James Madison:
Madison's speech proposed two separate phrases about the freedom of
speech to be added to the Constitution. The first part said, "The
people shall not be deprived or abridged of their right to speak, to
write, or to publish their sentiments; and the freedom of the press, one
of the great bulwarks of liberty, shall be inviolable." The second phrase said this, "No state shall violate the equal rights of conscience, or of the press."

Tinker
Gee! I wonder how the people telling jokes, and writing in Newspapers, or Magazine in the Western hemisphere thought that “blaspheme” of another person’s God would not get them a punch in the nose, or worse?

Seriously
would you start deliberate insult the person you are talking to impolitely and
go further my calling them vulgar ugly names? And if you did would you be
surprised if that person simply took exception to how you are treating them
badly, and in turn start fighting back.
Wow!
The lack of civility and common politeness in a public forum has broken down so
badly in the West that the people with deep religious faith are very fed up
with people treating them and their God in public without respect. Integration
of different people is not a license to be ugly to other people.
Who
would have believed that this lack of discretion in the Western hemisphere
would lead to assassination? Who would believe that treating other people
religion impolitely would be harmful? Because comedians in the West think that
they are protected by the freedom to be mean to people with religious believes
because what they are saying is only a joke. And they are protected by the
Western hemisphere Laws. Can anyone believe the people living in the West don’t
know better than not to be mean to other people in the Newspaper, Theater, Television? I know that comedians in the West or East do realize that there is
no justification to be impolite to other people in a mean way and that they would have
social consequences. How can they not know that?
Tell
me are Western comedians really that surprised that a vulgar Paris Magazine was
finally attacked by religious people who were simply fed up.
The pen is only mightier than the Sword if the writer has
something good or entertainingly funny to say. And that the Paris Magazine published
a cartoon that Allah came from anal sex was really not funny at all, and only infuriated
the people who love Allah even more.
Hunt for 2 in French
shooting that killed 12; 1 surrenders
By ELAINE GANLEY and
LORI HINNANT
PARIS
(AP) — One man sought in the deadly shooting at a French satirical paper has
turned himself in, and police hunted Thursday for two heavily armed men with
possible links to al-Qaida in the military-style, methodical killing of 12
people at the office of a satirical newspaper that caricatured the Prophet
Muhammad.
President
Francois Hollande, visiting the scene of France's deadliest such attack in more
than half a century, called the assault on the weekly newspaper Charlie Hebdo
"an act of exceptional barbarism."
