Tinker:
How many people must die in Syria before our present leaders in Washington DC seriously try and stop the slaughter?
How much respect do you think that America will receive in the future. When the American people go to visit Syria in years to come?
My guess is that the Syria people would see the American people as citizens of the world's most powerful free government.
And that they will naturally feel revulsion towards the American people. For not really trying to help them save the lives of their son's, daughters, parents, friends, living in Syria.
Helpless to a killer determent to stay in political power. I think that they might even simply hate the very sight of the American citizens. After America left them to die in the rubble of their homes and building in their neighborhood in Syria. And not to even send them the means. So they could fight back with equal armament. Because Assad the killer, was being supplying by Iran. With whatever war weapon that he needed.
After 60 000 Syrian death at the hand of Assad. The American government should come to the Syrian people rescue now. Because I do think that being late, is much better then never. Never is a very long time to be ashamed nation.

LSU raises pay for Miles
The LSU Board of Supervisors on Friday afternoon approved a two-year contract extension for football coach Les Miles that should keep him in Baton Rouge through 2019.
The full board, as expected approved the $30 million, seven-year pact.
The deal bumps Miles’ annual salary from $3.751 million to $4.3 million over the seven-year term.
Friday’s board approval was something of a formality after details of the new contract were first announced in December. It came together around the same time the University of Arkansas was courting Miles for its then-vacant head coaching position.
LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva said at the time the new deal was in the works before Arkansas approached Miles.
“Les Miles is one of the most successful coaches in America and he has the LSU program in position to compete for championships each and every year in the most dominant football conference in the country,” Alleva has said in a prepared statement. “He recruits at an elite level, his players graduate and he is a respected member of the community.”
The contract is loaded with a number of incentives including a car allowance and the opportunity for Miles to earn up to $500,000 annually in post-regular season benefits.
Miles would earn:
- $100,000 for playing in the Southeastern Conference Championship game.
- $100,000 for winning the SEC Championship game.
- $100,000 for appearing in a postseason bowl game.
- $200,000 for playing in a Bowl Championship Series game.
- $200,000 for winning the BCS National Championship game.
The contract contains a number of other incentives rewarding Miles for player academic performance, graduation rates and cumulative team grade-point average.
Since the season ended Dec. 31 with a last-second 25-24 loss to Clemson University in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, a record 11 underclassmen have declared their intent to enter the National Football League draft in April.
But LSU is expected to land one of the top recruiting classes in the country on National Signing Day Feb. 6.

LSU Coach Les Miles noticeably absent from ESPN's list of top recruiters
Do you think Les Miles is one of the 10 best recruiters?

Latest Recruiting News
As do administrators, fans, players -- heck -- even the most casual of college football spectators know it, too.
And what, may you ask, do they all know?
It's
that recruiting is the lifeblood of college football. Without a steady
diet of top talent, coaches have little chance of producing, and/or
sustaining winning programs.
So it might come as quite a shock that a certain LSU coach is noticeably absent from ESPN's list of top recruiters.
Sure,
Alabama Coach Nick Saban is No. 1, followed by Ohio State's Urban
Meyer, Baylor's Art Briles, Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin and Clemson's
Dabo Swinney -- makes sense, the rankings are subjective.
Then
on to Vanderbilt's James Franklin, Florida's Will Muschamp, USC's Lane
Kiffin, Notre Dame's Brian Kelly and finally, Stanford's David Shaw
rounds out the top 10.
Still, Les Miles is nowhere to be found.
But
wait, there's an honorable mention category. Surely a coach that's won a
BCS National Championship and had his team play in another, all while
winning SEC championships, sustaining a winning program and sending
about as much talent to the NFL as any coach in the country -- including
the man who sits atop these rankings -- deserves an honorable mention.
Right?
Well, the answer, according to ESPN's Travis Haney: No.
Do
you disagree with ESPN's rankings? If so, let your thoughts be known

VIDEO: Les Miles talks New Orleans, Harbaughs
By Jerry Hinnen | Blogger
January 31, 2013
Question for the day: Did Les Miles arrive at LSU
as the occasionally unhinged, grass-eating, emotions-on-his-sleeve Mad
Hatter perfectly suited for the unique rhythms (and challenges) of
coaching football in the state of Louisiana, or did those rhythms (and
challenges) change what had been a perfectly sane coach into one with a "distinct flavor" of bayou passion?
It's worth asking because it's worth remembering that Miles's early life and early football career were nearly as far from Baton Rouge, culturally speaking, as it's capable to get; he was born in Ohio and attended Michigan to play for Bo Schembechler. While Miles was there, he was also coached by Wolverines assistant Jack Harbaugh, and later got to know the two Harbaugh sons who would wind up coaching against one another in this Sunday's Super Bowl.
In this interview with Tracy Wolfson, Miles talks about his relationship with the Harbaugh family -- but also, appropriately, takes time to praise the New Orleans setting for the Super Bowl, the two "phases" of Miles' career, if you will, combined into one interview. Watch:

