Luckily you are still ok with the right attitude.

William Thomas - Facebook

February 19, 1972.
If I had remained married to my first husband, yesterday would have been my 50th anniversary. His name was Steve Wortham. He was the last of 8 children. His Mom should have stopped at 7!
Steve didn't like me working. That was fine except he didn't like to work.
I was working the 11 to 7 shift at the old Baptist Hospital. The director of nursing called and, wanted to see me. I thought she wanted to see me about the morgue gurney with pillows shaped like a person, covered by a sheet and a surprise face drawn on the head pillow. It had been put on the elevator and all the buttons had been pushed. I was prepared to give my alibi.
The old army nurse surprised me. "I just got a call from your husband. He wanted to know why you're here taking care of sick people when he's at home being sick." Uh, because you all pay me, wasn't the wisest thing for me to say. I toed the line or I was outta there.
Then she said, "Don't you dare slam that door!" I hadn't thought about it but, it was too tempting. BANG went the door, along with my job
Without sleeping that night, I was taking a nap. Steve came in, grabbed me by my clothes, and threw me down the hall. I got my keys, my purse, and my dog and drove to my parents. Steve followed. I told him to let me cool off and, I would come home the next morning.
The next morning Mom told me I had to return home. "But Mom, he wants me to iron his underwear, he came home the other day, pulled out the stove to see if I had cleaned there. Thank goodness I had." Mom wasn't going to change her mind. I headed home
Steve was in the Air force Reserves. He had many male friends so, I wasn't surprised at the strange car in the drive. The front door was chained. Steve didn't know I had a key for the side door. He came rushing into the kitchen, in his tight white underwear. I knew right then. "Get that slut out of my bed!" He replied, "Wait. I want to get her a cup of coffee " She could hear everything but waited for her coffee. I guess when she heard the coffee machine break, she decided to leave. My parents came and got me since Steve had taken the keys.
I saw Steve after my Mom had died. He was bragging about his son being a barber.
I needed some info for my book and called him. A funeral home called me. Steve had died. His cousin had paid for the funeral. Steve's son had taken all of Steve's money to pay for his drugs. His cousin told me, the family had all told Steve divorcing me was the biggest mistake he ever made. All of them are gone now, including the cousin. His cousin was a police officer and was shot in the line of duty!
I hope you liked reading this story it was a hard one to write.

That was a harsh experience living with the wrong number, hell, it was hard enough being with the right number, proving to me living with the wrong number is impossible. Luckily you are still ok with the right attitude.
