Bye Bye Love

Tinker Town: "Just like the old songs by the Bee Gees back in the day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_SOJauGVeI&feature=related The hits just kept coming.  LSU football program is now skidding back into the pack where every now and then they will get a hopeful wink from the Sports News media glamorous attention. The great big time romance is over. LSU college football programs with their high quality football players were flying very high for most of this past decade. The below average coaching ability of Les Miles however has finally become the obvious reason for the LSU football program decline.  After this coming Sat, Nov 03 defeat to Alabama crimson tide, the blues will once again become a daily tune around Baton Rouge Louisiana. Bye Bye Love. Until one day another man will comes along, and it will be party time again." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26pp7nm4sOM&feature=related

Welcome to the Film Study from the LSU-Texas A&M game-and-a-half. I say that because the teams combined for 168 plays, 94 by the Aggies, who employ the fast-paced, hurry-up, let's-snap-it-twice-just-for-fun offense.

LSU's vaunted defense allowed nearly double the 217 yards it averaged coming in as Texas A&M went for 410. But the LSU defense won this game by slowing the Aggies, who scored 12 points in the early part of the game, but didn't score again until LSU had a 24-12 lead. The Aggies used five-wide receiver sets 15 times in the first half but only eight in the second, needing the running back to help slow the LSU pass rush. They even threw a couple of plays from an obscure 1970's offense called the Power V.Defensive coordinator John Chavis started his unit in a package with four defensive linemen and five defensive backs. After Texas A&M scored a touchdown on the first series and had another called back on the second, he went primarily with six defensive backs and three down lineman. The final count was 62 of the 94 snaps in that formation. LSU's defensive ends were lining up outside the Texas A&M offensive tackles to keep freshman quarterback sensation "Johnny Football" aka Johnny Manziel pinned in the middle. Notre Dame-Oklahoma Preview

By NICOLINO DIBENEDETTO (STATS Writer) | The Associated Press

Unbeaten this late in a season for the first time in a decade, Notre Dame realizes there's plenty more work to be done if it's going to be considered a contender for the BCS title.
Oklahoma already has a loss, but the Sooners' recent dominance has them thinking they're also in the running.
Entering perhaps their toughest matchup of the season, the fifth-ranked Fighting Irish look to further legitimize their revival Saturday night when they visit No. 8 Oklahoma for the first time in 46 years.
Notre Dame (7-0) is emerging as a possibility to win the program's first national title since 1988, with five games remaining in the regular season. The Irish figure to be favored in the three in between Saturday's contest and the finale at Southern California, but coach Brian Kelly isn't celebrating yet.
"If you're 7-0 and five in the country and you think you've arrived, then that's where as a coach and a team you're in peril," he said.
Kelly knows his team needed to rally for a rugged 17-14 home win over Brigham Young last weekend. In fact, four of Notre Dame's victories have come by seven points or fewer, including the last two games.
"I think controlling the football for us and playing great defense in the second half has been our formula for winning and we are not going to go away from that," Kelly said. Read more...http://sports.yahoo.com/news/notre-dame-oklahoma-preview-052852866--ncaaf.html
