Penn State defensive coordinator Bob Shoop is no longer a candidate for the same job at LSU after tweeting his intentions late Wednesday night.
Shoop, who just finished his first season as the Nittany Lions defensive coordinator, became LSU coach Les Miles' primary target and interviewed with Miles on Wednesday. But later that night he tweeted "#WEARE..So excited 2 b part of the Penn State Family. Lots of work 2 b done. Committed 2 building a Big 10 n National Championship Program!"
The post was retweeted by Shoop's boss, head coach James Franklin, who also posted his own tweet earlier in the day referencing the move.

Some
people on this board seem to think that their opinions are made valid
by insulting the opinions of others. Kinda pathetic, really! Wait for
it...

Well I thought that Les Miles was doing a good job replacing John Chavis
with the x USC Trojans defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast and that
was a very good defensive coordinator move for the LSU tiger 2015
football team.
Because not only would LSU be getting a good defensive coach but they could also simply restart recruiting like nothing much has changed, and maybe even better. Now after watching the defensive coaches come and go I feel rather alarmed that Les Miles coaching career just might be to late for tears. And that our LSU football program is in the throes of a fast decline football team about to fall over the cliff in 2015.
I was hoping the Clancy Pendergast hire could right the LSU ship but now I am getting afraid that Les Miles has lost the ability to fix anything LSU ever again.

Yeah, knowing you as the longtime Les Miles fan, I teared up at your
loss of faith in the guy. ROTFLMAO! Pendergast, mostly an NFL guy, IMO
clearly is looking for an NFL DC job. But hey, next time I see your
good buddy Les Miles....you know the guy you have praised and never ever
criticized and pass along your disappointment in him. I'm sure he will
be crushed.

Ha ha ha don't take pulling for the LSU football team to be worrying over Les Miles, because as you know I am not his supported at all. The LSU football program of course is a horse of a different color.

BTW,
since ESP is so accepted here, I predict Brossette will flip from LSU
to Texas. And nooooo, that is not another fictional loss caused by
Chavis departure since he is a RB. I think he sees the depth chart at
that position over the next few years and he will never see the field at
LSU IMO for years.

It's
a shame that a school known for its D in recent years (thanks to
Chavis) is having trouble landing a Defensive Coordinator.

Maybe LSU can improve its reputation for defense and actually get off
the field on 3rd and long and not choke the end of games on defense.
Oh, and BTW, glad Jim K did the research on LSU's supposedly great
defense. SEC stats include ALL games. Jim K said the other day that
LSU is nOT #1 in defense in SEC games....they are 4th in defense in the
SEC if you strip out the cupcakes that all the teams play. Holding ULM
and SHSU skewed the stats mightily in LSU's favor.

@dualfnyman Valid point!! You actually just got a thumbs up from me on that.

You
can only fool most of the people for so long and people are getting
tired of being duped by these hollow victories in Tiger stadium. The
playoff system is going to end all this off the field posturing and
position to gain high ratings and increased ticket sales.

Nonsense but keep spamming the same message over and over. At least
you are testing the theory that if you post the same garbage over and
over again, someone might actually pick it up and consider it treasure.
I'm betting against you by the way.

Miles
has always had a problem when he is 'under pressure' and on the clock.
One thing is for sure, he needs a lot of great assistants as that has
kept him as successful as he has been and he has been good at it and
recruiting except for quarterbacks. Miles knows this hire is critical in
regard to HIS job as criticism and
restlessness is increasing among the people who attend the games. These people like many in college football want to get their money's worth as they are putting out big bucks and want a REAL winner, not one that goes around beating second rate, second division teams in Tiger stadium.
