Winning and differences power Miles & Saban
November, 7, 2014By Edward Aschoff | ESPN.com
Their footsteps shake the southern ground and their wins stack as tall as Atlanta's Bank of America Plaza.
Saturday, the two will meet for the ninth time at their current jobs, with Saban holding a 5-3 lead in this wildly exciting series. Two coaches who thrive on winning and captivated the SEC after stints and upbringings well outside the confines of the country's most polarizing conference.
Miles went from being a Michigan Man to a Cowboy before settling in Cajun country. Saban went from a Michigan State man to Cajun to Dolphin then T-Town. Cross-country journeys brought these two to the Deep South and winning binds these iconic coaches.
Think Hayes-Schembechler with a little more southern hospitality.

Martin Johnson · The University of AlabamaWhile I like Saban as a coach, he did not turn alabama into a powerhouse. Alabama has always been a powerhouse.not sure Saban could have done what he did at any other schoolReply · ·----------
Jeff Rose · Top Commenter · Springfield, IllinoisActually, Alabama was not very good before Saban arrived. They have a great tradition but they were not a good football team at the time. It was the same way at LSU. They were not very good before Saban arrived. So Saban can obviously do it at a school other than Alabama.Reply ·- ------------
Nick Kling · Top Commenter · William Henry Harrison High School (Ohio)Alabama was in its dark ages before Saban got here. They always had a storied tradition and they certainly didn't fall as far as, say, Texas. But they were pretty average from late 90s to mid 2000s.Reply ·- -----------

Day 8 of thanks ... I'm thankful for LSU, my years there, my degree, but mostly for my family of friends that have woven a tapestry of memories and relationships that sustain me. I'm thankful for the boys in purple and gold that make us proud, ... that fight for our state and the Old War Skule! Re-beat Bama!

Thomas Williams: Yes! I am also curious and in appreciation to see if our LSU football team has the push in the center of our line of scrimmage that will keep moving in our favor inside LSU Tiger Stadium. If so we will all light up again into the competitive College spirits of our forefathers, and us.
Because then we will all know right away if our LSU football team have a good chance to win this very important college football game against Alabama.
With the presents of our family, and friends, the LSU football players, coaching staff, you and I. LSU will once again prevail winning a great football game inside a special place, LSU Tiger Stadium. If they have the push that is worthy of our Old War Skule fighting Tiger spirit. LSU will win.
So in just a little while longer we will all know, because losing is not an option against Alabama.

Kathryn Layman · Bethel KSCollege football dynasties have always been due to great coaching staffs. And these coaching staffs always eventually get fired by athletic departments or move onto more money.
And then the football dynasty will be no more.Reply · · 13 hours ago- ------------
