wave of anti-LGBT legislation is nothing other than an updated version
of Jim Crow, inspired by Marriage Equality, among other social advances.
Where it is able to succeed, I don't think it will last nearly so long as the old Jim Crow, because the nation as a whole has advanced beyond such things. The leadership of the private sector corporate, athletic, entertainment media, and other powerful economic forces have a very different role in our society than they did in 1950, and they increasingly appear to be willing to wield their power and influence on the side of Justice.
What that means to me is, even if Congress is slow to act, Society isn't, and is already slowing the advance of the darkness that ALEC and the religious right are teaming up to promote. Social conservatives may get ONE Presidential election cycle out of this as a GOTV issue, but I doubt they will get two.

agree, but unfortunately the "New Jim Crow"--(mass incarceration of
non-whites for minor drug offenses)-has been around a while and the
public isn't nearly as interested in acting fast.
