Breaking late LSU recruiting news:
Robert Nkemdiche @Aceboogie_001
Tinkers Sunday sermon:
Quote by Kathleen Sebelius; That the American people concern about Obama health care mandate contraception. Don't need to worry about their moral objections any longer.
Sorry Lady. Because I still am very worried about women aborting healthy fetus, developing human beings. That is a very chilling moral objection that I can't seem to shake? That people are stopping the natural unborn growth of a new unborn baby. Simply gives me the creeps. And truly hurts my heart.
People without morality objections. In the health laws of their society. Whatever advanced programs that they the doctors achieve in medical contraception. Are still playing around with not being human at all. And just keep aggravating a very dangerous way of life for humanity. I am very glad that my mother never felt like some of those people. Who not only talk like that. But in reality don't have a moral objection to abortion?
Please, let us pray anyway?

Contraception Mandate Clarified To Accommodate Religious Groups, Obama Administration Announces
Faced with nearly 50 lawsuits by employers with religious objections, the Obama administration announced on Friday new details of the contraception coverage rule that clarify which employers will be exempt from having to cover contraception costs for their employees. The new rules announced on Friday eliminate some confusion over which organizations qualify for the exemption by requiring employers with religious objections to self-certify that they are non-profits with religion as a core part of their mission. Religiously affiliated organizations that choose to insure themselves would instruct their "third-party administrator" to provide coverage through separate individual health insurance policies so that they do not have to pay for services to which they morally object.
“Today, the administration is taking the next step in providing women across the nation with coverage of recommended preventive care at no cost, while respecting religious concerns,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. “We will continue to work with faith-based organizations, women’s organizations, insurers and others to achieve these goals.”

Let us pray:
Tinker: Performers are always a little nervous. But taking dope, alcohol, substitutes of all kinds. Can never satisfy their natural need for what feels real.
Matters of our hearts are filled with the magic of our soul. Only reality can satisfy the successful performer. Some people don't ever know what a human soul looks or feel like. No matter how many examples that they have had throughout human history. People with natural ability like a beautiful singing voice, and natural entertain talents. Feel nervous because they are simply human. People blessed with - what seem like to us mortals - a stroke of genius. Will not necessarily have the introverted feeling for their own soul. Lost, and not knowing why?
So it is quiet nature for people who are blessed with beautiful features, to feel nervous before performing. All successful performers are nerves before they perform. If you are one of them, you are not alone. But if you are a blessed person with both great skill and true understanding of your immoral soul. Then you are one of the exceptions.
To many time the great entertaining performers are not blessed with both. And are like most of us every day people who must work hard at our realities. If we are to gain personal satisfaction. Mattered of the heart and soul are naturally like that. Nervous feeling are only human for everyone. And the lord is still there waiting patiently. For everyone feeling nervous, unsure, and alone. Pray in your own way. And he will be right there beside you always. No matter how talented and intelligent you are.
Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest."

Sports; " I feel the need for speed! "
Tinker: Chasing Nick Saban reputation must be old hat for the mad hatter "Les Miles" in college football. Because the recruiting cat is out of the bag now. All of the college football fans have seen the results of Nick Saban Alabama success. So the recruiting chase is on. Flying into the danger zone...Where going along to just get along, will not make it. I feel the need for speed!? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58QOBqAWNzE

Norma:
I have been thinking about the future of LSU football and I have thought that perhaps we are looking at this a little wrong. Did the LSU football season go wrong because the coaches called the wrong play or maybe the players are not able to execute the play that was called. Now granted either way this is a coaching problem. Are the coaches not recruiting the right players, or maybe the coaches are not able to get their vision across to the player? It is obvious that Miles is not going to change the offensive coaches, so what to do?
The QB Zack did not catch on until late in the season, but the secondary defense did not improve either. We could not depend on the running game. So in the end we were lucky to win the 10 games that we did win.It still gets back to the coaches, they must do a better job of recruiting the smart players that will buy into their football theory of course they must have the skills to go along with that. I thing the QB of Bama is a good example, he is similar to a Matt Flynn, not to skilled but understands the Saban game plan. LSU needs more key players that will buy into the Miles Plan, what ever that is.
I mean please we are just talking football not brain surgery. All these so called top recruits mean nothing if they can't make the play work, I don't care how many stars they have, if they are not disciplined, smart, and athletic then they are going to be lost. So, that is my thoughts.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass;----------------------
It's about learning to dance in the rain.
Tinker:
Absolutely dead-on ( Norma) in your viewpoint of what the LSU fighting tiger football team must do. In order to become a very successful college football program. At the level of being the best college football team playing that game today.
Apparently knowing what they want to do is much different for them, then for them to know how to get there. But in any case the football is in their arms. If Les Miles does not run to the finish line soon. He is going to be left far behind in the highly competitive SEC.
I agree completely in what you have said!----------------------

