Real Tiger football fans should not do what ESPN tells them to do.

Thomas Williams
"Lord have mercy upon us Christ have mercy upon us, lord have mercy upon us Christ have mercy upon us."

I thought that all those monks shuffling around with their prayer beads chanting "Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy," were truly crazy people dressed in monk robes hiding from the realities of humankind's behavior because of their collective mindset, people who were simply too afraid to face everyday reality anymore. People who I could never understand.

Wow! That was of course not until I just witnessed LSU Les Miles college football coaching saga in LSU Tiger Stadium.

"Lord have mercy upon us, Christ have mercy upon us."

How could LSU pick a man who could not coach? Carrying him off the field waving goodbye Charlie with their signs saying, "We love Les."

You mean to tell me that the LSU tiger football fans like Show over substance, because Les Miles can't give them what they want. Tens of thousands of the LSU tiger fans now like an incoherent man who can't coach the LSU tiger football team. Paying him $4 million dollars to keep continuing doing what we see Miles doing on the sidelines coaching LSU.

Frankly I wouldn't run a snowball stand business like that, and keep asking these same LSU football fans are you out of your minds following what ESPN is telling you to do?

And now I also know how Pontius Pilate felt as he washed his hand over Christ, by saying to the Jewish people “if you want him crucified, you go do it."

So now I have a social humanitarian who can't give me a first down to win the college football game, and Coach Les Miles can't give that to us. I thought I was free and you crazy LSU people started crying over Les Miles the great social humanitarian.

And all we wanted was a good college football coach..”

"Coach Mark Richt is out at Georgia, a day after the Bulldogs beat Georgia Tech 13-7 to finish" ...

So the LSU tiger fans who love Les Miles can now tell everyone working at ESPN who these tiger fans want to be like. That they are the proud people who still wants to feel good over paying a good man $4 million dollars to not do the job that he was hired to do. "Love you Les!"

Source: Decision on Les Miles finalized in 2nd half of Saturday's win

  • ESPN.com news services
Les Miles will remain as coach at LSU, athletic director Joe Alleva said Saturday night, ending a week of intense speculation that he would not return.

A source involved in the talks told ESPN's Joe Schad that the decision to retain Miles was not made until the third quarter of Saturday night's 19-7 victory over Texas A&M.

"Obviously there's been quite a bit of speculation in the past few days about the future of our football coach and our football program," Alleva said. "I made it very clear that my policy is to wait till the end of the season, and obviously it's the end of the regular season.

"The season's complete, and I want to make it very clear and positive that Les Miles is our football coach and he will continue to be our football coach. I'm looking forward to working with Coach Miles as he leads this team to a bowl game and another great recruiting class."

After the victory over the Aggies, Tigers players lifted Miles on their shoulders and carried him down the field toward the student section as the crowd chanted "Keep Les Miles! Keep Les Miles!''
