My sister has more substance in her little toe than Obama has in his whole body

Tinker:

Barack Obama is turning out to be not worthy of his own skin color, much less everyone else race, because he is turning out to be just another louse, cheating on his friends and only worrying about how he is feeling and not anyone else.

Barack Obama is simply not acting responsible for the country's citizens who elected him. He is failing as a president and man, failing everyone who was supporting him. Lying is not going to coverup the criminal crime of not upholding the laws of the United States of America. Barack Obama has proven over and over again to be unworthy of the American people trust.

He looks more like a puppet on a string to me controlled by the ivy league in crowd, moving and acting from the strings attached to his arms, legs, and mouth.

Barack Obama has no individual substance at all as far as I can tell.

My sister has more substance in her little toe than Obama has in his whole body.

BCS: Alabama carries SEC's hopes

October, 27, 2013
By Edward Aschoff | ESPN.com
A week ago, the SEC's BCS hopes rode on the backs of Alabama and Missouri. Seven days later, the SEC is all about the crimson and white.

After falling 27-24 in overtime to South Carolina on Saturday, the Tigers dropped from the ranks of the unbeatens and slid from No. 5 in the BCS standings to No. 9. Alabama's dominating 45-10 win over Tennessee kept the Crimson Tide No. 1 in the standings, and it's clear that Alabama holds the league's best chance of making it to the SEC's eighth straight BCS title game.

SportsNationOregon jumped over FSU and into No. 2 in the latest BCS standings. What does your Top 25 look like? Rank 'Em! »
It only makes sense, considering Alabama is looking for its third straight national championship. With the schedule Alabama has, you have to figure the Tide will be favored from here on out, but the road has some bumps in it. In two weeks, Alabama will host LSU, which stayed at No. 13 in the standings, and travels to the Plains on Nov. 30 to face No. 11 Auburn. If the Tide win out, they will be headed to Pasadena, Calif., for the VIZIO BCS National Championship.

Speaking of Auburn, those Tigers have an outside chance at reaching the BCS title game. Obviously with one loss already on their résumé, the Tigers would need to win out, take home the SEC title and hope a few of the five unbeaten teams -- Florida State, Oregon, Ohio State, Baylor and Miami -- lose before the season ends. The Tigers would probably like No. 8 Clemson and No. 10 Oklahoma to stumble as well. It certainly isn't impossible for Auburn to make like 2010 and play for a national championship, but a lot has to happen.

The same can still be said about Missouri, which also will need to win out, take the SEC and pray for some help in the loss column from the teams ahead of it.

South Carolina and Texas A&M round out the remaining SEC teams in the BCS standings. The Aggies rose from No. 16 to No. 12, while South Carolina jumped from No. 21 to No. 14.

Look! Go on and hand the third BCS trophy to Alabama already, because they are indeed the most obvious better coached college football team in America. The Bama players fear Nick Saban more than the referees, so that kind of discipline keep every player playing the Bama football game as a team.
Making Alabama a better football team each and ever college football game, and Nick Saban also has the recruiting ability to sign all the best football players.

What more do you want to know. Go to Vegas and place your bet. The Crimson tide will win the third BCS crystal football.

    "Have to figure"?

Alabama hasn't been underdogs since the 2009 SEC Championship game.

Beating Alabama and winning the SEC champion means more than the National Title. Though that would be nice too. War Eagle!

ENGSTER: Statistically Speaking - Beer and better foes cure for LSU ticket woes

LSU irritated its fanatically loyal fan base with last week’s debacle against Furman on Homecoming night. The Paladins are a 1AA outfit with a losing record and followed previous LSU home dates with UAB and Kent State. Next year, LSU faces Sam Houston State, New Mexico State and UL-Monroe at Tiger Stadium. No wonder there are typically at least 15,000 empty seats at the kickoff and 50,000 no shows in the fourth quarter when LSU tees it up against overmatched visitors.
On the eve of the Furman fiasco, athletic director Joe Alleva requested the LSU Board to allow him and future ADs to increase ticket prices without approval from the Board of Supervisors. There was a mild response from the politically connected leaders of the state’s flagship university as Alleva termed their oversight "burdensome.”

In Saturday’s edition of The Advocate, fans were informed on game day by one LSU supervisor that they are getting their money’s worth with a putrid line-up of opponents. Koran Addo quoted board member Rolfe McCollister, who previously served LSU as a supervisor during the Curley Hallman regime.

"Nobody has to buy tickets, McCollister said. "We have a great product, and in free enterprise in America, when you’ve got a great product, you’re rewarded and people buy your product.”

LSU has presented a spectacularly talented team for more than a decade, but there are two squads on the field, and fans deserve a competitive contest if they are investing top dollar to attend the event. Scheduling Sam Houston State, New Mexico State and ULM is akin to music aficionados buying a ticket to a concert performance with a popular artist, who chooses not to sing any familiar hits, opting to go through the motions with material nobody has heard.

As the arena has expanded making tickets more plentiful and every game is televised, seeing the action in Tiger Stadium is not as difficult as it was in the Charlie McClendon Era. In those days, LSU was treated to an array of top quality non-conference foes at home.

Here are the non-SEC opponents who appeared in Tiger Stadium in the 70’s and 80’s.

