See ya and i wouldn't wanna be ya.

Once upon a time in America

Tinker:

The American people who live in the other part of the countryside outside of the New England states are getting fed up big time with what has happened to their federal government because of the Boston/New York political puppet masters.

Apparently the power politic of the New England states
ivy league is becoming so frightened of the rest of the American people over their ivy league positions in their social statistics that they have begun trying to make the American people serve them against the American people will.

The liberal dream of the Obama care is reflecting everything that the America people don't want.

I think that the strain of the American people finding out about how their governments system was fixed by Tweedledee/Tweedledum meaning the Republican/Democratic party in Washington DC government political establishment. Exposing the sleazy political power scheme that was taking advantage of the American people, the weight of it is slipping out of their very corrupted hands lately and is causing the guilty power elite DC establishment some very real fear.

I think that the greater part of the America people outside of the Washington DC beltway will finally start pushing eastward because of the corruption out of Washington DC. And that the guilty better catch a boat or plane ride out of there, with only the Ocean behind the New England states.  Good luck ivy league political running dogs - See ya and I would't wanna be ya.

Is everyone in Washington DC on the take stealing the American people money with both hands?

"Off the Record, 10/30/2013: Why would the Obama administration hand more than a billion dollars to a company under investigation in Britain for swindling taxpayers?"

The American News media must also be taking a side deals payoff - otherwise this flagrant political plunder of the American people treasury could not be done.

The political corruption is so out into the open now that I wonder why don't the American people stop looking at TV and go march on Washington. What is wrong with the America people that they don't fight for their honor and hard earned fortune anymore?

The everyday Washington DC TV show is getting very disgusting.

Tigers enjoying rest of bye week, but peeking ahead to Alabama
10/30/2013 10:40:12 AM

By CODY WORSHAM
Tiger Rag Editor

The last FBS team in college football to take a bye is making the most of it.
Les Miles jumped on the SEC teleconference this morning, saying his team isn’t getting too ahead of itself during the bye week that precedes a Nov. 9 matchup with Alabama.

The Tigers are looking ahead, said Miles, but not too far ahead.

"We’re a team that’s come off a good lengthy stretch,” he said. "There’s a need to have some rest. There’s not any team that will get ready too early for a game of the magnitude. They’ll understand the timeframe.”

This marks the fourth year in a row LSU has had a bye ahead of the clash with Alabama, and the Tigers stand 2-1 in such games. Miles said his program will draw from those prior byes for preparation schedules.

"I’ve not seen them in any other times we’ve prepared for this team with an open week to have the likelihood to prepare too early,” he said.

That said, the Tigers are already looking at what it will take to beat the Tide, who stand No. 1 in the country and need only a few more victories for a fourth title in five seasons. Alabama again boasts one of the nation’s top defenses, ranking first nationally in scoring defense with just 9.8 points per game allowed.

Unlike years past, however, LSU has a proven passing attack under new coordinator Cam Cameron, and Miles hinted that the aerial route will often be the path of choice for the Tigers against the Tide, who rank eighth in the country in passing defense despite giving up 465 yards and 5 TDs to Johnny Manziel earlier this season in a 49-42 win over Texas A&M.

"I think what you’ll see is a very competitive run and pass and the mix of run and pass and every down and distance,” Miles said. "The ability to throw it deep, short, run the football. That’s the best way to work against a quality defense. You have to make them defend the pass in every down and distance.”

One player who will try to defend the LSU pass is reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Week Landon Collins, who forced a fumble and returned an interception 89 yards for a score Saturday against Tennessee. Collins is a Baton Rouge native who picked the Tide over the Tigers on national television in 2012, when he was the nation’s top ranked safety.

"We recognize ol’ Landon,” Miles said. "I remember his announcement, but I don’t know that I remember much after that.”

The Collins storyline is one of many heading into Nov. 9’s matchup, but from a bigger perspective, Miles knows the next four weeks will be critical to this team’s ultimate outcome. An SEC West title is still mathematically possible, though LSU would need to win out and get help, probably from Auburn (by beating Alabama) and Georgia (by beating Auburn).

"Those are the things that make November best,” said Miles. "Late in the season, the schedule that’s been here for the last nine years, you play the best teams on the back end. It’s an exciting piece of time because it puts you where you’re going to finish. If you run the table, you have a chance to be in the championship game. If you falter, it still affords you an opportunity in the next game. It’s always difficult in the conference, but it’s the month champions are decided.”

Looking forward to a really BIG game at Alabama. For the fans, it just can't get here soon enough. The Tigers air attack is the most thrilling thing that has come along in years. We fans drop the ole jaws when we see some of the amasing catches by O Jr, and Landry.

My concern is why the coaching staff has chosen to not allow our future QB, whoever that might be, in the games thus far. It was completley mind boggling for me that Jennings did not play the entire fourth quarter at the Homecoming Game. We are at that point in the season when we control our own destiny.

God forbid it happening, but what happens in the games we have left if we have to play these final three powerhouses with a "green" quarterback? What happens to our beloved Tigers when the Mett graduates and we start the 2014 season with a Quarterback whose experience in the SEC has been his Spring and
Fall training? Les, Cam, come on man! What were you thinking?

Because Les Miles can't coach that is why he will not bring along the QB experience in Jennings the right way.

Because he did the same thing with Jordan Jefferson, remember leaving Zack cooling his heels when we needed a QB change in the most important BCS championship game in LSU history. - Les Miles don't know the LSU QB from a hole in the grown.

The people running LSU are chumps, paying the con artist over $4 million dollars a year.

I kept hearing about the dark days before Nick Saban. I don't really think that this LSU defense is going to chase any ghost away any times soon, do you?