LSU wins first SEC road game
Lady Tigers beat Auburn 59-55 behind 21 from Webb
Tiger Rag News Services
AUBURN, Ala. - Adrienne Webb, a senior playing in her home state, poured in a game-high 21 points and freshman Danielle Ballard collected a clutch steal in the final 20 seconds as the LSU women’s basketball team escaped Auburn with its first Southeastern Conference road win of the season by a score of 59-55 on Thursday night in Auburn Arena.
The victory lifted the Lady Tigers (13-8, 4-4) back to .500 in Southeastern Conference play and snapped a five-game road losing streak. It sets the stage now for a monumental week in the Maravich Center featuring three ranked teams in seven days beginning with No. 16 Texas A&M on ESPN2 “Big Monday” at 8 p.m. CT. Half-priced tickets for the annual “Gold Game” can be purchased now at www.LSUtix.net.
“Auburn is a very good defensive team, but our team hung tough,” said LSU head coach Nikki Caldwell. “We stayed together, and I was very proud of them. It was one possession with two minutes to go and we finished it off. We made some free throws down the stretch. We made the plays we needed to. There was composure and they didn’t get rattled.”
Webb, a native of Madison, Ala., drained 8-of-16 from the floor and buried three from three-point range to record her third 20-point game of the season. She accounted for the final margin with a free throw in the final second.
“Webb works extremely hard and she proved it tonight,” said Caldwell. “She disrupts people and has great foot speed. Her teammates did a tremendous job finding her tonight. She gets in the gym after everyone and has shown her leadership all season.”
Theresa Plaisance, the SEC’s leading scorer, added 16 points and became the first Lady Tiger since Sylvia Fowles to record 20 consecutive double-figure scoring games. Sheila Boykin and Derreyal Youngblood made contributions off the bench as Boykin grabbed five boards. Ballard finished with eight points and collected four steals.
LSU never trailed after the 11:34 mark. With the Lady Tigers leading 51-50, Jeanne Kenney threw an outlet pass to Plaisance, who laid it up and in. Auburn’s Tyrese Tanner countered with two free throws and the Tigers (13-8, 2-6) missed an ensuing three that paved the way for two key Kenney free throws.
Auburn had one last shot to tie with the score 55-52 and 0:18 to play. That’s when Ballard reached into the air and picked off Najat Ouardad’s pass. Ballard was fouled and she calmly drained a pair of game-clinching free throws that made it 57-52 with 0:18 to go.
“It was a terrific play by Danielle,” said Caldwell. “She does so many different things for us. There were times she missed some shots, but I like her competitiveness. She got some key boards and steals.”
Blanche Alverson’s desperation made three came too little too late as LSU held on for the gutsy win.
Despite committing 25 turnovers that led to 18 points, the Lady Tigers shot 45.8 percent from the floor and out-rebounded Auburn 36-32.

Basketball is about having the ability to make baskets. Shooting. Scoring enough points. You girls are having your troubles struggling to win. Just keep remembering that the wind chill now in Wisconsin is - 21. That the Mardi Gras in Washington DC is fun. But it’s still not New Orleans.
Because here down in south Louisiana. Where the weather is warmer in the American Mardi Gras birthplace. That you LSU women. Still have each other to keep working your talent’s with, again and again. Into fighting shape.
So just keep remembering who you are, and where you are from. No one can relax and party like you. Because you are the real deal. So relax, and keep up the LSU fighting tiger spirit… And win!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wAMr3V5lN4

