Myles Brennan recovering from a "significant" injury
Here's the latest from LSU head coach Ed Orgeron on starting quarte
-------
"But the Tigers never had to face off against the Gators, but they are back on the practice field this week to prepare for Saturday's home game against South Carolina.
Will Brennan be there when LSU takes the field?
"We are expecting him back early during the week," Orgeron said. "He is questionable. It has taken him a little more time to heal. And he is questionable for the game."
Last week, Orgeron shed some additional light on the injury, which came in the second quarter of the loss to Missouri. Brennan finished out the game to throw for 430 yards and four touchdowns in the 45-41 loss.
"That's the hit that he's pretty bruised up," Orgeron said. "Was pleased to see he took it, pleased to say he went in at halftime, he was very sore and it was hard for him to rotate and throw the ball, but he went out in the second half and didn't blink so very proud of him.
"He has a significant injury to his lower body. It's taken him a little more time to heal. We thought we would get him back (Monday), but he's not. I'm not sure he's going to play."
Brennan's completing 60.3 percent of his passes for 1,112 yards, 11 touchdowns, and three interceptions on the season through LSU's 1-2 start, making him one of the nation's top quarterbacks to begin the 2020 season.
"He's playing as good as I hoped he would. I can tell you that," Orgeron said. "And I believed in him, and I always believed in Myles. And I always said that. But I knew he had some stuff to get better at. I think the coaches have done a tremendous job of coaching him up.
"He's a coachable kid. He's in here every day. He's the first one I see here every day. He's studying. He's getting better. He's got a lot of want to in him."
