Ways and Means Committee Chair Dave Camp fired off a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder on Wednesday, providing further evidence that former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner had a demonstrated bias towards the conservative organizations she is alleged to have targeted.
Ways and Means Committee Chair Dave Camp fired off a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder on Wednesday, providing further evidence that former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner had a demonstrated bias towards the conservative organizations she is alleged to have targeted.
In the newly uncovered emails, Lerner refers to
conservatives as “as*holes” and “terRorists(sic).”
The exchange takes place while Lerner is discussing a
conversation she overheard while vacationing abroad about what Europeans think
of Americans, Lerner blames conservatives for the poor perception of
Americans abroad.
“So we don’t need to worry about alien teRrorists (sic). It’s
our own crazies that will take us down,” Lerner writes.
In his letter to Attorney General Holder, Rep. Camp
explicitly states that these emails prove Lerner had a bias against
Republicans.
“While the Committee has not seen any evidence of a serious
investigation by your Department, it is my sincere hope that in light of
this new, strong evidence that you immediately begin aggressively investigating
this matter or appoint a special counsel,” Camp writes.
