The Phony show of Tweedledee & Tweedledum - 42 days until zero...LSU vs TCU

Tinker:

Of course a lot of other America people are seeing the selfsame phoney "Dog and pony show" going on in Washington DC, that I am seeing.

And now that the TV networks have joined up with the Aristocracy politicians running the big American government political production moving big money into the pockets of the in crowd, controlling the corruption running the TV propaganda shows that goes on, and on.

Nothing is going to change come hell or high water until one day a generation as of yet unborn people stops them.

If anyone is still left standing from a systematic abusive American government that just keep taking, and taking, and taking.

Sarah Palin Denounces Immigration Reform, Says Senate Trying To 'Pelosi' Through An 'Amnesty Bill'

The Huffington Post  |  By Posted: 06/24/2013 1:08 pm EDT  |  Updated: 06/24/2013 7:30 pm EDT
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) blasted the Senate immigration bill early Monday, criticizing lawmakers for refusing to focus on border security while insisting on amnesty for undocumented immigrants.

Writing in a Facebook post, Palin said that the forthcoming Senate vote on a comprehensive reform package amounted to Congress trying to "Pelosi" the bill forward. She described that verb as "pass[ing] it in order to find out what’s in it," an apparent reference to a controversial quote from then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in 2010 about the passage of Obamacare.

Palin went on to claim that the "amnesty bill before the Senate is completely toothless on border security." She said the Senate's earlier rejection of a number of amendments suggested that lawmakers were only interested in giving undocumented immigrants an unaccountable pathway to citizenship.

Through all of Palin's apparent concern about the pending legislation, the former vice presidential candidate made no mention of a recently reached border security deal. HuffPost's Elise Foley reported on the compromise last week:

The bill mandates that significant increases to border requirements be met before undocumented immigrants can move from provisional status to legal permanent residency. Given those increases, it's likely to be expensive: aides said they expect a cost of about $30 billion for 40,000 border agents to be hired and deployed, rather than the 21,000 agents in the original bill. The deal would also require 700 miles of fencing and more funding for aerial drones and surveillance of the U.S.-Mexico border. Some of these strategies are similar to what is being used in Iraq and Afghanistan, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a member of the gang of eight, told reporters of the amendment.
Either unaware or unsatisfied by those developments on border security, Palin wrote that giving undocumented immigrants a path to citizenship would only help further "bankrupt" the government. The Congressional Budget Office has predicted the bill would reduce the deficit by about $200 billion over the next 10 years and by about $700 billion over the following decade, but Palin cites a highly controversial Heritage Foundation report that claimed immigrants would provide no net economic benefits, and would only cost the nation by drawing from entitlement programs.

Despite her opposition, Palin appeared to concede that the Senate would pass immigration reform.

"As the Senate moves to pass amnesty, the only bright spot in this travesty is the rallying revolution we can look forward to," she wrote. "For just as opposition to Obamacare became a rallying cry for the 2010 midterm elections, opposition to this fundamentally transforming amnesty bill will galvanize the grassroots in next year’s elections. And 2014 is just around the corner."

While many have similarly predicted that the Senate will pass the bill, the fate of the package in the GOP-controlled House appears far less certain.

The Big Story

Documents show IRS also screened liberal groups

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Internal Revenue Service's screening of groups seeking tax-exempt status was broader and lasted longer than has been previously disclosed, the new head of the agency acknowledged Monday. Terms including "Israel," ''Progressive" and "Occupy" were used by agency workers to help pick groups for closer examination, according to an internal IRS document obtained by The Associated Press.

The IRS has been under fire since last month after admitting it targeted tea party and other conservative groups that wanted the tax-exempt designation for tough examinations. While investigators have said that agency screening for those groups had stopped in May 2012, Monday's revelations made it clear that screening for other kinds of organizations continued until earlier this month, when the agency's new chief, Danny Werfel, says he discovered it and ordered it halted.

The IRS document said an investigation into why specific terms were included was still underway. It blamed the continued use of inappropriate criteria by screeners on "a lapse in judgment" by the agency's former top officials. The document did not name the officials, but many top leaders have been replaced.

Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee released 15 lists of terms that the IRS agency used and has provided to congressional investigators. Some of the lists, which evolved over time, used the terms "Progressive" and "Tea Party" and others including "Medical Marijuana," ''Occupied Territory Advocacy," ''Healthcare legislation," ''Newspaper Entities" and "Paying National Debt."

Cruz: ‘Abolish the IRS’

By Daniel Strauss - 06/03/13 04:19 PM ET

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Monday pressed for eliminating the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) amid the scandal over the agency's targeting of conservative political groups.

