Why are some of those guys talking like that?

Tinker:

Bad things happen when the grownups are not responsible at the work that they are doing. Like most active people in our society doing what's right means becoming productive, decent, and nice, in how we feel about ourselves and towards others. Simply feeling good about what you do and feel.

If I touch the flame of a hot fire with my finger my skin will burn and that will hurt me with searing pain. Why then am I hearing a lot of ill will talk about race coming from men and women who are talking to each other rudely. Accusing oneanother of crimes that they have never committed yet. Shouting and screaming about fears of the bad behavior that the other people who are not even wanting to do.

For the black men who keep charging subconscious racism is nothing but a mouthful of bull talk, that sounds nothing more then the shrill sound of fear, from the men talking like that. I beginning to think that people who talk about subconscious racism are very insecure themselves, projecting their own personal fears on others.

Something is very wrong with people accusing Innocent people of ill will that they are not feeling. No I am simply beginning to believe that the accusers are charging other people of things that they are guilty of instead. That the accusers of racism, are races themselves.

What goes around comes around in the hearts of the ill will people around us. If you are a person of good will, and health, then your life will be full of the same. And likewise if people let the inner fears of what we worry about to get the best of your reasoning power, chances are your days and nights will be full of terror and out of control anxiety. That will make your life overflowing with issue after issue, wasting what little time that you have to live, and otherwise making better use of.

The true choice within the heart of man is his alone to take, whoever we are. That what I like about prayer.

Knowing my own limitations and realizing that in reality that I am not a perfect person, buy just another flesh and blood man, like everyone else. My spirit becomes strengthened when I seek and ask through prayer for more health and wisdom, So I can really give the life that I live my very best shot.

Then I can relax into who I really am just another person who kinder enjoys everyone else, like I like myself. Who would truly like to help wash away the sins of this world, but I know that I can't. So I just become more of myself trying to help when I can, and willing to apologize for the mistakes that I also make.

Hoping to always get better learning from my mistakes, enjoying the knowledge of others, trying if I can to also help others who are not so lucky.

I would normally like to be friends with strangers but that Joe skunk seems to always come along, stinking up the place, making everyone run for higher ground.
By the way Joe skunk is black with a white stripe running from his head to the tip of his tail.

NAACP Rejects Black Conservatives From National Conference

Katie Pavlich | Jul 17, 2013
Katie Pavlich

According to author and Fox News contributor Deneen Borelli and her husband, Tom Borelli, black conservatives have been blacklisted from the NAACP's national conferences for years. When the Borellis, who are employees of the conservative group FreedomWorks, attempted to pay for booth space at this year's 104th National NAACP conference in Florida, they were told there was no room for them despite plenty of exhibit space remaining open.

The NAACP website states that the mission of the organization is to, "ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination." The objectives of the NAACP include ensuring "the political, educational, social, and economic equality of all citizens," and removing "all barriers of racial discrimination through democratic processes."

Mrs. Borelli has been an outspoken critic of the Obama administration and the Democratic Party. In March her book, Blacklash: How Obama and the Left Are Driving Americans to the Government Plantation, came out in paperback.

At least 20 kids die after eating free school lunch in India

AP
Children receive treatment at a hospital after eating a free meal at a primary school in Chhapra district in India's Bihar state.
By Annie Banerji, Reuters
PATNA, India - At least 20 children died and dozens were taken to hospital with apparent food poisoning after eating a meal provided for free at their school in the Indian state of Bihar.
Police said the children, aged eight to 11, fell ill after consuming a lunch of rice, soybean and legumes on Tuesday. The school provided free meals under the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, which involves 120 million children.
"As soon as my boy returned from school, we rushed to the hospital with him. He was vomiting and he said his stomach was aching," said Raja Yadav, the father of one victim.
Education minister M.M. Pallam Raju said a school cook had also died. The initial death toll of eight shot up to 20 on Wednesday.
The exact cause of the deaths will be known only after the post-mortem examinations and food sample tests, doctors and state officials said.
Dozens of residents took to the streets in Chapra, pelting a police station with stones and setting ablaze buses and other vehicles, television channels showed.
"We are currently treating 27 children here," said R.K. Singh, medical superintendent at the children's hospital in the state capital, Patna. "Of them nine are in serious condition, 18 are stable."
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered an inquiry into the incident and has offered 200,000 rupees ($3,400) to the families of those who have died, the state's food minister said.
Bihar is one of the most impoverished states in India, according to government data.

Dandy Don's LSU Sports Report

Late-Breaking News 2:00 pm CT

Running back Sione Palelei (5'10", 190) of East Ascension impressed enough today to earn an LSU offer and jumped on it. With his verbal, LSU now has 13 commitments. Check out Palelei’s highlight video in our Media Gallery.

7/17/13 6:20 am CT

Good morning, Tiger Fans,

With LSU's big football camp continuing through today, recruiting remains the hot topic of discussion in most of the emails I've received lately. Day 3 of the camp concluded yesterday without anyone committing to LSU, and that has some folks worried. I’m not worried yet as I truly believe things will pick up soon. Sometimes the benefits of a camp of this magnitude are not immediately seen, at least not from the outside, but if you were to attend the camp and see the level and amount of talent in attendance, for this year’s class and for well beyond, there’s no way you would leave without feeling good about the future of LSU football.

