Like you said, "LSU 7-3 Tigers football team ended No. 2 Arkansas' 22-game winning streak by scoring a 14-7 victory in the 1966 Cotton Bowl in Dallas." Became a very big deal back then and I do remember how the Dallas Morning Newspaper was taking that LSU Cotton Bowl upset to pour it on the Arkansas college football program.
The Dallas Newspaper hates the Hogs because Arkansas was a true rival of Texas back in those days. The Dallas writer was saying something about " The Arkansas Razorback giant was flailing his arms falling to the 7-3 LSU Tiger." Or something like that.
That was truly a great victory for LSU college football program back then.
