The LSU coaching staff is stacked for the 2013 college football war;

Tinker:

The truth of the matter is that the LSU fans are still looking for the man:
When head football coach Les Miles added Cam Cameron to the LSU offensive coordinator job the LSU coaching staff has muscled up the LSU coaching football staff ablitys.

We can see the difference in spring practice, The different training station look much different than in the past. Everything is quicker, and sharpen. The bigger players are moving through the spring practice with a NFL look. In fact the entire LSU spring training camp looks like a NFL farm system training NFL football players.

This LSU 2013 football coaching staff is coaching this LSU group nothing like a college football players that I know of. They are simply much bigger, faster, deeper talented group of football players? The New Orleans Saints train at the New Orleans Saints training facility Metairie, Louisiana.

The LSU fighting tigers are training at LSU Baton Rouge, La - visit LSU Football 360° Panoramic Photos for the best view of LSU facilities, just another NFL Pro like football training camp to me.

The man

The question still remains can Zack Meisberger play quarterback better for the LSU 2013 fighting tigers football team.

Last year Zack Meisberger LSU football season was a disappointing first impressions, when Zack Meisberger took the field playing against North Texas State.

He was truly a tall guy who could not run a lick, in fact, he looked like a wet noodle running with the football. Unsteady and slow, ready to fall at the slightest touch.

He was not very impressive as a passer ether, not what the LSU football fans expectations wanted to see, he seemed shy deciding what receiver to throw to. He also held the football to long, just like Jordan Jefferson did, reminding everyone watching about the feeble LSU offense from past disappointing years.

So if Zach Meisberger doesn't come out playing quarterback much better than he did last year. I hope that this LSU coaching staff has a go to B-plan, to play a better brand of offense in 2013.

Because frankly the LSU tiger football fans are very burnt out on watching another floundering around QB pulling the LSU football fans chain. If they are not good enough, change quarterback until the LSU football team get the right man?

LIVE BLOG: National L Club Spring Game

April 20, 2013   -   © 2013 Tiger Rag

1st Quarter: White 3, Purple 0 (7:47)

By CODY WORSHAM
Tiger Rag Editor

Good afternoon, and welcome to a gorgeous Saturday afternoon here at Tiger Stadium.

We’re just minutes away from kicking off the 2013 LSU football season in unofficial fashion, as Purple and White are set to do battle in the National L Club Spring Football Game.

The rosters have been set (CLICK HERE to check those out), and the teams are on the field, warming up and getting ready to showcase their abilities.

Some things to keep an eye on:

  • Newcomers: How will LSU’s eight early enrollees fare in their first Tiger Stadium appearance?
  • Cameron Effect: What will LSU’s offense look like under first year offensive coordinator Cam Cameron?
  • Linebackers: Who will get separation in LSU’s crowded, deep linebacking corps?
  • Special teams: How does LSU replace Drew Alleman in the kicking game and Brad Wing in the punting game? Who emerges in the return game?
  • Wideouts: How have the Tiger receivers — arguably the team’s most inconsistent unit in 2012 — improved in the offseason, with the addition of several key peices in Travin Dural, John Diarse, and Avery Peterson?

There’s much and more to keep an eye out for. We’ll update with Storify at the end of each quarter to get a comprehensive take on how the Tigers look.
Stay tuned.

Dandy Don's LSU Sportws Report
I headed to Baton Rouge yesterday to watch the LSU football team practice for the last time this spring (not counting tomorrow’s Spring Game) and it was great to see a lot of LSU students out there for Student Appreciation Day. To be honest, during the brief 15 or so minutes of practice that we, the media, were allowed to see, the team looked less crisp and a little rougher around the edges than in the previous practices I attended this spring, but I suspect there were several reasons for that. First of all, the team was practicing in shorts and helmets (no pads) and had toned down the intensity to avoid injury prior to the Spring Game, and secondly the wind was really howling making it difficult for everyone in the passing drills. Plus, having a couple hundred students on the sideline kind of made the practice seem a little more casual.

As usual, I spent most of my time there watching through the tiny LCD screen of my video camera, capturing some footage to share with you today. Click here to check out my 8:29 video from the practice. When we were first allowed in, I walked over to wear the receivers were doing some footwork drills, and from there I spent most of my time going back and forth between the offensive line and the quarterbacks. As you'll see in the video, Coach Miles was spending a lot of time with the offensive line, particularly with newcomer Fehoko Fanaika. You'll also notice that Ethan Pocic was back at practice (and in a regular white jersey) after missing practice earlier in the week. In the first passing drill you'll see, Zach Mettenberger and Stephen Rivers were taking turns throwing to the tight ends. All I'll say about that is that it looks to me to like Desean Smith will be a welcome addition if Coach Cameron intends on utilizing the tight ends in the passing game. Of the tight ends currently enrolled, Travis Dickson clearly has the best hands. As for the quarterbacks, Mettenberger and Rivers threw together in all of the drills where two quarterbacks threw at the same time, as did Anthony Jennings and Hayden Rettig. Of the four, Mettenberger was clearly the most consistent and polished. Rivers made a few good throws, but lacked consistency. Jennings continued to impress me, and Rettig showed that he's got a rifle of an arm.

I still feel as though Jennings is likely to overtake Rivers for the No. 2 spot by the time the 2013 season starts, and it appears that he'll have a great opportunity to make his case during tomorrow's Spring Game. I say this because yesterday LSU announced partial rosters for the game and stated that the Purple team will feature Jennings and Rettig at quarterback. Below is the official press release sent out by LSU’s Sports Information Department.
