"The battle for Caen"
Tinker
I was looking at D-Day to Victory on television and saw that
the German Tiger tank has a 88 mm gun that could easily cut through the Allies
tanks with a fierce explosion that killed everyone. The German Tiger tanks were
simply waiting for the allies charge at Caen. And that charge forward was
indeed order as the soldiers making that charge were simply target practice
with one after another alley tank exploding going nowhere fast.
The charge at Caen became a failure as thousands of soldiers
died trying to carry out the order to charge that town with all of the allies
armor. Date D-Day the 6th of June to August 1944. Location Normandy, France.
Result Strategic Allied victory. Thank God for the American Air force.
One of the toughest battle in World War II was the battle of
Caen that turned into one of the worse encounters of that War. Dead Horses and Cows,
along with the German, French, British, and Canadian bodys were lying everywhere
after that battle at Caen. And if it wasn't for the firepower of the Air force
that Battle at Caen would have even been worse.
The television show from D-Day to Victory showed me what the
price of freedom really looked like then, and could very well look that way
again. So now I am wondering if the American people still have what it take to
fight for their freedom like they did then?
