This is the ninths of a weekly series where we'll send questions to a beat reporter or other member of the media who covers LSU's opponent. This week's preview "from the other sideline" comes courtesy of Daniel Paulling, an Ole Miss beat writer for the Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss.
Q: The disappointment in Louisiana following LSU's back-to-back losses to Alabama and Arkansas has been vocal, to say the least. Ole Miss has suffered its own slide the past month and a half — almost as quickly as its rise up to No. 3 in the AP Poll. What has the reaction been like during those ups and downs?
"The reaction from fans has been about the same as everywhere: This team is horrible and let's fire some coaches. The players admit their intensity and focus were lacking throughout the middle portion of the season, and I think the stress of playing 10 consecutive games (along with the accompanying injuries) caused them to drop. They're still battling injuries (Fadol Brown, Tony Conner), as well as a serious situation with Denzel Nkemdiche."

Thomas Williams:
Quote: "Ole Miss fans are excited, but it seems odd to me to say LSU will lose
its third straight game for the first time since, I believe, 1999. Les
Miles' comments that he wasn't worried about the atmosphere of playing
at Vaught-Hemingway (or something to that effect) really amped up their
feelings."
And Les Miles tells LSU sports reporter. Quote: "I want to get the running game working again."
So I'm picking Ole Miss with a Head Coach who can coach, because you can see and hear for yourselves that the LSU Tiger Head Football Coach Les Miles, can't coach. Ole Miss-34, LSU-17, final score.

LoneStarTiger 1 hour agoA lot of familiarity in what Miles said just two years ago...“First of all, I’d like to congratulate Coach Freeze and the Ole Miss Rebels. They played a hell of a game. I can tell you that I did a poor job on preparing this football team for playing this game. There is a way I could prepare this team to put them in a better position, emotionally and prepare them to play in the kind of stadium that they played in tonight. We gave them too many turnovers, not patient enough handing the football off to run the football, and that’s my fault being impatient. Our football team will get better. This one is on me. I take it.”
Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.
