Hand in hand, not so much.

GoldRing: "Is LSU then considered by the SEC sports writers covering the elite SEC college football programs, to be more like the rear end of the better schools playing SEC college football these days.  Because I keep reading sports writers that keep saying that LSU and Les Miles goes hand in hand. My goodness, how in the world can some people come up with that kind of bull talk observation? Quote:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1451069-lucky-les-miles-might-be-the-mad-hatter-but-he-belongs-at-lsu?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=lsu-football

Les Miles can't really coach college football. He is a very lucky guy to be hired by LSU who has a steady stream of the best high school football players in the state of Louisiana going to play college football there. Making LSU one of the SEC schools who have a built in advantage over the other NCAA college football schools.

Les Miles talked himself into getting hired by LSU after Nick Saban added to the LSU in state high school recruiting advantage. Building up a bigger and better big time recruiting program that was institutionalized by Saban into the old war school over the five year tenure he coached at LSU. Winning a national Championship in 2003. Saban left for the NFL and left behind all the inner workings of a big time college football program.

Les Miles had a lucky built in 7-5, 8-4, 9-3, 10-2, 11-1, easy picking winning college football program. Hence the phrase about Les Miles, as being a quote, "lucky head college football coach." The luck that the sports writers attribute to Les Miles is not luck, but a practical reason of the LSU football teams that is out manning the average college football teams on the LSU football schedule year after year.

When the LSU tiger football team play a equally strong SEC college football team. The below average talents of Les Miles coaching skills become exposed to the LSU football fans. Who naturally begin to wonder why the talented fighting tiger football teams keeps struggling to score points. And are pitifully unable to simply achieve critical first down in order to become winners over Alabama, Florida, Georgia, ECT. Year after year this strong SEC college football region has plagued the LSU tiger football fans into constant frustration over Les Miles poor offensive football teams.

They the LSU football fans of course know that Les Miles lack of coaching talent has been an ongoing handicap to their desires of one day seeing a very dominant LSU football program. When LSU loses a close fought college football game it is almost always Les Miles fault. Les Miles is lucky are right, because how does a college LSU fan base get LSU to fire a 10-2, 9-3, or even 8-4, college football head coach. Throw in a 10-2 National Championship that a Les Miles LSU football team won in 2007. And the LSU fans are stuck in neutral. They are not likely to fall further back. And just as unlikely to go any further forward also. So yes, Les Miles is a lucky man to keep making millions of dollars coaching college football at LSU. Even though he can't really coach college football.

So the LSU football fans will just keep getting bull talked by the ever LSU advising sports writers spinning machine for suckers, over the Les Miles coaching tenure at LSU for many more years to come. Yes, Les Miles the mad hatter is a very lucky man indeed. LSU football fans, not so much."

LSU Football: Why the Chick-Fil-a Bowl Is Important for Les Miles

Obviously, winning any postseason bowl game is important for any college football coach.
But for as good as he has been in his time at LSU, somehow, some way, LSU football coach Les Miles still has his doubters.

The Tigers were the top team in the country throughout the entire season last year, and then, after an ugly shutout loss against Alabama in the BCS title game, those "haters" began chirping in on Miles and his lack of proper preparation for that game.

This season, the Tigers went 10-2, a pretty darn good record for most programs. The team's two loses came against SEC foes Florida and Alabama, both of which are playing in BCS bowl games this January, with the Tide squaring off against Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship Game.

Yet despite that solid 10-2 mark, the Tigers took a free-fall down the bowl pairing and got matched up against a good 10-2 Clemson team in the Chick-Fil-A-Bowl.
Anyone who follows college football knows very well that the SEC is the filet mignon of college football, and the ACC, which Clemson plays in, is the equivalent of cafeteria flank steak.

That is why this game is that much more important for Miles and his LSU football team.
Clemson may play in an average to below-average conference, but make no mistake about it, this is a talented football team with several future NFL players on the roster.

Miles needs to make sure his team prepares properly for this game, just as he would any other game, because a big win against a good Clemson team would then possibly silence all those Miles doubters—at least for the time being.
Clemson has an electric offense and LSU has a dominant defense, which points to this being a great football game, and one that Miles needs to add to his belt of solid wins for this LSU football program.

If the old saying of "defense wins championships" holds true in this contest, then Miles and the Tigers should be all good. Read more...http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1453141-lsu-football-why-the-chick-fil-a-bowl-is-important-for-les-miles