Dandy Don's LSU Sports Report
Good morning, Tiger Fans,
With only four days until National Signing Day, LSU is entertaining the nation’s No. 1 prospect and his teammate this weekend. Of course, I'm talking about defensive end Robert Nkemdiche and cornerback David Kamara. The two arrived in Baton Rouge last night and have been receiving the red carpet treatment. They were joined by several members of the football team and taken to dinner at Texas De Brazil where LSU legend Shaquille O'Neal made an appearance. Jeremy Hill snapped a photo of himself, O'Neal, Nkemdiche, Kamara, Jeremy Cutrer and Nkemdiche's friend Toyosi Sanni, and tweeted it via Instagram. Check out the pic.
Things appear to be going very well, but will it be enough to sway the most highly sought after player in the country and propel LSU's recruiting class to the top? Only time will tell. The good news is we probably won’t have to wait in suspense all day Wednesday for the answer as Knemdiche is scheduled to make his announcement on ESPNU at 7:35 ET, according to this ESPN Signing Day Announcement TV Schedule.
As you can see in Hill’s photo, LSU commit Jeremy Cutrer is also in for his official visit to LSU this weekend. As I mentioned a couple of days ago, it's looking like Cutrer will not qualify and will have to go the JUCO route before making his way to LSU. Cutrer had not yet gone on his official visit to LSU, so I assume he just wanted to take it all in and see what’s in store for him when he becomes qualified to join the team. Super Bowl makes another splash in Big Easy
AFP
February 3, 2013
This is the first Super Bowl since the Big Easy was hit in 2005 by the massive storm, which killed close to 2,000 people and caused billions of dollars of damage in four American states.
"I think our guys really understand the whole dynamic here, just like everybody does," said Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh.
"Everybody in America understands Katrina and New Orleans and the renaissance as you put it.
"We drive the buses to all those different places, and we get a chance to look at some of the neighbourhoods and things like that. You can tell guys are looking at it. I have a great respect for the people of New Orleans."
Harbaugh's Ravens will face the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League championship game on Sunday at the Superdome stadium.
This marks the 10th time the Super Bowl has been held in the city and the sixth time at the Superdome -- which sheltered thousands of people for several days after Katrina made landfall.
"It is a great opportunity to put New Orleans back on the map after what happened here," said 49ers star quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
The most significant number of deaths from Hurricane Katrina occurred in New Orleans, where the levee systems failed. Floodwaters lingered for months, leaving 80 percent of the city and large areas of the neighbouring parishes under water.
The recovery has been slow but steady, with the economy picking up as businesses seek to get back to pre-Katrina revenue totals.
And football revellers are getting a double dose of high octane partying, with the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras coming in the same month.
"This is not your older brother's Super Bowl," James Carville, chairman of the Super Bowl Host Committee told USA Today newspaper.
City officials have pulled out all the stops to let visitors know New Orleans is on top of its game again. The state of Louisiana provided $6 million and the local organizing committee raised $7.5 million to put on the game.
The Superdome, which is located just blocks from the city's famous Bourbon Street, has been spruced up on the outside with giant banners promoting the extravaganza. Extra security, including police on horses, has been added to the downtown core, and additional city maintenance crews have kept the streets and sidewalks clean for visitors.
"We would love New Orleans to be in a regular Super Bowl rotation," Carville's wife, Mary Matalin, who is also a member of the Super Bowl Host Committee, told the newspaper.
"The country will be shocked to see how well the city is doing. It's been a unifying event for the city on a topic greater than sports. It's a great story to show how it is done, how the whole community can engage to rebuild."
New Orleans will be tied with Miami for the most Super Bowls hosted. Four of the first 12 Super Bowls were in New Orleans from 1970-78.
The last Super Bowl in New Orleans was in 2002, three years before Katrina severely damaged the Superdome. The stadium has been repaired and the renovations ahead of the most watched single event in American sports are now complete.
Civic officials put to good use the relief money that poured in after Katrina. The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport received a $350 million face-lift while another $52 million was spent on a downtown street car line.
Millions were also spent on fixing up downtown hotels, museums and the convention center. The latter is now being used as the main media center for the Super Bowl, which attracts journalists from all over the world.

