Who do we leave the great people mantle too?

Tinker

What you say babe! That is how the people in the 9th ward of New Orleans talk at any given moment day or night.

I often wonder then just how in the world did the American people get after each other throat like they did, was it only because they either lived in the North, or Southern part of the United States in North America. Or was Slavery the only true reason that the two people started hating one another?

The different way that they talked was not the only difference between the two groups of people living in the United States then. Because killing each other in a Civil War by the thousands, says much more to me.

Something is fundamentally wrong between the two people who are feeling that strongly about each other. A difference in spirit that is much more deeper then we have talked about before.

The Chinese people fought wars between one another for thousand of years, and afterwords they then called their country "Our Land." What do we called our country, "Stolen Property." Because we boarded boats crossing over the ocean to steal the American Indians land, from the spirit of the Indian people who live on it.

We took this place for our very own country because we had guns, and they the Indians had bows and arrows. A mismatch of arms, and numbers. What chance did they have against well armed people like us. Now after that bad history we began stealing from each other in a never ending story of hatred, material envy, and American government power.

To what end do we continue this American people United States broken promise story. Do we keep selling this bull talk to the rest of the world from where we first came. Or until even we get tired of this American hysterics of make believe. Who are we then but too many Crooks, and Thieves, people of ill Will, Wolves dressed in sheep's clothing. Men and women from a very evil heritage of Murder, Crime, and Hollywood fantasy movies.

I seem to feel that nothing has change from the first time that we first step foot on this New Continent, called America. That we are still the same old opportunist, with too many religious zealots, and political hypocrites. That we are just in a greater number now of what we have always been, bull talkers from the word go.

Does it really matter about what skin color we have, or dialect we speak, or religious beliefs we profess. Because I just keep looking at the same behavior from each and every generation about the same American people as the people before. I mean who is kidding who anymore.

The only real difference I see now is that our Father and Mothers from a few generation before us, had more discretion about how they acted in public. They dressed up in a suit, and appropriate dress. They spoke more politely. The American people of a few generations before us we're better educated, because they would read the daily Newspapers, and Books, Magazines, and seemed to take more time at what they wanted to study.

And of course they were not so many American people stoned out of their minds on Dope, looking at mindless television shows, wasting their time on foolish entertainment . Drugs were not pushing around the school kids. They were in a word more sober people, even with the beer and alcohol that the speakeasies served in the roaring 1020s. I would go so far as to say that the Jazz age was the very best time to be a American citizen in all of our American history. That was the high water mark to be an American citizen. You could afford the life stile that you were living in, even if the Medical Medicine was not as advanced as ours is now. The quality of their society lives was richer, and more fun.

Our Computers can't give us what they had then, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJSdk44gWIE

I guess that it is hard to believe that our Grandmother, and Mother; were Flappers in the roaring 1020s...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3svvCj4yhYc

Wow! What a wonderful time to be in America then. I am a product of the 1950s and that was a lot of fun, but believe me nothing like what they had in the Jazz age...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=684n8FO68LU

So as far as I can tell the religion of the people who call themselves Christian, "followers of Jesus Christ." soon after that first settlement who first settled on the new North American continent. Talk a good game but really didn't believe in what Jesus said to all of humankind. Must less in the politics coming from the founders fathers of the new American Federal government.

In fact a lot of American people don't know where they belong, and don't seem to believe in anything. If they ever did to begin with?

Jesus was born to turn your life into something better, as all family have a chance to feel a new beginning with each new born baby's birth. So much of a better attitude seem to be up to the parents of our new born baby's.

Because of that truism in our American population a very serious problem has developed. We don't seem to have enough good parents now to leave the great people mantle too.