Cruz called for replacing the current tax system with a flat tax.

"I think we ought to abolish the IRS and instead move to a simple flat tax where the average American can fill our taxes on a postcard, put down how much you earn, put down a deduction for charitable contribution, for home mortgage, and how much you owe," Cruz said in an interview with Fox News on Monday."It ought to be just a simple one-page postcard and take the agents, bureaucracy out of Washington and limit the power of government," he added.

Lawmakers are probing the IRS's use of higher scrutiny for Tea party groups seeking tax-exempt status.

Cruz said the scandal highlighted the extent to which the White House would use its powers to go after political opponents.

"The Obama administration has demonstrated a willingness to use the machinery of government," said Cruz.

The Texas senator has been one of the most outspoken proponents of overhauling the tax system. In May, after news broke of the IRS scandal, Cruz tweeted that the only way to prevent that conduct from happening again was to get rid of the agency.

Senator Ted Cruz         @SenTedCruz
Mr. President, if your #1 priority is fixing the problem, let's abolish the and ensure it NEVER happens again!
---------
The new chief of the IRS, Danny Werfel, testified before Congress on Monday, vowing to correct the problems within the agency.

"We have a great deal of work ahead of us to review and correct the serious problems that have occurred at the IRS and continue the important work of the agency on behalf of taxpayers," Werfel said.

Sgt. 1st Class Dillard Johnson is the deadliest US soldier on record - with 2,746 kills

EXCLUSIVE
With 2,746 confirmed kills, Sgt. 1st Class Dillard Johnson is the deadliest American soldier on record — and maybe the most humble.

As a commander of a Bradley Fighting Vehicle nicknamed “Carnivore,” Johnson, 48, helped lead the ground assault during Operation Iraqi Freedom, overwhelming the enemy with a relentless show of military might that left a trail of dead in his wake.

Johnson was obliged to report confirmed kills to his superiors, cataloging the dead in a green journal that revealed the astonishing tally — which only began to come light as he and co-writer James Tarr were researching his exploits for his memoir, also titled “Carnivore.”

GIVING SADDAM A ‘FLAT’: The “Carnivore” — the Bradley Fighting Vehicle commanded by Army Sgt. 1st Class Dillard Johnson — makes a meal of one of dictator Saddam Hussein’s armored Mercedes-Benzes during the Iraq war.
There may have been a deadlier soldier in an earlier war, but since detailed records have been kept, Johnson tops the list.

It’s a mantle he is reluctant to embrace.

“It’s sort of sad to say, but they’re just another pencil mark,” Johnson told The Post, referring to his journal notations. “I didn’t think of the numbers . . . That’s not a boast I would make.”

Johnson, 48, grew up in Island, Ky., hanging out in strip mines and hunting deer with his daddy’s gun. His first kill came at the tender age of 13, when he nailed a six-point buck with a .22-caliber rifle.

In high school, he joined the ROTC, and in 1986, he joined the Army, fulfilling a childhood dream spawned from the pages of comic books.

“When I was growing up, everyone wanted to be an astronaut, a cowboy, or a firefighter. I wanted to be Sgt. Rock,” he said, referring to DC Comics’ gritty WWII hero.

In Iraq, he joined Charlie Troop, 3rd Squadron, 7th Cavalry, going on to hunt bigger game — wiping out a truckload of Iraqis with six high-explosive rounds in March 2003 at the battle of As Samawah, his first KIAs.

EXCERPT: DILLARD JOHNSON'S MEMOIR 'CARNIVORE'

He counted the dead by tallying rifles — and human heads — among the mangled or charred wreckage left behind by the Carnivore.

In his second tour, in 2005, he took up sniping, logging 121 kills, his longest from 821 yards, a skill that was honed hunting in Kentucky. His total is second only to the late Chris Kyle, the Navy SEAL who had 160 kills.

“I had already had the talent of being able to shoot due to the fact that I grew up with a rifle that wasn’t zeroed to me,” he said, recalling his early use of a gun calibrated for his father.

After two tours in the second Iraqi war, he took home 37 medals, including a Silver Star and four Purple Hearts. He gives all the credit to his troop — call sign “Crazy Horse” — whose lineage dates back to Gen. George Custer. “There’s not another brotherhood like it,” he said.

His past never haunts him.

“I killed when I needed to . . . I was brutal when I needed to be, but I was compassionate when I needed to be,” he said. “In my mind, I never killed anyone who wasn’t trying to kill me or trying to do harm.”