NEW ORLEANS
Sometimes, figures don't figure. Two weeks ago, I tried predicting the outcomes of the NFL conference championship games by giving all four teams a number grade between 1 and 10 in 10 different categories. The results were mixed.
San Francisco came through over Atlanta. The equation didn't add up for New England against the Baltimore Ravens.
I've brought back my abacus and NFL knowledge (stop chuckling) to take another stab for Super Bowl XLVII.
This isn't a Joe Namath-style guarantee on who will win Sunday between the 49ers and Ravens. But the final point total below should reflect which team will be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.
Again, emphasis on should.
Quarterback
Baltimore: His name doesn't carry the same gravitas as peers like Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, but Joe Flacco is on pace for one of the greatest postseason statistical performances in NFL history. He has thrown eight touchdowns with no interceptions during the playoffs. The only quarterbacks to finish the postseason with at least nine touchdowns and no interceptions are 49ers greats who are now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: Joe Montata (11 TDs in 1989) and Steve Young (nine TDs in 1994). The further emergence of Flacco as the league's best deep passer puts him in line for a massive offseason contract extension. Grade: 8.5.
San Francisco: A little more than two months ago, Colin Kaepernick was making his second career NFL start in New Orleans replacing the injured Alex Smith (concussion). Kaepernick is now returning to the Louisiana Superdome on the verge of leading his team to a championship. Kaepernick's running skills and strong arm have provided elements to San Francisco's offense that were lacking under Smith. Kaepernick also continues to show poise beyond his years. He didn't panic when the 49ers fell behind 17-0 in Atlanta before mounting a comeback. That is encouraging as Kaepernick prepares to step onto an even bigger stage Sunday. The experience edge, though, goes to Flacco. He has more playoff road wins (six) than any other quarterback in NFL history. Grade: 7.5.
Ground game
San Francisco: The judicious use of Frank Gore during the regular season is paying dividends. Gore's average of 16.1 rushes per game was his lowest total since his rookie campaign in 2005. With his 29-year-old legs fresh, Gore churned for 119 yards in a second-round win over Green Bay and followed that with a 90-yard, two-touchdown performance against Atlanta. Gore (215 yards) and Kaepernick (202) are the NFL's leading postseason rushers. Rookie LaMichael James and Anthony Dixon also have roles in the running game. Grade: 9.5.
Receivers
Baltimore: Flacco's top targets have developed niche roles. Torrey Smith is the deep threat, averaging 22 yards on his nine playoffs grabs. Anquan Boldin is the go-to guy when the chains need moving. All but two of Boldin's 16 postseason catches have resulted in first downs. Tight end Dennis Pitta has earned the nickname “Big Smooth” from teammate Jacoby Jones because “he runs routes like a receiver.” Pitta has catches of 20-plus yards in all three playoff games as well as two touchdowns. Defenses also must account for Baltimore's running backs. Rice led all AFC running backs in the regular season with 61 catches. Grade: 8.
San Francisco: For two years in the playoffs, Vernon Davis has reminded teams that he would notch far more prolific receiving numbers if showcased on another team. Davis is averaging a ridiculous 27.6 yards on 16 catches along with five touchdowns. The Falcons lost track of Davis and paid the price as he snared five passes for 106 yards and a touchdown. Michael Crabtree continues to carry the load for an otherwise average wide receiver corps. Randy Moss proclaimed himself the greatest wide receiver in NFL history earlier this week. The claim is laughable. Jerry Rice looked far more spry at age 40 than Moss does now at 35. Grade: 7.
Offensive line
San Francisco: This is arguably the NFL's top unit and deservedly draws consistent praise from 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh. Left tackle Joe Staley was the only Pro Bowl selection, but a strong argument could be made for left guard Mike Iupati and right tackle Anthony Davis. Right guard Alex Boone is a hammer when pulling on trap plays. Without strong blocking, 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman wouldn't have the chance to show so much creativity with his formations and play calling. Grade: 10.

Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans is another step in the recovery from Hurricane Katrina, and 2018 Super Bowl would help complete it
The Super Bowl is different, the closest we have in this country to a national sports holiday. That is why it is such a tremendous thing that the game has come back and why it has to come back in 2018 for New Orleans’ Tri-Centennial celebration.

Alligators slow their metabolic activity in winter, but there is no such torpor with football in southern Louisiana, which has an outsize influence on the N.F.L. relative to the size of the population.
The presence of Baltimore safety Ed Reed and the receiver/return specialist Jacoby Jones will provide a 16th consecutive Super Bowl with players from the region. They have hailed from the river towns, cypress swamps, bayous, sugar cane fields and crawfish ponds near Interstate 10 as it follows the Mississippi up from New Orleans to Baton Rouge and then ribbons westward toward Lafayette in the Cajun country.
As the 2012 N.F.L. season opened, Louisiana had 61 players in the league — more per capita than any state (though slightly fewer than Washington, D.C.) for the fourth consecutive year, according to USA Football, the national governing body. In settings both urban and rural along the I-10 corridor, football fits seamlessly into an outdoor culture that takes its fun seriously, be it sports, cooking, imbibing, hunting or fishing.
“We’ve got kids who can play on the offensive line and put together a motor on a boat blindfolded,” said John Lambert, an assistant at Hahnville High who grew up in West Virginia and sometimes wonders to himself, “Did I just really yell, ‘Leave the alligator alone?’ ”
The regional craving for football is fed by a well-organized youth development system, sophisticated and long-term coaching at the high school level and liberal rules that, in effect, allow Louisiana’s prep teams to practice year-round within certain limits.
Only 10 other states permit spring practice. The best recruits from this area are ready to play as freshmen in the Southeastern Conference, college football’s best and most demanding league.
John Curtis Christian School of suburban New Orleans was voted the 2012 national high school champion in a number of polls. Leonard Fournette, a running back at St. Augustine High in New Orleans, is considered by some the country’s top high school prospect in 2013. Even after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the talent in New Orleans that produced Super Bowl champions like Marshall Faulk and Eli and Peyton Manning remains as plentiful as Mardi Gras beads hanging from oak trees along St. Charles Avenue.
“Some of these programs, even the cheerleaders run 4.4,” said Frank Monica, the coach at St. Charles Catholic, which won the Louisiana Class AAA title in 2011.
St. Charles Catholic is upriver from New Orleans in a fevered, blue-collar region of cane fields and chemical plants known as the River Parishes. Of the eight high schools in the area, seven have won state football championships. The Ravens’ Reed played at Destrehan High. Corey Webster, a Giants cornerback, played at St. James High. As the quarterback in a no-huddle offense, Webster baffled defenses by calling plays at the line of scrimmage in French, even if his best friend, a running back, usually needed a translation.
“He would stand next to me and say, ‘Give it to me in English; I ain’t got that French,’ ” Webster said, laughing, in a telephone interview. Read more...http://www.nytimes.com/

