Tinker Town:"The football game against Alabama is starting to look like the Russian forces during the Battle of Balaclava on 25 October 1854 in the Crimean War. Because the LSU football team is lead by another nut case in Les Miles. Much like that crazy madman Lord Cardigan who lead the brave Light Brigade to certain death against a deadly Russian artillery battery, hens the poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade"
What will the poem read like after watching the 2012 Les Miles LSU fighting tigers football team from this coming Sat, Nov 03 Alabama disaster...That they threw themselves against the Crimson Tide defensive line over and over again, just like they did before. Wasting their bravery and health on a head coach who like to pretend that he knew what to do, until even Mike the tiger went home appalled with all the bull talk."

LSU Tigers win old-fashioned way at Texas A&M

e_SDLqYou’ve got more speed on the field (in LSU’s Mustang defensive package), and certainly that was a big benefit for us.” John Chavis, LSU defensive coordinatorCOLLEGE STATION, Texas — Chalk up another win for Old Man Football.
Texas A&M threatened to swamp LSU Saturday, driving the Tigers into a 12-0 hole while LSU struggled to mount a counterattack.
It looked bleak for the Tigers, with Aggies freshman phenom Johnny Manziel riddling LSU’s defense while white-clad A&M yell leaders whipped the maroon-clad Aggies faithful into a swaying, towel-waving frenzy.
But on the LSU sideline the mood was calm, the resolve to come back from the Tigers’ biggest road game deficit in eight years undaunted.
“There’s no reason to panic when you get down,” quarterback Zach Mettenberger said. “You have to keep grinding away, keep staying focused, keep believing. We did that, and right before half we got two quick possessions and two touchdowns.” Read more...http://theadvocate.com/

No. 1 Alabama at No. 6 LSU
Nov. 3, 7 p.m.TV: CBS
Radio: 1130 AM
But LSU coach Les Miles has a simple plan for the remainder of his season for the No. 6 Tigers, who host No. 1 Alabama on Nov. 3 after an open date this week – go deep.
“Let me tell you something,” Miles said after LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger continually either overthrew or underthrew receivers on deep balls in the Tigers’ 24-19 win at Texas A&M Saturday. “We’re going to hit some of these deep shots eventually. And it’s not only going to be enough. It’ll be way enough. The problem is, we’ve got to hit ‘em.”
Mettenberger has been mostly inefficient overall this season. After completing just 11 of 29 for 97 yards and a touchdown Saturday, he fell three more spots to 14th in the 14-team Southeastern Conference in passing efficiency and 75th nationally at 124.39. He is 112-of-198 passing for 1,419 yards and seven touchdowns with four interceptions. His receivers have not helped him very much, though, as they have double-digit drops when he does find them.
“We have a nice receiving corps,” Miles said. “We’ve just got to practice them up, get them some comfort a little bit. Because if everybody is going to stand in around the ball, we’re going to enjoy opportunities to throw it. That’s why Mettenberger’s there. Mettenberger can throw the thing. We have to throw it some more. We have to practice it some more, and maybe we’ll hit it next time.” Read more...http://www.

Dandy Don's LSU Sports Report
Good morning, Tiger Fans.
I’d like to start this update by congratulating Kevin Minter for being named the Walter Camp Football Foundation National Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding play Saturday. Minter led the Tiger defensive attack with 12 tackles, including one sack for a 7-yard loss that pushed the Aggies out of field goal range on a big third down, and an interception that halted their drive inside the LSU 45. He also broke up a pass and had two quarterback hurries. In my opinion, Minter has been the most pleasant surprise all season.
Last night the new BCS standings were announced and LSU held steady at No. 6. Alabama remained No. 1 and Florida climbed to No. 2 after their convincing win over South Carolina. Kansas State, Oregon and Notre Dame rounded out the top-5. Georgia moved up to No. 10 and Mississippi State moved up to No. 11. South Carolina dropped to No. 13 and Texas A&M fell three spots to No. 20. Things are really shaping up for another huge showdown at Tiger Stadium between LSU and Alabama, and I sure am glad we have an extra week to prepare for it.
A couple of weeks ago, heading into the South Carolina game, LSU was plagued with four major problems areas. Looking back, I see that two of the four have been greatly improved, while two have not. Read more..http://www.dandydon.com/
