for 24 hours or can think about all the what-ifs in a loss for 24 hours. But, it was apparent that two days after the Tigers had dropped a heartbreaking 21-17 loss to No. 1 Alabama, Miles' thoughts were still on that game.
"I am awfully proud of that team," said Miles, referring to the LSU squad at his weekly media luncheon Monday. "We won every statistical category, but the score. That's unfortunate. I told the team I wish that I would have done a couple of things better. If we play like that in the next game, I'll be happy."
Miles addressed a number of situations which cropped up during the loss against Alabama. The Crimson Tide drove 72 yards in five plays in less than a minute to escape with the victory. AJ McCarron completed three passes to Kevin Norwood before T.J. Yeldon took a screen 28 yards for a touchdown.
"The defense played awfully well against a capable offensive line and quarterback except for two drives," Miles said. "There was the one long drive of about 90 yards and the last drive of the game.
"I watched every play of that last drive and I would not have changed one call. Chief (defensive coordinator John Chavis) would not have changed one call either. On the touchdown play, there was a drop in coverage. A guy was out of position. As a young player, he had one of his better games. Read more...http://lsu.rivals.com/

Bobby Hebert ejected from LSU press box
LSU-Mississippi State game will kick off at 6 p.m. SaturdayLSU spokesman Herb Vincent confirmed Sunday that he and an LSU campus police officer asked Hebert to leave after Hebert failed to heed repeated requests to stop cheering, which is forbidden in the press box. Vincent said Hebert left without incident.
“We got some complaints from some reporters around him that he was cheering in the press box,” Vincent said. “So I asked him to tone it down. I continued to observe him, and I asked him again, and he said he would comply.”
But, Vincent said, Hebert didn’t comply, and a third request was made by the officer. Hebert again said he would comply.
“But on the last LSU touchdown drive (early in the fourth quarter), he continued to display behavior not appropriate in the press box,” Vincent said. “So I asked him to leave, and the officer asked him to leave.
“He had three warnings. At some point, you have to let the people in the press box do their job.”Read more...http://theadvocate.com/