He has a bullet permanently lodged in his leg, and the battlefield left him with a new enemy to fight — Stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He believes he developed the cancer from inhaling particles from armor-piercing depleted uranium (DU) shells — which turn radioactive when superheated upon firing — but he has no regrets.

“I’m not upset that the DU gave me cancer. If I hadn’t had the DU rounds, there were vehicles that I wouldn’t have been able to destroy that would have killed me,” he said.

The cancer was in remission but returned in January. He will undergo chemotherapy at the end of the summer.

These days, Johnson lives in Daytona Beach, Fla., is married with four kids and works as a consultant for an ammunition company. He doesn’t display his accolades or wartime souvenirs — not even the Iraq flag he took off Saddam Hussein’s limousine.

And he’s given up hunting, preferring to surf with his 13-year-old son.

In his memoir, which goes on sale Tuesday, he quotes Hemingway: “Those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never really care for anything else thereafter.”

2013 Blitz: #23 Lamar Louis

Lamar LouisLamar Louis played a lot as a true freshman

LSU is 42 days away from the start of fall camp and Geaux247 continues to take a look at the returning veterans to get you to the beginning of camp.

Today, we take a look at sophomore linebacker Lamar Louis .

#23 Lamar Louis

Coming out of High School: April 5, 2011 was a good day for Tiger fans on both sides of the fence.

LSU landed not one Breaux Bridge Tiger, but two, as Lamar Louis and his teammate Travin Dural both committed to Les Miles and co.

The journey for Louis from Breaux Bridge to Baton Rouge had a detour as he had to spend his junior year at Teurlings Catholic. An incident that some say was overblown resulted in his expulsion from the St. Mary Parish school system.

After starring for Breaux Bridge at running back and linebacker as a sophomore, Louis missed his entire junior season on the gridiron.

Despite not having any film other than from his sophomore year, Louis still picked up early offers from Texas A&M, Florida and Vanderbilt after some strong performances on the combine circuit the spring of his junior year.

Then on April 2, Louis finally got the call he had been waiting on as Miles extended an offer. After taking a few days to talk things over with his family, the four-star outside linebacker, that was ranked No. 162 overall by 247Sports and No. 282 in the 247Composite, teamed up with Dural to make their pledge.

Louis, who was an Offense-Defense All-American and also took part in The Opening, was able to finish his high school career at the place where it all started. He helped lead Breaux Bridge to the Class 4A semifinals. But the Tigers’ run ended there as John Diarse led Neville to victory and ended Breaux Bridge’s season at 12-2.

On the year, Louis spent most of his time on defense and finished with 103 tackles and two sacks. He also added 293 yards and a touchdown on 43 carries.

What we saw in 2012: LSU’s linebacker haul in the 2012 class was one of the best in the country on paper. And they backed it up on the field too in their first year as five of the six signees got on the field.

Louis saw action in 11 games and the 6-foot, 220-pounder was the Tigers’ third linebacker when Kwon Alexander went down against Florida.

With Alexander out, Louis started five of the final six regular season games and finished with 13 tackles. He had a season-high four tackles in the loss to Florida, but managed only six for the remainder of the year despite seeing more time on the field.

What we expect to see in 2013: You expect to see a true freshman make mental mistakes when they are thrown into the fire. And Louis had his share as he was learning John Chavis’ scheme on the fly.

Les Miles named 10 veterans who made the most improvement during spring drills and Louis was one of them. He said he felt more comfortable and was not having to think as much, and that is something that he needed.

Louis is a good athlete that runs very well and he has a nice blend of strength and quickness that he brings to the linebacker corps.

LSU is deep at linebacker but Louis will get on the field on special teams. How much he plays at linebacker will depend on how much progress he continues to make, as well as the plethora of backup backers that are also vying for time in Kwon Alexander, Deion Jones, Lorenzo Phillips, Kendell Beckwith and Melvin Jones.

Sources have mentioned Alexander and Deion Jones as the next two in line heading into fall camp with Louis battling Phillips and Beckwith for that third spot on the two-deep.

I see Louis holding Phillips off, but the bigger battle lies with Beckwith unless the incoming freshman from East Feliciana is used as an edge rusher.

If Louis and Beckwith battle for that third spot then each one gets a win. Louis gets the nod early on, but Beckwith gets a “W” around the middle of the SEC slate and makes his way to the field.

Sonny, thanks for these articles on the returning players; I enjoy reading them. Louis is such a good athlete that I hope he is able to make some plays this season. He has good size and speed, and I can see him making a contribution on the outside, either as a rush DE or an OLB. I agree that he faces some stiff competition for playing time, and I wouldn't be surprised if he makes his greatest impact on ST.