Alabama is going to embarrass the LSU tiger football faithful because Les Miles is a problem for the LSU football program, that the people running LSU will not change.

Until they chang the LSU Head Football Coach, don't be surprised if the LSU football program starts living in the dark day again. If it get much darker in this college football season then just what kind of darker darkness are they talking about before LSU changes the head coach?

WORSHAM: Alleva's right, ticket prices must go up.
10/30/2013 8:16:46 AM

By CODY WORSHAMTiger Rag Editor

Things got awkward at Friday’s Board of Supervisors meeting.

Often a dull affair, board member Rolfe McCollister, in his driest tone, injected some life into the gathering with a blunt monologue directed at LSU athletic director Joe Alleva, who had just finished arguing for increases to football ticket prices and the Tradition Fund.

"We’ve spent too much time today on ticket prices,” McCollister started. "I believe everybody on the board is for free enterprise and free markets. Fans have a choice. If you lose, Joe, they have a right not to buy tickets.

"In the Curley Hallman days, we lost half our season tickets. Nobody had a mandate to buy those tickets. They dropped them on us and said, ‘Good luck LSU.’
"The demand is there. This is free enterprise in America. You’ve got a great product. People are buying the product.

"You have no state funds. You are on your own. You’ve done well with it. You’ve done well for the University and shared [profits]. I particularly want to stay out of your business as long as you keep producing the product.

"If not, we can get in your business, and we can fire you. That’s the way it works for you, the president, and everybody else. So good luck.”

McCollister’s reminder of Alleva’s mortality drew some awkward chuckles from those present, including Alleva.

"I knew that!” he responded, to more awkward laughter.

Adding to the room’s palpable discomfort was the fact that it wasn’t the first time firing Alleva was brought up in the meeting. Earlier, Alleva himself brought the matter up, when comparing his desire to raise ticket prices by a mere six percent one time to the board’s ability to raise university tuition annually by 10 percent.

"I can’t raise ticket prices 10 percent every year,” he said. "I’d be out of business. Nobody would come. Or if I did, you’d fire me. That’s fine. I’m not going to do that.”

Let’s be clear. The board will not fire Alleva anytime soon. His proposal to raise ticket prices for football was met with almost unanimous enthusiasm, and will be met with unanimous support when the board votes on it in December.

"The future looks bright,” said board member J. Stephen Perry. "There’s no question in my mind ticket prices have to go up and tradition fund increases have to go up.”

Such support is nothing new for Alleva. In his five years on the job, he has yet to have a proposal before the board that did not receive approval, none more warmly met than a 2012 profit-sharing agreement between the university and the athletic department that will send a minimum of $36 million from the latter to the former over five years.

As long as Alleva continues to produce profits without relying on state funds – and, more importantly, sharing those profits with the university – he’ll get little resistance from a cash-strapped board.

But if and when that stops, Alleva knows, as he pointed out to McCollister, that the board can turn on him at any moment.

That’s why he wants to make increases to ticket prices and the Tradition Fund. If he doesn’t, the athletic department stands to lose $2 million next year. He’s got bills to pay, and with costs rising $3 million annually, that can only happen if revenues go up, or costs go down.
And costs aren’t going down any time soon.

So revenues must go up, and the quickest injection of funds can come from football tickets, which provide more than half ($59 million of $101.5 million, according to Alleva) of the department’s revenues.

"Football is what carries the day,” he said.

It’s not popular, but Alleva must raise ticket prices. Title IX prevents him from cutting money-losing programs, and any coach whose salary he slashes will pack and leave for more lucrative lands.

But’s Alleva’s job isn’t to be popular – which is good, because if it were, he’d be out of work pretty quickly. A sampling of my Twitter mentions creates the impression that Alleva’s popularity doesn’t extend far beyond the walls of the LSU System offices, especially since the announcement of the cost-increase proposal.

His job is to be successful, on the field and on the books. Whether fans like it or not, those two areas are entirely co-dependent on each other. Without enough success, the programs won’t make money; without enough money, the programs won’t have success.

"We’re a business,” he said. "That’s what we are.”

And businesses reserve the right to make business decisions, which includes raising prices. LSU’s fans don’t have to like it. But the best way to voice that displeasure isn’t by running to the Internet to call for Alleva’s head.

The best way to show displeasure is to stop buying tickets. If you don’t like the price, don’t make the payment. If the product isn’t worth it, don’t make the purchase.

The reality is that those who won’t purchase will simply be replaced by those who will. If 92,000 will buy tickets for Florida and Furman – and choose not to even show up – there’s obviously room for upward movement along the supply-demand curve.

It’s not greed. It’s just math: LSU can’t afford to keep ticket prices deflated.

That’s the price of playing big boy football. You can have your cake, or you can eat it. You can have cheap tickets, or you can have a good football team.

You can’t have both.

Off today's subject but 2 - 3 yrs ago wasn't Alleva planning to leave us?

Money talks and bull talk walks, right? LSU AD Alleva is so out of touch with the Louisiana college football fans that when he start seeing empty expensive football seats in tiger stadium going empty, he will act surprised. Fools like that are a dime a dozen these days, because they are living in a unreal sound bite TV world, that they think the big TV show is the big thing in modern entertainment.
Keep losing more football game and your TV friends will be very hard to find wiseguy. And gouging the Louisiana LSU football fans for more money won't save you.

If LSU raises the football game ticket prices one thin dime more, people will stop buying. So go ahead raise the LSU football ticket prices one more time - Mr LSU AD. Maybe you can go get a job in television somewhere, after LSU lets you go because of empty LSU tiger stadium seats, you know what I mean - not enough money because they can't help themselves.