Here are a few more tid-bits on the recruiting front:

• Chances are good that Brandon Harris could get the ball rolling for LSU when he makes his announcement tomorrow. I wouldn’t call Harris a lock to LSU, but things appear to be going in LSU’s favor. It’s no secret that the athletic, strong-armed quarterback’s two favorites are LSU and Auburn, and yesterday Auburn took a commitment from quarterback Sean White which can only help LSU’s chances. An interesting note about Harris: He recently changed his Twitter avatar to a photo of himself and Trey Quinn. The two seem to have strengthened their friendship at the camp and I know Harris would love to have a target like Quinn to throw to at the next level.

• Another player I was watching closely and hoping would leave as an LSU commit was running back Darrel Williams of John Ehret. I was told he left LSU’s camp Monday evening without an offer, and without having a sit-down discussion with the staff. From there he went straight to Alabama's camp where I heard he had a good showing yesterday. LSU wants two running backs in this class (we all know who the top priority is), and I wouldn’t count Williams out as a possible take.

• It looks like another 2014 running back prospect will get a chance to make his case for an offer in front of the LSU staff today as Sione Palelei (5'8", 185, East Ascension) will reportedly be working out.

• While the competition level wasn’t as high yesterday as it was on Monday, one under-the-radar 2014 prospect that I heard really turned heads is defensive lineman Freddie Booth-Lloyd (6'2", 308, Cocoa, FL).

In other football news, LSU announced yesterday that its home-opener against UAB on September 7 will kickoff at 6 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPNU. LSU’s game against Kent State on September 14 will kickoff at 6 p.m. CT as well, and will be carried either by ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU. As you know, it was announced a while back that LSU’s season-opener against TCU in the Cowboys Classic in Arlington, Texas on August 31 will start at 8 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN. The only other game on the LSU schedule whose kickoff time has been determined is the Arkansas contest on Friday, November 29 in Tiger Stadium. That game will start at 1:30 p.m. and will be televised on CBS.

With the LSU football season opener just 45 days away, let’s continue our jersey countdown by taking a look at Alvin Dark, one of the greatest athletes to ever grace the campus of Louisiana State University. I’ve got to admit that I didn’t know a lot about Mr. Dark before I began researching him for this countdown, but what I found was simply amazing, and I’m sure a lot of you old-timers out there will remember him and his legacy of greatness. Dark was a three-sport superstar at LSU in the early 40s who received a scholarship to play basketball and baseball and then ended up trying out and making the football team too. He lettered in all three sports, and on the football field he led the 1942 team in both rushing and passing yards and was one heck of a punter. In the Tigers’ 21-7 homecoming victory over Ole Miss in 1942, Dark ran for touchdowns of 70 and 46 yards. However, according to his Louisiana Hall of Fame bio, his most vivid memories of that game were his four punts – a 75-yarder and three “coffin corner kicks” that pinned the Rebels inside their two-yard line. Before one punt, Dark asked the referee where the ball would be placed if he hit the flag, and the official replied, “Right on the one-foot line.” Dark proceeded to hit the flag and later recounted that it was one of those things that couldn’t be repeated in two lifetimes of punting. In 1943, Dark helped lead the LSU baseball team to an SEC title, but then, because of World War II, joined the Marine Corps’ V-12 program and was assigned to a unit at the Southwestern Louisiana institute in Lafayette where he continued to excel in baseball and also quarterbacked the football team to an undefeated season and a New Year’s Day Oil Bowl victory. After serving in Asia during the war, he returned home and chose to pursue what turned out to be a long and successful professional career in baseball, as a player and as a manager. For those of you interested, more info on this incredible Tiger can be found on his Wikipedia page and at the LA Hall of Fame Sports website.

Now turning to modern day baseball news, congratulations are in order for former Tiger closer Chris Cotton who is off to a great start in his professional career. Pitching for Tri-City, the Astros farm team, Cotton started (that's right, started) and pitched five strong innings without allowing a hit or a walk and struck out five. The five innings were two more than he threw in any game at LSU.

In closing, I want to point out that LSU had 26 of its student-athletes become 2013 SEC First-Year Honor Roll recipients. The swimming and diving program highlighted the list with six representatives, track and field had five, gymnastics had three, and soccer, volleyball and women's golf each had a pair. The men's gold team had one recipient, as did the softball team. Mark Laird was the sole recipient on the baseball team and Aussi punter Jamie Keehn was the lone recipient on the football team.

Oh, one more thing: I've updated our ticket exchange page and a few new football ticket listings were added.

Reader comments: Scott, please let Tiger Fans know about our “Tiger Fan Jam” being held Friday, August 30th at the South Side Ballroom in Dallas to celebrate the start of football season. It's an “all-age" party that will feature The Molly Ringwalds and Geaux DJ. Tickets are available here at TicketMaster.com. Some athletes like Johnny football seem to get a false sense of security because of the football bouncing the right way for the player after winning a championship of football game. Beware then when the football bounces the wrong way. Because acting like a ingrate after you are winner can only change into a deep dark pit of despair after the winner start losing. Ingrates become very ugly to look at then.