Dandy Don's LSU Sports Report

With the big New Year’s Day Bowl game against Iowa a little more than a week away, today let’s begin comparing the Hawkeyes and the Tigers by taking a look at a few stats. Just as I've done for every big game this season, yesterday I spent some time putting together the following chart to provide a quick look at who has the statistical edge.
LSU_Iowa_Stats

On paper, the stats show an Iowa team that matches up well against LSU, strength against strength. Unlike in previous seasons when LSU's defense and special teams made up for the team’s deficiencies on offense, this year’s Tiger offense has had to carry the load and shore up a defense that has been subpar by LSU's standards. That will be much tougher to do this time around against a very stout Iowa squad that ranks 7th in the nation in total defense, and with an LSU freshman quarterback making his first collegiate start. In addition to their impressive marks on defense, a couple of other stats that jump out at me are penalty yards and turnover ratio. This tells me the Hawkeyes play smart and won’t be giving up a lot of hidden yards.

I like to think I have a pretty good feel for the pulse of the Tiger Nation because of all the emails I receive and the many readers I hear from, and it seems to me that LSU fans are taking Iowa lightly. In a way that’s understandable, considering that the Hawkeyes are 8-4 and unranked, but I hope that mindset isn’t shared by the players and staff. The Hawkeyes have proven to be a mentally strong, disciplined club that plays their assignments well. They’re also anchored by one of the best linebacker corps in the nation in Christian Kirksey, Anthony Hitchens and James Morris, who have combined for 297 tackles in 2013. They’re also a well coached team, and I was a bit surprised to discover that under Coach Kirk Ferentz the Hawkeyes are 3-1 against SEC bowl foes.

The bottom line is that although Iowa is not a glamorous team, they are a solid group who will give the Tigers all the can handle and then some if the Tigers don’t come ready to play, and really that's my biggest concern. It’s no secret that at times LSU has played lethargically this season when they were expected to win easily. Remember the three interceptions to a near-second team Ole Miss defense? Or what about the sleepwalking that took place in the first half against Furman? And let’s not forget the Tigers’ trailing Arkansas with three minutes to play in the game. My point is, if LSU takes Iowa lightly like they took those three teams, it could spell trouble for the Tigers. After a 25-24 loss to Clemson in the 2012 Chick-fil-A Bowl, Les Miles’ veteran players still have a bad taste in their mouths, which should be motivating enough for the Tigers. And if that doesn’t get the team to hone in on Iowa, perhaps playing for another 10-win season and rallying around true freshman quarterback Anthony Jennings will.

Later this week we'll take a closer look at LSU vs. Iowa, position-by-poition, starting with the quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers. Then a little closer to game time we’ll talk about what to watch for and keys to an LSU victory.

I'll leave you today with these few recruiting tid-bits:

• Late last night, unconfirmed rumors started circulating of Tony Brown committing to LSU. As of now, I have not been able to confirm the rumor. I still feel very good about LSU signing Brown, but I think the reports were a little premature. I'll keep an eye/ear out today for any news.

• There were reports last week of elite running back Dalvin Cook visiting LSU this past weekend, but that didn’t happen. Instead, Cook stayed home and was honored Saturday night with the South Florida player of the year award. After the ceremony, Cook was interviewed by the media and reportedly reconfirmed his commitment to Florida, although he left some room for question when he made the statement, “I’m a commit, and that’s all you can say until I flip. That’s it.” I still consider Cook a long-shot for LSU, but you never know.

• One new name that I've heard since sharing my list of LSU targets last week is JUCO offensive guard Alex Shine of Scottsdale, Arizona (6'4", 305). From what I understand, there's some mutual interest there and his name is one to look out for.

Lastly, if you value these daily doses of Tiger News, please consider helping out by donating to our annual fundraiser. There's no better way to show your appreciation and help ensure the site’s longevity.

Reader Comments: Johnny Jones’ Tigers sure have been making some noise. Have you seen this link about LSU basketball as a "sleeper" team?

Reader Comments: Scott, like you I'm looking forward to the 2014 baseball season. I sure would like to see you mention in your report about people who have season tickets but see they won't be making certain games, letting people like me, who live in North LA. know so we could buy those tickets. I can't buy season tickets living up here and only being able to make maybe 8 or 10 games. Let's
