Our disappointment in Les Miles is now spreading to the people running LSU.

Thomas Williams ·
What a ridiculous show and argument about Les Miles coaching deficiencies this is turning out to be now. Because all we wanted was for LSU to make a first down against our university's football nemesis Alabama, so LSU could win the football game in 2014 LSU Tiger Stadium, and Head Coach Les Miles could not help the LSU football team to even do that for us. So Alabama marched down LSU home football field in under 55 seconds to tie, and win that football game in over time.

Now after experience this latest Les Miles LSU Tiger Stadium saga about Miles leaving LSU and that his coaching job has been saved anyway. The after effect of which seems something like listing to all of those insufferable scientists talking to me about Global warming, and who seem just like a bunch of petty political thief's instead of real scientist. That who you know, instead of what you know, has been the on going corrupted way of life by the Washington DC establishment crony capitalism forever, and ever, and ever, amen.

Les Miles offense stinks but some of the LSU college football fans are still voting for him anyway, can you imagine that? And what Les Miles knows as a college football coach doesn’t matter at all to even the people running LSU now. So my disappointment in the people that I want to help the LSU football team make a first down, so LSU could win that most important college football game, is now not just limited to Les Miles only. Because my disappointment in the people running LSU seem to be spreading like some kind of Ivy League bull talking wise guy. Who keeps trying to use everyone politically just for his own self serving political purposes. And you and me the voter doesn't really matter to him at all.

Rabalais: After tumultuous week, it’s easy to be happy for Les Miles

After tumultuous week, it’s easy to be happy for Miles

Some opinions and observations in the wake of the “Coach stays” scene from “Hoosiers” that played out in real time at LSU …

It’s no surprise that Les Miles’ players carried him off the field after Saturday’s landmark 19-7 win over Texas A&M. There is no disputing Miles’ players have always loved playing for him, so they physically expressed their devotion when they thought they would lose him.

It’s easy to be happy for Miles personally. He has in most respects been a quirky pleasure to work with for 11 seasons. He hasn’t had any problem being true to himself and his emotions or sharing those with others, like flying to Michigan the week of LSU’s 2006 season finale to attend the funeral of his beloved mentor, Bo Schembechler; or opening his heart this season to a dying young fan named Sid Ortiz.

It’s also important to remember that coaches are people, people with families. Late in Saturday’s game with Texas A&M, Miles’ youngest daughter, Macy Grace, ran through the common area of the press box with a broad smile on her face, perhaps convinced that her dad’s Tigers were about to come through against the Aggies.

Coaches’ families go through the wringer much of the time, even when times are good. And even though Miles will stay at LSU, it appears certain that some of his coaches will be moving on.

The run game is just a matter of blocking assignments that can be ironed out on the practice field. Either blockers and runners can get it done, or they cannot. If they cannot, no amount of practice changes the results. The passing game, on the other hand, is a far more complicated beast, especially for the quarterback, who must be nurtured. So, why do we spend the majority our cupcake games (and there are a lot of them) running the ball (the answer most likely is so we can pad statistics)? Cupcake games should be all passing. And if it means we lose the game? So be it. Either we take the loss now and get it over with, or we choose to be Alabama's next cupcake down the road.

Now that the program and the coach is a complete lame duck, it is not easy at all to be happy for Les Miles. Recruiting will suffer because of the highly publicized poop show that was kicked off by you-know-who.

Supported Miles for years, though thought that after the debacle of three games in a row in November with all of the talent on the team it was time for him to leave.

The entirety of the LSU Ath. Dept. is now a complete laughing stock, and to me, coach Miles is a good man and all, but I no longer find him funny.
