Geaux Big Whit #77! I see some trying to claim Joe Burrow as a son of Louisiana, and to each their own. He is an exceptional athlete.
HOWEVER, the real native son of Louisiana in this Super Bowl is Andrew Whitworth #77 for the LA Rams. Big Whit was born in Monroe LOUISIANA. He attended Claiborne Elementary in West Monroe, OCS Jr High and West Monroe Jr High. Big Whit graduated from West Monroe High School, where he was on State and National Championship Football teams for the Rebels. He was a 5 star recruit, and one of the top Offensive linemen in the nation. He 100% committed to LSU. He redshirted his Freshman year for the Tigers, then went on to set an LSU record playing or starting in 52 games over his FIVE years at LSU. Big Whit never missed a game or a practice due to injury. His 52 starts ranks 2nd highest in NCAA history! Big Whit also was on the LSU National Championship Team in 2003.
Big Whit has played in the NFL for 14 years, and is the oldest player at 40 to ever start a game at left tackle. Some of his NFL accomplishments include:
2× First-team All-Pro (2015, 2017)
Second-team All-Pro (2014)
4× Pro Bowl (2012, 2015–2017)
NFLPA Alan Page Community Award (2019)
Built Ford Tough Offensive Line of the Year (2018)
Last, but certainly not least, "The Big Whit Foundation", located in West Monroe, LOUISIANA! His foundation has helped local high school seniors pursue higher education, local families pursuing adoption, and other programs across OUR AREA.
THE BIG WHIT 77 FOUNDATION SERVES A MISSION TO IMPACT THE LIVES OF YOUTH AND FAMILIES IN LOCAL COMMUNITITIES.
While I like Joe Burrow as an athlete, 2 years out of 25 doesn't make him a Louisiana boy, and definitely has no association with our local community. Joe was born up north. He went to High School in Athens, Ohio, out of all his college offers, he chose OHIO STATE. He was a Buckeye 2015, 2016, and 2017, where he graduated. After graduation as a Buckeye, then he transferred to LSU to play for the Tigers in 2018 & 2019. He was part of LSUs 2019 Championship team, and got his Master's from LSU. Now, he is back in his home state of OHIO as a Cincinnati Bengal.
Joe did have this quote yesterday when asked about his diamond JB9 chain with Nike swoosh, " They're definitely real" "I make too much money to have fake ones, so, these are real". His millions may soon go to his head.
Give em hell Big Whit!

Another proud LSU Football player becomes successful.
Video: Odell Beckham Jr. Shares Heartfelt Embrace With Mom After Rams’ Super Bowl Clinching Win By Nick Meyer on January 31, 2022
"Odell Beckham, Jr. has had a lot of ups and downs over the course of what could be a Hall-of-Fame caliber career when it’s all said and done, culminating with the punching of his ticket to Super Bowl LVI for Sunday, February 13. Beckham was picked up by the Los Angeles Rams back in November of 2021, and has since become a security blanket of sorts for quarterback Matthew Stafford, proving his dependability and versatility in the Rams’ win over San Francisco on Sunday yet again. ‘OBJ’ racked up 9 catches for 113 yards on the evening, helping stake the Rams to a 20-17 victory over the 49ers."

The video shows the lighter side of a world-class athlete and receiver who has often lamented the way the media has portrayed him over the course of his NFL career, now in its eighth season. Beckham’s mother, full name Heather Van Norman, was an NCAA Champion sprinter during her college days at LSU, as shown in the video below.
