The ESPN analyst doesn't pull any punches.
Thomas Williams - Some of the LSU fans have really hurt LSU image over the years because they are just so damn stupid. That they are very embarrassing to listen to in public.
--------
Brock Birchfield - What’s embarrassing is having ed Orgeron as an HC!!
------
Evan Sonnier - proved his point
-------
Jeffery Blackwood - I agree we could have prob did better than O. But no sense in complaining, he's our coach now. Just support the team, and see how things go this year. Last year wasn't that bad for his first full year. That lost to troy was an ugly one though.
-------
Randy Reed, Jeffery Blackwood - not to mention he hadn't played with any of his recruits. This year and next will be on coach O.
-------
Jeffery Blackwood - I hear ya, Randy. I got a few worries on offense. Mainly of QB and RB, I think Helaire, or however you spell his name is gonna be the next beast back at LSU. I think Brennan can be great too. He still looks kind of anxious though.
-------
David Watts - We just need that BIG win against Bama to get our confidence back. It's been a lonnnnngggggg time.
-------
Brock Birchfield - We just need a competent HC and we can get back to winning
-------
Kevin Bee, F - you
--------
Evan Sonnier, Brock Birchfield - are you an athletic director?
-------
Richie Burtt - Need to worry about Miami, UGA, and UF this year. I don't really care about Bama right now. Need to focus on getting back to beating everyone else, THEN Bama will matter.
--------
Warren Martin Jr. Brock Birchfield - the fans hired Coach O because he is one of them. Lol.
--------
Richard Farmer - Every team has stupid fans!! We already know that!!
--------
Brock Birchfield, Evan Sonnier - 31-34 record as an HC says enough about O
--------
Kevin Brothers - Had a run in with an out of the blue belligerent LSU fan at Bryant Denney a few years back. He came in late and I never saw him again once halftime had started. To the credit of all the other LSU fans all around us, they took up for me. Was a culture shock no doubt. We’ve got em too though 🙄😎. Roll Tide.
-------
Thomas Williams, Kevin Brothers - Yes, that is the right kind of sportsmanship most of the college fans have. Except for the people who keep projecting ugly emotions into the same football game that the rest of the sports fans are seeing. So when I go to a football game I always hope to sit down with people like you that really don't feel like hurting the other football team players, coaches, and fans, and are not watching a football game with a stupid attitude like that! Losing the football game is bad enough when LSU plays Alabama, and that we don't need to lose our self-esteem and dignity too.
May the better team win.
--------
Jody McDaniel, Brock Birchfield - did you know that Les Miles was only 28-24 at Oklahoma St. as a head coach before coming to LSU?
What about Nick Saban being 34-24 at Michigan St. before going to LSU?
That's right, and Michigan St. & Oklahoma St. both were nowhere's close to being as talent depleted as what Ole Miss was when Orgeron took over that program. I put it to you like this, Ole Miss's then-President since then has openly said it was an almost impossible task for Orgeron to have been successful at Ole Miss. Not only was there a huge difference between the talent level of the LSU's, Florida's, Auburn's & Georgia's of the SEC versus Ole Miss at that time, but outside of Vanderbilt Ole Miss was spending the least amount of money on recruiting in the SEC. That was something that Orgeron unsuccessfully tried to change during his time at Ole Miss. The former Ole Miss President said that ED Orgeron was a far better coach than what Ole Miss gave him the opportunity to be. It's kinda like the former Ole Miss President said, how can you expect to beat those teams when they already have more talent than you do, along with putting more resources in recruiting each year than what you are. Ole Miss didn't give Coach Orgeron the tools to be successful as a head coach. Nobody, not even Nick Saban would've succeeded at Ole Miss at that time. Yet even with those limitations at Ole Miss, Orgeron still did one helluva of a good recruiting job. Those two really good seasons that Houston Nutt had at Ole Miss, well that was courtesy of Ed Orgeron recruited players.
Now I'm not saying one way or the other as far as what kind of a coach he'll end up becoming for LSU, but I will say this much about him so far. During his short time as LSU's head football coach, I've certainly seen him address some of the issues that Les Miles had been overlooking for a few years. Things such as having absolutely zero depth alone both sides of the line of scrimmage. The lack of using juco players to help build that much-needed depth. The thought process of believing that having a top 10 recruiting class is the secret to having success, even though that top 10 recruiting class is consistently only made up of RB's, WR's, DB's & players that won't even qualify academically to get in school. I mean Les Miles forgot somewhere along the way that you have to actually recruit according to needs and in anticipation of who might leave early for the NFL or transfer out of the program. The truth is hopefully LSU can extend their nation-leading 18 consecutive seasons of winning at least 8 games or more each season because of the depth issues at certain positions that's gonna show up this season because of Les Miles's last few recruiting classes at LSU. Hell, Miles wasn't even signing enough players to cover his allotment of available scholarships during his last few recruiting classes.
