Seriously tigers with friends like this who need enemies.

Thomas Williams

I now know that the reasons why this Les Miles coached LSU football team doesn’t move the football on offense in an more efficient way, is mainly because of the LSU Athletic Department. Who simply now appear to be a bunch of very bad misbehaving managers who have been mismanaging the LSU college football program ever since Nick Saban left to go coach the pro Miami Dolphin’s back in 2005.

And that the LSU football fans were doomed without knowing it because the LSU fans kept trusting that the men on the LSU board of supervisors were competent intelligent people. Now how else can we explain all of this ugly abuse to the LSU college football program brand, going on now in 2015?

It wasn’t the Louisiana sport’s media who kept giving Head Coach Les Miles a pay raise, and contract extension, even though Les Miles was never going to coach another college football team any time soon. No that foolish behavior came directly from the men running the LSU Athletic Department.

So now after 11 years the LSU football fans are stuck with this back into the SEC pack Les Miles style of coaching LSU college football program. And watching an overpaid LSU coaching staff abused and used the talented LSU football players on the LSU football team, who of course deserve better managers instead.

So the Louisiana good old boys responsible for running LSU college football program are going to let the LSU football team standard to keep working towards excellence slide into feel good limbo, just as long as the LSU football fans keep filling up LSU Tiger Stadium. Because the Louisiana LSU good old boys in the good old boys club are the true blue bloods that really love LSU win, lose, or draw, right.

Yeah right! When the LSU football players on this LSU football team think that they have friends in the likes of this LSU board of supervisors, AD, Les Miles, leading them into battle every Saturday against the best of the rest, who need enemies.

Dandy Don's LSU Sports Report

Good morning, Tiger Fans,

Last night Leonard Fournette learned that he is not a finalist for this year’s Heisman Award, and simply put, that’s a crying shame. In this day and age of “what have you done for me lately,” it’s easy to understand why the Tigers’ three-game November skid, combined with the fact that LSU didn’t play in a conference championship game, would send Fournette spiraling down from the overwhelming favorite to win the award to an outsider looking in, but it doesn’t make it right. Fournette led the nation in rushing yards per game for almost the entirety of the season and still does today, and the integrity he has demonstrated in his pursuit of excellence is second to none. I have nothing against the three young men who were named as finalists – Alabama running back Derrick Henry, Stanford running back and return specialist Christian McCaffrey, and Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson – but Fournette deserved a spot up on the stage alongside them. In the past, as many as five finalists have made the trip to New York, but this year there will only be three. As they say, there’s no use crying over spilled milk. All we can do now is move on and hope that this injustice fuels Fournette’s fire in 2016.

Moving on… Yesterday I heard from many of you who are very apathetic about LSU playing in the Texas Bowl against Texas Tech, and the news of LSU playing in such a ho-hum bowl on a Tuesday night, combined with the statements Coach Miles made about the team’s offensive problems being more related to execution than coaching, has a lot of Tiger Fans feeling discouraged about the 2016 season. Many of you I’ve heard from see no reason to believe that 2016 will be any different than 2015. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I don’t see it that way. And I can assure you that I am not alone in thinking LSU should fare better next season. In fact, many of you will be surprised to see that ESPN has published these Odds to Win the 2016 National Championship which show multiple oddsmakers pegging LSU as the second most likely team in the nation to win it all, behind only Ohio State. So why are the folks in Vegas feeling so optimistic about LSU? My guess would be it has something to do with the fact that LSU will return a second-year starting quarterback, the best running back tandem in the league in Fournette and Derrius Guice, virtually all of its wide receiving corps, its entire defensive line and one of the deepest and most talented secondaries in the country. Also, LSU has a favorable schedule with home games against Alabama and Ole Miss. It also helps that Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Alabama are all losing their quarterbacks to graduation, and Bama will have to replace several members of its staff including defensive coordinator Kirby Smart. Some will say my optimism is a result of “seeing through purple and gold glasses,” and I won’t deny that I have a pair, but I can assure you the oddsmakers who are touting LSU’s 2016 season do not.

Of course, one thing that could change LSU’s 2016 outlook in a hurry would be if LSU were to lose a key assistant like Ed Orgeron. I mention that only because there are increasing reports that Coach O could return to USC if he’s offered a position on their staff. On Sunday, Trojans Coach Clay Helton dismissed defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox and defensive line coach Chris Wilson, along with other assistants, and that has led to a lot of speculation about Coach O’s future. I hear that Orgeron is happy at LSU and loves working with Les Miles, and so far I’ve heard nothing to indicate that he’s thinking of returning to USC, but it’s certainly something to watch.