I hope to see a lot of you next week at the Recruiting Bash. Now that I've posted my photo at the top of this page along side my Dad’s, those of you who attend the event will know who to look for. I'll have a DandyDon.com booth setup and will be passing out hardcopies of my list of Top LA Football Prospects for the Class of 2014. If you’re not able to attend the event but want to keep up with the Signing Day action, keep your browser on our page of Commitments/Signees. As a player’s name is called, we will post it along with the time that their official papers were received. And for those of you who use social media, please follow DandyDonLSU on Twitter throughout the day as John (my nephew) and I will be tweeting from the Bash.
This morning I awoke to the news that Robert Nkemdiche will visit LSU this weekend, and that’s great news for Tiger Fans. Nkemdiche has had LSU in his top-2 for quite some time but was believed to be a lock to Ole Miss after his recent visit, but you never know what could happen once he gets on LSU’s campus. The timing couldn’t be better as the visit gives LSU a shot to make a big impression just days before Signing Day. Stay tuned, Tiger Fans, this could get interesting.
At this point and time, LSU’s recruiting class is ranked No. 4 by 24/7Sports, No. 5 by Rivals, No. 5 by Scout and No. 6 by ESPN. If LSU can just hold on to what they have and end without any negative surprises like last year’s Torshiro Davis flip to Texas, this will be a very solid group. With the addition of someone like Nkemdiche, it could skyrocket to the top.
The biggest needs for this year’s class are at the helm and in the trenches, and Coach Miles has done a great job of addressing these needs. LSU went out-of-state and brought in two very impressive and highly recruited quarterbacks in Hayen Rettig and Anthony Jennings. He also brought in five great prospects – Ethan Pocic, Andy Dodd, Josh Boutte, Karl Malone Jr. and Fehoko Fanaika – to help solidify an offensive line that was stricken with injury and attrition last year. On the other side of the ball, Coach Miles and staff suffered the loss of underclassmen Barkevious Mingo, Sam Montgomery and Bennie Logan to the NFL draft and addressed the need for depth in the defense line by bringing in Frank Herron, Greg Gilmore, Christian LaCouture, Michael Patterson, Maquedius Bain, Lewis Neal and Tevin Lawson. As I mentioned yesterday, Lawson is kind of in limbo and might not end up as part of this class.
Another position of need is tight-end, and LSU currently has commitments from two good ones and could add another. The two current TE commitments are from DeSean Smith (No. 3 on out list of Top LA Football Prospects for 2013) and Logan Stokes. Since senior tight ends Chase Clement and Tyler Edwards graduated and Nic Jacobs transferred, I wouldn't be surprised to see LSU bolster their depth at tight end by pursuing a third commitment in this year’s class in Rummel’s Cethan Carter (No. 24 on our list of Top LA Prospects for 2013). Carter currently has a greyshirt offer from LSU, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see that bumped up to a full offer in the coming days.
The Tigers also need a couple of tall wide receivers and are filling that need with 6'4" Quantavious Leslie and 6'3" Kevin Spears (No. 27 on our list of Top LA 2013 Prospects). In all honesty, I feel like I might have Spears ranked a little two low, and I’m very excited about his potential. I’m also excited about having Travin Dural (from last year's signing class) back in action and fully recovered from the knee injury he suffered last summer.
If there’s a shortcoming in this year’s class, it might be at defensive back. LSU has commitments from several very good ones, but doesn’t really have any pure safety prospects except for Jeremy Cutrer whose qualifications are in question. That’s one reason I’m especially pleased with the recent addition of Duke Riley (No. 12 on our list of Top LA 2013 Prospects), who is primarily a linebacker but has the measurables and potential to be a great safety. Really, it’s hard to consider DB too much of a weakness in this year’s class when you consider that LSU has commitments from TreDavious White (No. 2 on our list of Top LA 2013 Prospects), Rashard Robinson and Ricky Jefferson.
In other news related to recruiting, today I’ve continued posting my list of Top LA Football Prospects for the Class of 2014 by adding numbers 71-80. Next Monday I will reveal numbers 1, 2, and 3. Tuesday I will reveal 81-100, and Wednesday I will post the Best of the Rest. I welcome your comments on my list, which, as I've stated before, will remain a dynamic list-in-progress throughout the year.
In basketball news, LSU’s Lady Tigers picked up their first SEC road win with a 59-55 victory over Auburn. Senior Adrienne Webb, playing in her home state, scored a game-high 21 points, and freshman Danielle Ballard collected a clutch steal in the final 20 seconds. The victory lifted the Lady Tigers (13-8, 4-4) back to .500 in Southeastern Conference play and snapped a five-game road losing streak, setting the stage for a monumental week in the Maravich Center featuring three ranked teams in seven days beginning with No. 16 Texas A&M on ESPN2 “Big Monday” at 8 p.m. CT. In closing, I need you to remind you that time is running out in our annual fundraiser, and we need your help to finish strong. Please take a moment to read this message on the importance of contributing, and then take a moment to pledge your support. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