1970: Texas A&M, Rice, Baylor, Pacific
1971: Notre Dame, Colorado, Texas A&M, Rice, Tulane
1972: Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Pacific
1973: Colorado, Texas A&M, Rice
1974: Colorado, Texas A&M, Tulane, Utah
1975: Texas A&M, South Carolina
1976: Nebraska, Oregon State, Rice Tulane, Utah
1977: Oregon, Rice, Wyoming
1978: Wake Forest, Tulane, Wyoming
1979: USC, Florida State, Rice
1980: Florida State, Kansas State, Colorado, Tulane
1981: Florida State, Oregon State, Rice
1982: Florida State, Oregon State, Rice, Tulane
1983: Florida State, Washington, South Carolina
1984: Notre Dame, Arizona, Tulane, Wichita State
1985: East Carolina, Colorado State
1986: Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Tulane, Miami of Ohio, North Carolina
1987: Ohio State, Rice, Fullerton State
1988: Miami of Florida, Texas A&M, Tulane
1989: Florida State, Ohio U.

With the exception of 1985, there was an opponent from a major conference facing LSU every year in Tiger Stadium during the 70s and 80s. Despite often challenging opposition, LSU posted a record against non-conference foes at home from 1970-89 of 52-14-2 (78.8 percent).

Along the way, LSU officials determined that winning four of every five games was not sufficient and started padding its schedule in an effort to enhance ratings and records. A trail of outclassed opponents started a continuous procession of sacrificial lambs invading Death Valley.

Since LSU lost to UAB 13-10 in Nick Saban’s inaugural season with the Tigers in 2000, LSU is unbeaten against 40 non-conference opponents at home, but the record is tainted by the strength of schedule.

Here is the Who’s Who to face LSU at home for the past 13 years.
2001: Tulane, Utah State, Middle Tennessee
2002: Citadel, Miami of Ohio, UL-Lafayette
2003: UL-Monroe, Western Illinois, Louisiana Tech
2004: Oregon State, Arkansas State, Troy State
2005: North Texas, Appalachian State
2006: UL-Lafayette, Arizona, Tulane, Fresno State
2007: Virginia Tech, Middle Tennessee, Louisiana Tech
2008: Appalachian State, North Texas, Tulane, Troy
2009: UL-Lafayette, Tulane, Louisiana Tech
2010: West Virginia, McNeese, UL-Monroe
2011: Northwestern State, Western Kentucky
2012: North Texas, Idaho, Washington, Towson
2013: UAB, Kent State, Furman

Of the 40 non-league foes to play LSU at home since 2000, only Virginia Tech in 2007 (No. 9) and West Virginia in 2010 (No. 22) were ranked opponents. The non-SEC schedule has been intentionally weak for years, and fans are demanding better by vacating their seats for the glorified scrimmages.

When the LSU board reconvenes in December, it should assert its authority over the athletic department. No athletic director is bigger than the university or the student body, and it is appropriate to receive consent on ticket hikes from board members who are assigned to oversee operations of the Ole War Skule.

LSU is destined to receive an additional $14 million next year as part of the new SEC Network. Board member Steve Perry rightly questioned Alleva about the necessity for a ticket adjustment in light of this new funding source.

Fans are paying more for less entertainment value than they did in decades past. It is doubtful that Notre Dame, USC, Ohio State, Florida State, Miami of Florida or Nebraska will ever visit Tiger Stadium again.

Rather than force a ticket increase down the throats of the greatest fans in college athletics, it is time for LSU to tap a revenue source by lubricating the throats of its supporters.

It would be refreshing for Alleva to promote beer sales in Tiger Stadium. The revenue steam would be enormous and purchases would be optional for fans.

It is blatantly unfair for patrons in luxury suites to enjoy beer and liquor while the common folk in the stadium are deprived of the same opportunity to celebrate victory or drown defeat. Let the beer flow and the cash will come, and almost everybody will be happy at Tiger Stadium.

I don't drink beer but I think that beer and wine sales would generate additional income.

Since we have the SEC championship and BCS to play for, it is smart to schedule "cupcakes" to balance the tough schedule of the SEC!

No beer or liquor, please. While I understand the sentiment, that is not the solution. The media already overplays the involvement of booze with LSU football with annual comments about fans supposedly preferring night games because it gives us more time to get "liquored up." The truth is, having attended games in Tiger Stadium since 1969, it looks to me like the heaviest drinking fans don't make it inside the stadium. I think that works well. There are other ways to raise money.

That said, I'm with you on scheduling better opponents.

Problem #2 - Empty stadium for TV. Ticket prices and the fees required to even move up a waiting list have already put the joy of attending games out-of-reach for many die-hard fans. As a result, businesses and business people gobble up tickets then pass them out to clients, friends and relatives. I have to wonder how many of those people treat going to a game like going to he movies. Then, couple that to problems with parking and traffic flow and it's no wonder the stadium empties during the third quarter (lost concession sales). So, the athletic department has it's revenue from ticket sales (even if prices are raised), but the stadium looks empty - a fact not lost on the TV cameras and announcers.

It's time for the university to decide - is it free market and the highest bidder, or fans who stay and cheer until the team leaves the field? Maybe there can be some sort of balance, but whatever happens, those in charge need to THINK about whether their cause will really have the desired effect.

Chief Peace Pipe Picklehead:
10/28/2013 12:17 PMIt was fun while it lasted:

You don't need to worry about LSU football program making more money. Because LSU is on the decline slipping into many years before the LSU football program becomes the big show piece in Baton Rouge, La again. The spirit of the fighting tigers football show has been damaged by the vulgar student body, bad coaching, and the new out of touch AD.

So don't bother yourselves further the signs are clear, fewer and fewer paying customers is now going to be the new normal.
