Brad Wing: No point denying it, ‘It’s Bama week’

Tigers prepare early for Nov. 3 game against Crimson Tide

The serious preparation and game-planning for LSU’s Nov. 3 game with Alabama won’t come until next week, but Tigers punter Brad Wing knows there’s no reason to try to fool anyone now.
“It’s Bama week for us,” Wing said Thursday after LSU completed its third and final practice before taking a break for Saturday’s open date. “It’s just a longer week.”
The Tigers will take a break from the physical Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with some players returning home for a brief visit and others just lounging around and watching college football.
Of particular interest will be the game between No. 6-ranked LSU’s next two opponents: No. 13 Mississippi State at No. 1 Alabama, Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
“Even though we won’t be doing anything physical,” Wing said, “we’ll be mentally prepping for that game.”Read more...http://theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/4244463-123/wing-no-point-denying-it

Dandy Don's LSU Sports Report
Good morning, Tiger Fans.
As I'm sure most of you have heard by now, the hot topic of discussion among LSU fans is yesterday's arrest of four former LSU players. Tyrann Mathieu, Jordan Jefferson, Derrick Bryant and Karnell Hatcher were all arrested on drug changes. According to the police report, Mathieu and Jefferson were charged with simple possession of marijuana, Hatcher was charged with second offense simple possession of marijuana, and Bryant was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Police were called to the scene after receiving a complaint of a man, later identified as Jefferson, forcing his way through a security gate to get to Mathieu’s apartment. They smelled pot, searched the apartment with Mathieu's permission, and found a scale, a grinder, and 10 bags of high-grade marijuana. Seven of the bags were found inside Bryant's book-sack.
As you all know, Mathieu still had a year of college eligibility and was hoping to get reinstated on the LSU football team next season, but I think it's safe to say that his chances of that happening have now gone up in smoke. The chances of him moving forward with a prosperous NFL career are greatly diminished as well. Read more...http://www.dandydon.com/
