We once walked and talked there much like you.

 Thomas Williams - Facebook

If you live in and around Jackson's Square, New Orleans French Quarter. You'd be getting prepared to walk over to Cafe Du Monde. Have yourself a great cup of coffee with some hot Begines. Chances are you'd be sitting around with the local Painters Drawing the Tourist portraits around the Saint Louis Cathedral, Cabildo, and Presbyterian Hall, selling their artistic skills. Beauty is in the mind of the beholder, but we could agree that sometimes everything around us is better than what we see or hear between people trying to relax being themselves. And how we feel good about each other anyway.

I would leave work before and wait outside her job on Bourbon Street. Listen to the jazz singers until she is free too.

Being together, I could feel her trusting me after taking a shine to me. It wasn't hard to protect her beauty because I became invisible next to her, as she was always pulling me closer, kissing off their advances.

She was good at ignoring the men and women who hit on her almost everywhere we went in public.

So we had a lot of great moments together when left alone by this hungry generation.

Looking back, since she passed away. I keep seeing her profiled in the night light as we sit sipping our coffee, watching the Mississippi River reflect the light of New Orleans across the dark water while her expressive eyes love me.

We once walked and talked there much like you, vulnerable to the mistakes you would rather die before making around the person you love.

We wound up having thirty years together, and how that is, of course, would never be enough, but thirty years never less is better than nothing.

♥ "I'll Be Seeing You" ♥ (most beautiful heartwarming version)