Nkemdiche confirmed via his Twitter account on Thursday night that he will indeed take a visit to LSU this weekend, likely his final trip before he announces his decision at 7:35 a.m. EST on Wednesday.
"LSU tomorrow, what up!" Nkemdiche tweeted Thursday.
Nkemdiche spent last weekend in Oxford, finally taking his official visit after taking several unofficial visits during the fall.
Ole Miss has been the favorite to land Nkemdiche since he de-committed from Clemson in November, mainly because it's the preference of his mother that he and his older brother play together in college. Denzel Nkemdiche was a freshman standout on the Rebels defense last fall.
During interviews at the Under Armour All-America Game last month, Nkemdiche spoke very highly of LSU, but has since waffled about whether he'd actually visit.
Following last week's visit to Ole Miss, Sunday Nkemdiche, Robert's father, told RebelGrove.com that he and his son are very comfortable with the Rebels coaching staff.
"I like Ole Miss because the program is on the rise and they have a very good coach," Sunday Nkemdiche said. "They're having success now. I'm very familiar with the coaching staff."See video and read more...http://lsu.rivals.com/

LSU expecting another top-5 recruiting class
Robert Nkemdiche, shown here in the Under Armour All-American game, is expected to visit LSU this weekend. Nkemdiche is currently committed to Ole Miss / US Presswire
BATON ROUGE — LSU may have an eventful final days to the recruiting season after all. In fact, it could be a “super” weekend.
Late Thursday, the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect -- defensive end Robert Nkemdiche of Grayson High in Loganville, Ga. -- decided he would visit LSU this weekend after all, according to Michael Scarborough of Tigerbait.com/Rivals.com.
Earlier this week, the 6-foot-5, 260-pound Nkemdiche canceled a scheduled visit to LSU.
Nkemdiche is still considered a strong lean to Ole Miss, where his brother Denzel is a starting linebacker. One of the only other expected visitors to LSU this weekend is 70th-ranked cornerback David Kamara, a teammate of Nkemdiche at Grayson. Kamara (5-11, 185) has already committed to Ole Miss.
Even if LSU’s class of 2013 does not finish with a final flourish, though, it is still expected to remain in the top five nationally as Miles and his staff completed most of the heavy lifting by last August. The loss of a targeted prospect for a need position to a blood rival this week should not drop the Tigers. Eddie Jackson, the No. 48 wide receiver in the nation out of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., committed to Alabama on Wednesday.
“Some casual recruiting fans are lamenting the fact that LSU isn’t finishing with something big late in the process,” Scarborough said. “But what they are not grasping is that the staff had over 20 commitments in August, which is an all-time LSU record.”
LSU’s class of 27 commitments is currently ranked No. 5 by Rivals.com behind Florida, Notre Dame, Alabama and Ohio State, No. 5 by Scout.com behind Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Texas A&M and No. 7 by 24/7 behind Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, USC and Notre Dame.
“I think this class is one of the better classes we’ve seen since Les Miles has been at LSU,” Scarborough said. “I think it is slotted very well between last year’s class, which wasn’t as good typically for LSU, and the 2014 Louisiana class. The 2014 class in this state is looking to be in the same realm as the incredible 2001 and 2011 years in Louisiana.”

Quarterback Matt Flynn's first season with the Seattle Seahawks didn't pan out quite as it was expected to — Russell Wilson's breakout season ensured that. But with more than a few teams in need of some help at the quarterback position, Flynn's name will likely be a top target of teams looking for help at the helm.
Flynn signed a three-year, $26-million contract before the start of the 2012 season, thinking he'd get a chance to parlay his success as Aaron Rodgers' backup in Green Bay into the starting gig in Seattle. Sure, as Seattle coach Pete Carroll said, Flynn had to compete with Tavaris Jackson for the spot, but Flynn tossed six touchdowns against the Detroit Lions in a start in Week 17 for the Packers. Claiming the starting job would be a cinch.
Instead, Wilson ended up being among the NFL season's best story lines and relegated the 27-year-old to the sidelines. Wilson nearly brought the surprising Seahawks to the NFC Championship Game, and his future in Seattle looks bright.
Carroll and the Seattle staff even engineered an offense that better fit the mobile Wilson instead of the more pocket-oriented Flynn.
So when teams and general managers looking to improve their quarterback situation start their search this year, Flynn's name is bound to come up as a top potential trade target. As the Seattle Times points out, Flynn is due $5.3 million next season, a sizable fee for a backup quarterback, so the Seahawks could be interested in moving Flynn.
Add a relatively weak NFL draft class and plenty of teams looking for help, and Flynn's name will probably be mentioned plenty these next few months.
