LSU Leads SEC NFL Combine Invites Past 3 Years

Arellbama seems to know more about LSU strengths and weakness better then some of the LSU football fans. That I am taking this as a very bad omen. I feel like "Elmer Fudd" saying, you despicable rascal rabbit.

Yes, LSU has major talent and has for the past decade but the Pros inviting Jordan Jefferson to the combine was so questionable I lost all faith in the Pro Scouts. And this year, they leave out Michael Williams which is a really good TE at Alabama but last year they invited Jordan Jefferson? Come on. I have no faith in their ability to judge.

I was more amazed the Bucs invited him for a tryout. Nobody's perfect.

Come on guys. He had everything from the neck down.

Not to me. Lee had a better arm than Jefferson did. Jefferson was just a better runner but he was STUPID, IMO. He shouldn't have been allowed to play. Lee should have kept his job.

i may agree with you abriel.. but that was miles' call.. and he took a lot of heat over pulling lee.. but miles wanted the double threat.. and i think he was swayed by lsu's regular season win over bama that year where jefferson came in for lee and did enough to win the game.. just my opinion..

Absolutely true because for last few years. I noticed that the NFL invitees has become more political correct then true to their craft. Just trying to please their good press.
The proof is in the pudding both on the records and within our minds...The NFL has lost their credibility to me too.

Dandy Don's LSU Sports Report

Sunday was a big day in LSU sports as the Tigers added announced a new football commitment, the baseball team rebounded from it's first loss of the season with a big win, and the Lady Tigers basketball team pulled off a huge upset.

As I alluded to in yesterday's morning report, LSU did in fact pick up its fifth football commitment for 2104 in Donnie Alexander of Edna Karr. After visiting LSU's campus with his head coach Saturday and receiving an offer, Alexander returned home, discussed the offer with his mom and then called LSU recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson to give him the good news. Alexander (6'2", 215) played linebacker at Edna Karr but could play linebacker or safety at LSU. There are two other big-time prospects on the State 4-A Champion Edna Karr team – ATH Speedy Noil and DL Gerald Willis – and Alexander will be working on persuading these teammates to join him at LSU.

LSU could pick up another commitment today, as there are rumblings of Edward Paris making an announcement at noon. Paris is a 6'1" 190 defensive back from Arlington, Texas. His three leaders are said to be LSU, Florida and Texas. As soon as any news breaks, I'll send out a tweet to those of you who follow @DandyDonLSU on Twitter. If you don't use Twitter, don't worry - you can see my latest tweets on the left side of this page.

In baseball news, LSU bounced back from Saturday's first loss of the season with a convincing 13-1 win over Southeastern Louisiana. You may recall that yesterday's game was a continuation of Friday's game, which was suspended because of rain and thunder. The game resumed yesterday with Mason Katz at the plate with runners at the corners and two outs in the bottom of the first inning with the score 0-0. Katz wasted no time in getting things going as he sent a three-run homer into the left field seats. LSU extended its first-inning lead with an RBI-single from DH Alex Edward, and added more runs in the second inning with an RBI double from Raph Rhymes, who finished 4-for-5 with five runs batted in. Katz also delivered with an RBI single in the second and then collected his fifth and sixth RBI in the sixth inning with a two-out double, scoring Rhymes and Mark Laird, who scored four runs and finished 3-for-4 on the day. LSU added three insurance runs in the seventh off the bats of reserve infielder Casey Yocom and Rhymes. Ryan Eades (1-0) was credited with the win after pitching six solid innings while allowing only one run and striking out five.

The Tigers (6-1) will travel to my hometown of Lafayette tomorrow for their first road game of the season against a pretty good UL-L Ragin’ Cajuns team (7-1). First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. on LSU Radio Network Affiliates (98.1 FM in the Baton Rouge area). Read more...http://www.dandydon.com/

Ed Paris (DB, 6'1", 190, Arlington) has committed to LSU. Great get for Coach Les Miles and staff! Here's his highlight video. With Paris, LSU now has six commitments for 2014.

Home Sweet Home:
“I’m from New Orleans,” Paris said. “I just feel comfortable at LSU. It’s like even if the coaching staff at LSU wasn’t even there anymore I would still feel comfortable there because it is LSU. It is home. It’s the perfect fit for me.”

Michael ford combine   (Posted on 2/25/13 at 6:49 a.m.)

Ford Pos. rank
40 yard dash 4.50 5th
Bench press 25 T-7th
Vertical jump 38.5 3rd
Broad jump 130.0 1st
3 cone drill 6.87 T-5th
20 yard shuttle 4.25 T-11th
60 yard shuttle. 11.43 4th

That was a very good showing for Ford, and hopefully it will help his draft stock.

And also, how did Ford do the same amount of bench reps as both Faulk and Longeran.
