"LSU Recruits another 5 Star Running Back"

"LSU Recruits another 5 Star Running Back

The LSU football staff signed arguably the nation's best running back class for the 2019 cycle, landing both five-star John Emery and four-star Tyrion Davis during December's Early Signing Period.
Emery is ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 2 running back prospect, while Davis is ranked as the No. 6 running back in the country. No other college football team signed a higher-rated pair of running backs in this year's cycle.
How will the Tigers fare a year from now when the next crop of running backs sign with a college?
LSU entered 2019 with nine verbal commitments and the No. 2 class in the country, but none of the commitments on board so far are running backs.
One of the names at the top of the wish list: five-star Zachary Evans.
At 6-foot and 205 pounds as a junior, Evans has already proven to be the complete prospect. He's dominated on the high school field as one of the best backs in the country, and his verified 4.51 40-yard dash, blistering 3.91 shuttle and 34-inch vertical make him one of the best testers in the class, regardless of position.
Evans has LSU in his lead group, and now he will be back on campus this weekend for an unofficial visit as he begins to dive into a busy offseason of visits and camps. The Tigers have been recruiting Evans since he emerged onto the scene at North Shore, and he's already been a participant at multiple LSU summer camps.
LSU's had luck recruiting North Shore in the recent past, landing elite prospects like linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson and safety Eric Monroe.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball has predictions in for Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State, but with a year until Evans signs with a college, the Tigers are in a good position to keep making a push for the No. 1 prospect in the state of Texas. Evans is ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect in the country by the 247Sports Composite.

The Tigers will also host an offensive lineman this weekend when Alabama three-star offensive tackle Brady Ward returns to campus for another unofficial visit. The St. Paul's (Mobile, Ala.) junior is listed at 6-foot-7 and 310 pounds and holds double-digit college scholarship offers. Ward's father, Brian Ward, was an offensive lineman for the Tigers. There have been no predictions made on his 247Sports Crystal Ball.
LSU signed four offensive linemen in December, reeling in Kardell Thomas, Anthony Bradford, Thomas Perry, and Charles Turner. It's unclear if the Tigers will sign any more offensive linemen with the six available scholarship spots for February's National Signing Day, but the staff does already hold one offensive line commitment for the 2020 class in four-star Courtland Ford out of Texas. Louisiana four-star Cameron Jackson is listed as a defensive lineman, but he could also project to the offensive line at the college level."
